I read some of the one star reviews here and against my better judgment, I decided to try this vet. I regret it. I was told my first cat was insecure, but I was offered no advice on how to improve the behavior. (She is playful and healthy - she just doesn't like vet visits) The vet did not even examine my first cat and asked me to come back once she had taken some antianxiety meds. I was told my second cat is overweight and needs more fiber. I did not receive any advice on nutrition or how to implement changes to diet/lifestyle. I was told she had bad teeth, and she just may be one of those cats who needs to keep having teeth removed. I did not receive any advice on how to improve my cat's health. Recommended she come in for a dental cleaning and that there were one, maybe two, possible extractions. I asked for x-rays before teeth were extracted. Also marked this on the intake form I signed and was willing to pay for. I asked for them to call me if three or more teeth need extraction as to not be surprised and to also authorize the charges. Also marked this on the intake form I signed. Received a text in past tense that they pulled 4 of my cat's teeth. They never called me to authorize the extractions. The tech hung up on me when I called them back to ask if they took x-rays and why they didn't call me to authorize the extractions. Picked up my cat and asked again why x-rays were not taken and why they didn't call me to authorize the extractions. I was told that they "just knew the teeth were bad and didn't feel the need to take x-rays" and that they "assumed I was busy at work and didn't want to bother me so they proceeded with the extractions." I was fired as a client for asking questions and holding the vet accountable. As a bonus, I was mocked for being competent and knowing my rights! I took my cat to a new vet. Upon examination, the places where teeth were extracted are still inflamed and root material is still in my cat's gums. So now I get to pay someone else to correct what this vet did not competently perform. Guess she should've taken before and after x-rays liked I asked. And maybe also asked if it was OK to extract those extra teeth.

I had to take my English Bulldog to Happy Paws due to a severe elongated soft palate and everted saccules that had made my fur baby's breathing very difficult. We both met with Dr. Wellman and I was thoroughly impressed. Dr. Wellman is very communicative, caring, and passionate about how she cares for her clients. We were able to schedule my bully girl's surgery. Before the surgery, the day of, and even after Dr. Wellman was very attentive wanting to make sure my girl's health was good. I can not say enough positive comments about this place. I am grateful that Dr. Wellman was able to save my bully girl and make her breathing already infinitely better in a short amount of time after the surgery. If you have a bulldog, pug, or any short nosed breed of dog....Dr. Wellman is very knowledgable and she will look after your pet as if they were her own!

Our first interaction was nothing but amazing!! We came in having to let our 12 y/o puppy go due to cancer. It was something that came on fast and aggressive. Our care was managed through a different provider but we were compelled to find another facility to walk through the process together, and thankful we found Happy Paws! This could not have been a better decision! I can only imagine the level of care and compassion Dr. Wellman has for her patients based on how much she gave my family and I during this very challenging time! For someone who has never met us or my pup before and to give so much and the end of her day none the less, truly speaks to her character and her whole team! Meghan and Dr. Wellman are amazing and if you are looking for someone to help take care of the beloved pets in your family you cannot find a better facility!

Dr. Wellman and her team are exceptional. I have had several pretty severe issues/emergencies with my French Bulldog and she provides excellent care and compassion. I am beyond thankful I found her a couple of years ago!

Although our procedures had complications, 9 months later and I could not be more pleased of the results from the surgeries to open up Pasquales' (English Bulldog) airways. He's a completely different dog, as it has affected other aspects of his life positively. The facility is top notch. The doggie couches are awesome. Dr Wellman truly does care about your pet. I could tell they struggle with staffing but they still stayed after hours to tend to my dog. And were always available to me post procedure. If you're on the fence about spending the money, do it. This place offers value added like I've never experienced previously.
