My cat Cadbury was sick all year and I took him to 2 different vets and he got a little better. I took him to growls and meows in cisne. She took a xray and told me he had chronic bronchitis we got a steroid and albuteral. He just wasn't getting better so I made the hardest decision of my life. He was having trouble breathing so I had him put to sleep. Dr Murphy was so good she let me hold him the whole time and told me what she was doing. I definitely would let Dr Murphy take care of my animals she is so good with the animals.

Growls & Meows Veterinary Clinic Introduce

Welcome to the local introduction of Growls & Meows Veterinary Clinic, a dedicated Pet Hospital located at 101 Railroad St, Cisne, IL 62823, USA. You can reach them by phone at (618) 673-7387 or via mobile at +1 618-673-7387. As a Pet Hospital, Growls & Meows Veterinary Clinic aims to provide a wide range of medical and supportive services for your beloved animal companions. Based on the testimonials from pet owners, this clinic appears to be characterized by compassionate care, professional expertise, and a willingness to go above and beyond for their patients.

One heartfelt review details the experience of a pet owner whose cat, Cadbury, had been ill for an extended period and had seen other veterinarians with limited improvement. Upon bringing Cadbury to Growls & Meows in Cisne, Dr. Murphy conducted an X-ray and diagnosed chronic bronchitis, prescribing a steroid and albuterol. Despite these treatments, Cadbury's condition did not improve, leading to the difficult decision of euthanasia. The reviewer expressed profound gratitude for Dr. Murphy's compassionate handling of this sensitive situation, noting that they were allowed to hold their cat throughout the process and that Dr. Murphy explained everything she was doing. This experience left a lasting positive impression, with the reviewer stating they "definitely would let Dr. Murphy take care of my animals" due to her evident skill and care.

Another compelling review recounts a Friday night emergency before Easter involving their female Rottweiler, Ria. The owners discovered what appeared to be a significant wound on her chest. Despite it being a Friday evening and the start of Easter weekend, their daughter-in-law contacted Growls & Meows Veterinary Clinic, even though Ria had never been a patient there before. Remarkably, the clinic not only answered the call at 7:15 PM but also promptly requested pictures via text. Following the exchange of texts and pictures, the clinic called back and arranged to see Ria first thing on Saturday morning.

The severity of Ria's condition became apparent during a 4.5-hour surgery on that Saturday, the day before Easter. She was found to have puncture wounds on her chest and under her armpit, indicative of an attack, as well as a tear in her back leg similar to an ACL tear. The reviewer's main point was to highly recommend Growls & Meows Veterinary Clinic and their staff in Cisne, emphasizing their amazing accommodation even for new patients. As a result of this exceptional care, the reviewer stated that all five of their "fur babies" would become patients of Dr. Murphy and her team. The care provided to Rhiannon (presumably Ria) was described as "greatly appreciated," and the clinic received a 5-star rating.

From these detailed accounts, we can infer several key aspects of Growls & Meows Veterinary Clinic. Firstly, they provide diagnostic services, as evidenced by the X-ray performed on Cadbury. Secondly, they are equipped to handle surgical procedures, as demonstrated by the extensive surgery performed on Ria. Thirdly, they show a strong commitment to patient care, both in routine situations and emergencies, as highlighted by their willingness to see a new patient on a holiday weekend evening. The compassion shown by Dr. Murphy during Cadbury's euthanasia also underscores a patient-centered approach.

Regarding the environment, the reviews do not offer specific details about the clinic's physical space. However, the responsiveness in an emergency and the ability to perform surgery suggest that they have the necessary facilities and equipment to handle various medical situations. The welcoming attitude towards a new patient in urgent need implies a supportive and organized environment.

The services offered by Growls & Meows Veterinary Clinic appear to be comprehensive, including diagnostics (like X-rays), medical treatment (prescribing medication), surgical intervention, and compassionate end-of-life care. The willingness to take on a new emergency patient suggests they may also offer emergency services. While the reviews don't explicitly list routine services like vaccinations or wellness checks, it is common for a Pet Hospital providing these levels of care to also offer preventative services.

Features of Growls & Meows Veterinary Clinic that stand out include the evident compassion and dedication of Dr. Murphy and the staff, their willingness to accommodate new patients even in urgent situations and outside of regular hours (as implied by the Easter weekend emergency response), and their capability to handle complex medical and surgical cases. The personal touch, such as allowing a pet owner to hold their animal during euthanasia and explaining the procedure, is also a notable feature.

The Friday night before Easter, we got home from work and noticed our sweet female Rotty kept licking her chest, which I thought was weird and went to check on her. After further inspection discovered what appeared at first glance to be a hole in her chest. Our DIL immediately stepped in and called Growls & Meows! Keep in mind our female Rotty had NEVER been there! At 7:15pm on a Friday night, AND on Easter Weekend too, Growls & Meows Veterinary Clinic not only answered the call but immediately asked for pictures to be text to them. After texts and pictures were sent, and a few follow up texts, the office called right back! They wanted to see our sweet Rotty first thing Saturday morning. Ria went in for surgery on a Saturday morning, the day before Easter and spent 4.5 hours there!!! She had puncture wounds on her chest and another set under her armpit from some type of attack. Also some type of tear in her back leg, similar to an ACL tear in an adult. My point is - if YOU’RE looking for a vet, Cisne and their staff are amazing and are so accommodating- even to patients that originally were not theirs! Needless to say, all 5 of our FUR Babies will be using Dr. Murphy and staff! Their amazing care was greatly appreciated for Rhiannon! Thank you! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars

After giving price of cremation, the cost was increased drastically an hour later after they received our baby. Sorry Crestview in Fairfield, we won't go somewhere else again.

My girl Bunnie got fixed through them, and I borededher for few days after so the vet could keep a eye on it. I have previous trauma from a kittens stitches popping on me when I was a kid so I choose to keep my dog in what I thought was the safest place. She came home with a severely infected site. I took her to a diffrent vet and she was on 3 diffrent meds to help get her better. As well as her being suddenly dog reactive. I am extremely upset with this vet clinic and have been considering reporting then to the veterinary board directors.

I can't recommend Dr. Murphy and her team enough. Dr. Murphy treated my dog at her previous clinic, and I always hoped I'd find her again. I did - the day that my dog was at the end of his life. It was a Sunday, and I wasn't even a current patient, but I called on a whim, and they told me to bring him - no hesitation. They were so kind and patient, even diagnosing the true cause of my dog's discomfort. Although it's an hour and a half drive to see Dr. Murphy, I'll never go to another vet again.
