Located at 14750 North St U, Hallsville, MO 65255, USA, Hallsville Veterinary Services stands as a highly-regarded and locally owned Pet Hospital dedicated to the health and well-being of animals in the Hallsville community and surrounding areas. For inquiries or to schedule an appointment, they can be reached at (573) 696-3864 or via mobile at +1 573-696-3864. This facility prides itself on offering "old-school integrity and ethics" while providing professional, affordable, and advanced veterinary services for both small animals and equines.
The environment at Hallsville Veterinary Services is consistently described as welcoming, friendly, and compassionate. Clients repeatedly emphasize the "love and kindness" extended not only to their pets but also to them during difficult times, such as when a cat was "on death's door." This level of empathy is a significant hallmark of their practice, fostering a sense of comfort and trust, even in sensitive situations. The sentiment of being able to "stay with him as they put him to sleep" speaks volumes about their supportive and understanding approach during end-of-life care, allowing owners to be present for their beloved companions. Furthermore, clients consistently report that the clinic is "neat and clean with a calm atmosphere," which is crucial for reducing stress in pets and their owners during veterinary visits. This focus on creating a positive and empathetic experience contributes significantly to why clients continue to return for their pets' care.
Hallsville Veterinary Services offers a comprehensive array of veterinary services, catering to a broad spectrum of animal health needs. As a full-service small animal and equine facility, their offerings include:
General Wellness and Preventative Care: This is a core offering, ensuring pets receive routine check-ups, vaccinations, and preventative treatments to maintain their overall health. The commitment to "great care they have in taking care of our pets" underscores their dedication to proactive health management.
Puppy and Kitten Health Checks: Early health evaluations for young pets are essential for ensuring they start their lives strong and healthy.
Pet Dental Care: A specific service highlighted by a client was a "dental cleaning and extraction" for their dog, Tootsie. The successful outcome and the appreciation for the care provided indicate their proficiency in comprehensive dental procedures, which often include cleaning, scaling, polishing, and extractions as needed. The hospital also offers dental X-rays for thorough examination.
Surgical Services: While the reviews don't detail extensive surgical procedures beyond dental extractions, the ability to perform such an intervention suggests they are equipped for various soft tissue surgeries. Their commitment to "advanced veterinary services" implies a broader surgical capability.
Diagnostics and Onsite Lab: Quick diagnosis and effective treatment, as seen with a sick dog whose condition improved rapidly with prescribed medications, points to robust diagnostic capabilities, likely including in-house laboratory services for timely results.
Microchipping: This essential service helps in the identification and safe return of lost pets.
End-of-Life Care: The deeply touching account of supporting an owner through euthanasia for their cat, Pumpkin, demonstrates a profound commitment to compassionate end-of-life care, ensuring dignity for the pet and support for the grieving family.
Equine Services: Beyond small animals, Hallsville Veterinary Services extends its care to horses, positioning them as a versatile veterinary provider in the region.
Emergency and Urgent Care: Although not a dedicated 24/7 emergency clinic, the review stating "Got an appointment within minutes for a sick dog" suggests a strong capability to handle urgent cases promptly during their operating hours. Their staff are also described as "highly trained staff providing intensive care" for emergencies.
Hallsville Veterinary Services boasts several distinct features that contribute to its positive reputation:
Exceptional Compassion and Empathy: This is perhaps their most celebrated feature. Multiple reviews highlight the "love and kindness" and the "very compassionate" nature of the staff. This emotional support is invaluable for pet owners, especially during distressing times.
Affordability: Clients consistently mention the "affordability of this practice" and that their "prices are more than reasonable." This commitment to accessible care ensures that quality veterinary services are within reach for more pet owners.
Ease of Appointment Scheduling: The ability to "get appointments easily" and to "get an appointment within minutes for a sick dog" is a significant advantage, demonstrating their efficient administrative processes and responsiveness to client needs.
Professional and Knowledgeable Staff: The team, including Dr. Michelle Schmidt (Dr. Meyers) and the entire staff, is described as "knowledgeable and caring." Their professionalism, combined with empathy, creates a trustworthy environment where pet owners feel confident in the care their animals receive.
Personalized Care: The testimony of "they treat your animals like they are their own" indicates a high level of personalized care, going beyond standard medical treatment to create a genuine bond with each patient.
Strong Client Loyalty: The fact that clients, even after a devastating loss, continue to bring new pets to Hallsville Veterinary Services speaks volumes about the trust and loyalty they inspire. One client mentioned being with them for "10 years" and recommending them "every time someone asks about a good vet!"
Flexible Payment Options: To further enhance affordability and accessibility, Hallsville Veterinary Services accepts various payment methods, including all major credit cards, cash, Apple Pay, and CareCredit. CareCredit, in particular, offers extended payment plans and interest-free options for qualifying balances, making significant veterinary expenses more manageable for pet owners.
Hallsville Veterinary Services actively promotes itself through its commitment to its mission: "to provide our local communities with the highest standard of veterinary care" with "old-school integrity and ethics." Their promotional strength lies in their strong client testimonials, which act as powerful endorsements. The consistent themes in reviews—compassion, affordability, efficiency, and knowledgeable staff—are the cornerstones of their reputation. They serve not only Hallsville but also surrounding areas such as Harrisburg, Sturgeon, Centralia, Mexico, and Columbia, MO, solidifying their role as a central veterinary care provider in the region. Their emphasis on being "locally owned" also resonates with community members who value supporting local businesses.
For any pet owner in the Hallsville area seeking a veterinary practice that prioritizes both the medical and emotional well-being of their pets, while also offering flexible and affordable options, Hallsville Veterinary Services emerges as a highly recommended choice. Mar 12, 2025 · Peggy PaulI brought Tootsie in on a recommendation of a family member for a dental cleaning and extraction. Scheduling was easy from the start and I even brought her in a day early on accident and they still took care of her. Tootsie is doing great and I appreciate the care and affordability of this practice. Thank you!
Apr 11, 2025 · Chelsea StoneI recently took my miniature dachshund, Snoopy, to Hallsville Veterinary Services Vet Clinic , and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and professional. We didn’t have to wait long, which was a huge plus. The vet was incredibly informative, taking the time to listen to all my concerns and explain everything in a way that made me feel confident in the care Snoopy was getting. The prices were also very reasonable for the high-quality service we received. I’m so glad we found our new family vet, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
