Welcome to the information page for Harlem Valley Animal Clinic, a Pet Hospital located at 3017 NY-22, Dover Plains, NY 12522, USA. You can reach them at the phone number (845) 877-6852 or their mobile number +1 845-877-6852. Harlem Valley Animal Clinic aims to serve the local community by providing veterinary care for their animal companions. To offer a balanced perspective, we will consider the available customer reviews along with the general expectations of a Pet Hospital.

Based on the limited online feedback, there are contrasting views regarding the services and approach of Harlem Valley Animal Clinic. One reviewer offers a positive assessment, stating that "The Doctors are seasoned professionals and very friendly," and that "they would explain everything to you." This positive feedback also extends to the nursing staff, who are described as "amazing," leading to a definite recommendation of the clinic.

However, another review presents a significant concern regarding emergency care responsiveness. This reviewer recounted an experience where, during a pet emergency, they sought to briefly speak with the doctor for advice. Despite being a previous client, they overheard the doctor declining to speak, instructing the staff member to direct the caller to emergency care. The reviewer, with over 20 years of experience raising dogs, interpreted this as a lack of care beyond financial transactions, contrasting it with their primary vet who is available for consultation day and night, even requiring a three-hour drive to reach. This negative experience led the reviewer to conclude they would not contact Harlem Valley Animal Clinic again.

Given these mixed reviews, it is important for local users to consider both aspects when evaluating Harlem Valley Animal Clinic for their pet care needs. The positive review highlights the professionalism and friendliness of the doctors and the excellence of the nursing staff in explaining things to clients. This suggests a clinic where routine consultations and care might be handled with expertise and a good bedside manner.

On the other hand, the negative review raises concerns about the clinic's handling of emergency inquiries over the phone, which could be a crucial factor for pet owners seeking immediate advice during critical situations. The perception of prioritizing financial gain over immediate patient care, as expressed by the dissatisfied reviewer, is a serious consideration.

Without specific details about the environment of Harlem Valley Animal Clinic, we can only speculate based on its category as a Pet Hospital. Typically, such a facility would include examination rooms for consultations, treatment areas for medical procedures, and potentially surgical suites and diagnostic equipment. The positive review mentioning explanations from doctors and amazing nursing staff suggests a professional and communicative environment during in-person visits.

The services offered by Harlem Valley Animal Clinic are not fully detailed in the provided information. However, based on the context of a Pet Hospital, they likely include:

  • Routine wellness exams and vaccinations
  • Diagnosis and treatment of illnesses
  • Surgical procedures
  • Dental care
  • Laboratory services
  • Imaging services (e.g., X-rays)
  • Preventative care (e.g., parasite control)

The mention of a pet owner seeking advice for an emergency suggests that they might also handle urgent care situations, although the reported experience indicates a specific protocol for such cases.

Features of Harlem Valley Animal Clinic that can be inferred from the reviews include:

  • Seasoned and friendly doctors who provide explanations.
  • Amazing nursing staff.
  • Potentially a protocol for emergencies that involves directing callers to dedicated emergency care facilities, which may not suit all pet owners' expectations for immediate phone advice.

No promotional information is available in the provided data. Therefore, we cannot comment on any special offers or unique services being promoted by Harlem Valley Animal Clinic.

In summary, Harlem Valley Animal Clinic in Dover Plains, NY, is a Pet Hospital that has received positive feedback regarding its doctors and nursing staff, who are described as professional, friendly, and communicative. However, there is also a reported negative experience concerning the handling of an emergency phone inquiry, which raises questions about the clinic's immediate responsiveness in such situations. Local users should consider both these perspectives when deciding if this clinic meets their needs for veterinary care.

To gain a more complete understanding of the environment, the full scope of services offered, the clinic's emergency protocols, and the general approach to patient care, it would be beneficial to contact Harlem Valley Animal Clinic directly. The provided reviews offer a glimpse into the experiences of two clients, highlighting areas of both satisfaction and concern.

For pet owners in Dover Plains, NY, Harlem Valley Animal Clinic presents a mixed picture based on the available feedback. The positive comments suggest quality care during visits, while the negative comment points to a potential limitation in how emergency advice is handled over the phone. It would be prudent to inquire about their emergency protocols and the range of services they offer to make an informed decision about your pet's healthcare.

My dog was having an emergency I just wanted to speak briefly to the doctor on the phone for advice on what to do next. I've been to this office before and they took my money no problem. But I heard the doctor tell the girl on the phone. No I'm not here let him call for emergency care. As someone who's been raising and caring for dogs for over 20 years. This told me everything I need to know. When u only care about the check and not the person its very clear. My main vet I can call him day and night and he will talk with me that's why I drive 3 hours away to go to that vet. Don't worry I won't call again. 馃憤

Don't go here if you love your pet! Dr Sebetic doesn't genuinely care about your pet, just the bill your visit will generate. He ALWAYS goes to the worst possible case instead of ruling out the simple causes so you are willing to spend whatever it takes to save your pet. Our miniature dachshund developed an eye infection that resembled conjunctivitis. We took him to Harlem Valley Animal Clinic on 12/27/22. Dr Sebetic told us that he thought he had a tumor behind his eye. We told him we thought that he had infected teeth. Dr Sebetic focused on a tumor and advised of the cost to do a biopsy. He prescribed 2 weeks of antibiotic tablets that didn't help at all. We brought him to the HV Animal Clinic two times in two weeks. I spoke to Dr Sebetic four times. This careless veterinarian was not treating him as an emergency patient. He said we were overreacting. We took him to another veterinary hospital 1/12/23. They treated him aggressively with an antibiotic shot. It was too late. The abscess broke that night,1/12/23 at 11pm, and caused him to have a stroke. We had an hour drive to an emergency vet in Brewster. Our dog went through so much. It was such a traumatic end of life. He deserved better. He passed away from what was curable. Dr Sebetic basically went off his own diagnosis not a medical one, and didn't treat our 14 year dog for what was wrong. It cost our dog's life. I wouldn't bring a gold fish to this veterinarian. He purposely let my baby suffer for weeks and die. *spoke to Sebetic and he refuses to own what he did. He actually told me it was our fault. Stay away from here! JANUARY 13, 2024 ::: IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SINCE Mark KILLED OUR BOY. January 13, 2025 ~ it has been 2 years since this incompetent vet watched our little boy die from an infected tooth *Sebetic told us our yellow lab had a neurological disorder and had less than 6 months to live .... five years ago. It was lymes disease. *Courtney is heartless. After knowing my dog passed away 3 days prior under their care, she only had unprofessional comments to say to me.
