Welcome to Hanover Veterinary Clinic
Welcome to Hanover Veterinary Clinic, your local Pet Hospital situated at 391 N Main St, West Lebanon, NH 03784, USA, serving the pet community of West Lebanon and the surrounding areas. As a Pet Hospital, Hanover Veterinary Clinic aims to provide comprehensive veterinary care for your animal companions. The clinic is staffed by experienced veterinary professionals, including Dr. Flory, and is dedicated to the health and well-being of your pets.
The available customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the services provided by Hanover Veterinary Clinic. One review recounts a positive emergency visit experience. According to this account, a small Chihuahua was brought to the clinic for an emergency, and the reviewer believes the clinic staff "absolutely saved his life." The reviewer, who was visiting from out of town, expressed gratitude for the clinic's willingness to accept them and for the "utmost kindness" and "generosity" shown. The outcome was reported to be excellent, with the dog, who had been in congestive heart failure, making a remarkable recovery. The reviewer specifically thanks Dr. Flory for saving their pet's life and highly recommends the veterinary office to others in the local area.
In contrast, another review details a less satisfactory experience. A new resident to the area brought their senior dog to Hanover Veterinary Clinic for a general check-up and specifically to address the dog's anal gland issues. The reviewer noted that the cost of the visit was $400, which they perceived as higher compared to other veterinary clinics. Furthermore, they reported that the clinic staff was unable to complete the anal gland expression and did not provide a clear explanation. Following this visit, the reviewer sought care from other veterinarians who suggested that something done at Hanover Veterinary Clinic might have contributed to the dog developing bloody stool and a cyst on her butt. As a result of this experience, the reviewer stated that they would not feel comfortable returning to Hanover Veterinary Clinic.
Based on these reviews, Hanover Veterinary Clinic operates as a Pet Hospital offering both emergency and general veterinary services. The positive review highlights the clinic's ability to handle critical emergency situations effectively, providing compassionate care and achieving positive outcomes. The negative review raises concerns regarding pricing transparency, the thoroughness of certain procedures (specifically anal gland expression), and potential adverse effects following a visit. It also points to possible communication issues or a lack of clear explanations regarding procedures.
The environment of Hanover Veterinary Clinic is not explicitly described in the provided reviews. However, the positive account suggests a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere, especially in an emergency situation for someone not local to the area. The willingness to accept an out-of-town patient and treat them with kindness implies a client-focused approach, at least in some instances. The negative review does not comment on the clinic's physical environment.
The services offered by Hanover Veterinary Clinic, based on the reviews, appear to include:
- Emergency veterinary care, particularly for critical conditions like congestive heart failure.
- General wellness checks for senior dogs.
- Anal gland examination and expression (though with a reported inability to complete the procedure in one instance).
- Potential diagnostic procedures and treatments that may have led to adverse effects in the case of the senior dog, according to subsequent veterinary opinions.
A key feature highlighted in the positive review is the clinic's capacity to handle emergencies and provide life-saving care, coupled with a kind and generous approach towards clients, even those who are not regular patients. A potential area for improvement, as indicated by the negative review, could be in ensuring transparent pricing, thoroughness in all procedures, clear communication with clients regarding their pet's condition and treatment, and diligent follow-up to prevent potential complications.
No information regarding specific promotional offers or discounts is mentioned in the provided text. Local users interested in learning about any special programs or pricing at Hanover Veterinary Clinic are advised to contact them directly at (603) 607-7780 or +1 603-607-7780. In conclusion, Hanover Veterinary Clinic in West Lebanon, NH, is a Pet Hospital that has received both high praise for its emergency care and expressions of dissatisfaction regarding pricing and the handling of certain routine procedures. The positive review underscores the clinic's ability to act decisively and compassionately in critical situations, while the negative review raises concerns about cost, procedural thoroughness, and potential adverse outcomes. Local pet owners considering Hanover Veterinary Clinic should weigh these contrasting experiences and may wish to seek further information or clarification based on their specific needs and their pet's health concerns. Direct communication with the clinic is recommended to gain a comprehensive understanding of their services and policies.

May 11, 2025 · Heather PerkinsHello, Just moved here and needed to fine a vet for my senior dog. I saw all good reviews on this place but I have never spent $400 on a vet visit before when other places are lower. Also my dog has bad anal glands when they went to go and check they couldn't finish and didn't really get a good explation. ever since that visit I have been from other vets that something that they did could have had her to have bloody stool and a cyst on her butt now. I don't think I could make myself go back
