Great vet and staff! My vet of 24 years retired and I have been searching for a vet who is not only kind, compassionate, experienced and skilled, but takes the time to explain things to me. Dr. Lauren is/does all of the above. It is refreshing not to have deal with a corporately owned clinic. The pricing is affordable, not ridiculously expensive like the corporately owned clinics. I couldn't be more satisfied with the care my animals receive here.

Let's explore the environment, services, features, and affordability that make this pet hospital a cherished resource for the local community.
Environment:
While the reviews don't offer extensive details about the physical environment, they paint a picture of a welcoming and non-corporate atmosphere. One reviewer specifically appreciated that it's "refreshing not to have deal with a corporately owned clinic," suggesting a more personal and perhaps less bureaucratic experience. The fact that Dr. Lauren and her staff are described as "kind, compassionate, experienced and skilled" contributes to a feeling of trust and comfort. The mention of Dr. Lauren taking in a critically ill cat for 24/7 care, despite not being a designated "Veterinary Hospital" in the traditional sense, implies a level of dedication that transcends typical clinic operations, suggesting a very caring and involved environment.
Services:
The customer reviews provide valuable insights into the services offered at Harborside Veterinary Care. One pet owner initially sought a new vet after their previous one retired, indicating that Harborside provides general veterinary care, including thorough explanations and a patient-focused approach. The remarkable account of the six-month-old Bengal diagnosed with FIP highlights their diagnostic capabilities and their proactive approach to finding and facilitating access to specialized treatment, even involving networking for FDA-approved medication. Furthermore, Dr. Lauren's willingness to provide round-the-clock care for this critical case demonstrates a commitment beyond standard clinic hours. This suggests that while they might not label themselves a 24/7 emergency hospital, they are deeply invested in the well-being of their patients, often going to extraordinary lengths. It's reasonable to assume they offer a range of general veterinary services, including wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnostics, and treatment for various illnesses, with a particular strength in attentive and proactive care.
Features:
Several key features distinguish Harborside Veterinary Care. The experience and skill of Dr. Lauren are repeatedly praised, with one reviewer highlighting her ability to explain things thoroughly. The compassion and kindness of both Dr. Lauren and her staff, including the vet tech Kim, are also significant features. Kim's prior experience with FIP at a rescue organization proved crucial in the diagnosis and the search for treatment. The willingness of the clinic to network and facilitate access to specialized medication demonstrates a commitment to utilizing all available resources for their patients' benefit. Perhaps the most striking feature is the level of dedication exemplified by Dr. Lauren taking in a very sick cat for continuous care, showcasing an exceptional commitment to saving lives. Additionally, the affordability of their pricing, especially in comparison to corporately owned clinics, makes quality care more accessible to pet owners.
Promotional Information:
While the provided reviews do not explicitly mention formal promotions, the fact that their pricing is described as "affordable, not ridiculously expensive like the corporately owned clinics" can be seen as a significant value proposition for cost-conscious pet owners. This suggests a commitment to providing quality care at reasonable prices. Local users looking for veterinary care that is both excellent and affordable may find Harborside Veterinary Care appealing. For specific inquiries about pricing for various services or any potential discounts, contacting them directly at (360) 302-9300 or +1 360-302-9300 would be the best course of action.

Apr 30, 2025 · Gabrielle LaRocheDr. Lauren saved our kitty Loki's life! When our 6 month old Bengal became lethargic and bloated we took him in and he was immediately diagnosed with FIP (Feline infectious peritonitis, it's a viral disease of cats caused by certain strains of a virus called the feline coronavirus). This is a nasty virus that if undiagnosed and allowed to progress will take your cats life. We are so fortunate that Dr. Lauren's Vet Tech "Kim" had seen it before through her work at a rescue org. They both started networking to find us the only FDA approved medication at Stokes Pharmaceutical on the east coast. The story doesn't end there... After taking the medication for five days the virus wasn't giving up so easy! It started progressing into his lungs and when he started showing signs of labored breathing we were back at Harborside. Dr Lauren is not a "Veterinary Hospital" but went above and beyond by taking him in and caring for him 24/7. If it wasn't for her and her awesome staff Loki may not have survived! We owe "everyone" at Harborside Veterinary Care a debt of GRATITUDE, thank you for saving our baby! Aug 10, 2024 · Frank BWonderful vet and staff! I have been looking for a vet who is kind, compassionate, experienced and skilled. Dr. Lauren is all of those things and more. I cannot recommend this clinic enough. Dr Lauren takes the time to explain what she sees and also takes the time to explain all the options. This is not a corporately owned clinic so no pushy sales, no trying to push drugs, no trying to push flea meds. It’s a clinic where the vet is very skilled and very caring. The pricing is affordable not ridiculously expensive like the corporately owned clinics. Absolutely delighted with the care my animals receive here.
Feb 24, 2025 · Leia RayDr Lauren & CW are amazing! We'll definitely be trusting them as our fur babies primary from now on. On 3 different occasions they didn't charge us for visits that other vets most certainly would have charged for. I'm not saying that you should expect free visits, but it speaks to their character and the fact that they don't just care about money, they genuinely care about your pets wellbeing. One of those visits were outside of business hours on a day the office was closed. They "fixed" our pitbull a few days ago and that went very well, our girl is acting like her normal self and healing great only 2 days later. They have been very good to us and our fur babies, HIGHLY recommend!!
Oct 31, 2024 · Erik BI love this clinic. My dogs and cat are well cared for and get to see the same doctor each visit instead of being juggled around every time I have a vet appointment. Dr. Lauren and her staff are wonderful in every situation including one very high anxiety LGD. They were all cool as cucumbers after my Pyrenees-Anatolian panicked during a temperature check. They took their time explaining to me about the dog’s reaction (snarling and backing away) which calmed me down too. I would highly recommend Harborside Vet to any pet owner.
