We had tried several veterinary offices in the GH area and were so happy we found Harbor Animal Hospital. All doctors and staff there are kind. We see Dr. Finger most of the time and she is amazing. She really listens and treats effectively. Dr. Lida as well. Everyone was so kind to me as I brought my elderly cat in almost monthly toward the end and was a crying mess. The staff had great referrals for end of life. Our dog just had her teeth cleaned there and it was easy and she is happy and doing great. Our new kittens felt at ease with the staff. Love everyone there. Best office!

Sharing our most recent experience. Dr. AJ and the team at Harbor Animal took great care of our Tilly, who was in for surgical removal of various lumps and growth. Tilly is a four year old Norwegian Elkhound. Dr. AJ kept us informed and gave practical advice to help with decision making, leading up to the procedure. We usually see Dr. Lida who has been very kind and supportive with both our dogs, over the years. Thank you for taking such good care of our dogs 🙏

If I could I would do a zero star review. I brought my dog to Harbor Animal Hospital on 02/05 because she cut her paw pad open while on a walk; I saw Dr. Finger. She wrapped her foot for me after saying it didn’t need stitches and would heal on its own after 3-4 days. Today I unwrapped her foot to see how it was looking to find it was still fresh and bleeding. Due to this my sister (I had to go to work) brought her back to the vet for me. She told me that the staff she encountered were rude and unprofessional; making comments about the inconvenience that she had brought my other dog with her (couldn’t leave him home alone) and that my dogs bandaged leg was not wrapped in a bag to shield against the wet weather. My sister informed them that it had been wrapped, and my dog had torn off the bag on the drive to the office; to which the tech replied “well it needs to be wrapped to stop it form getting wet”. Dr. James Burnett was who saw her today. He said that her foot would not heal within four days and likely need 2 weeks. He also said she needs to stay off the foot and not rough house with any other dogs in the house. He offered a sedative/relaxant that she could take to help with this, we declined. Dr. Burnett and his tech then took my dog to the back room to wrap her foot for me. My sister then brought my dog home to realize that the vet had wrapped the wrong foot! They had wrapped her foot in a gauze bandage, then tied an I.V bag around it to keep it dry. She got back home around 3pm, and my family notified me that she seemed extremely drowsy and loopy and has been sleeping since getting home….nearly 6 hours ago. My dog is a husky mix, only 2 years old, and has a lot of energy, this is very unlike her to sleep for so long. This behavior leads me to believe that she was sedated while in the back room. I have had a previous negative encounter with this office and should’ve taken that as my sign to leave, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and stayed. Needless to say I am extremely upset about the situation and can’t do anything about it now because they don’t open again until Monday! I will not be bringing either of my dogs back to this office again. The pictures are of what her foot looked like, and then how she has acted since being home. You can tell in the picture she isn’t sleeping, but doesn’t look awake and alert either.

Caring, thorough vets who explain everything to you in detail, validate your expertise as a pet owner and are reassuring to you and gentle with your pet. They fit me in twice in a row with same day appointments, which is unheard of these days of vet shortages. They take your concerns very seriously and have an appropriate sense of urgency when it comes to finding solutions. Front desk staff and vet techs are great as well. I’ve already recommended them to 3 friends!
