đŸš«A MUST READ! BE AWARE! đŸš« Back in Dec. 2024 Prissy (my Chihuahua) was very ill. It started withh her puking white flim up. Then she started puking blood. So we took her to the vet clinic while there the first time. The vet thought maybe she had ate some poison. We don’t keep poison laying around the house. He told me she was anemic and dehydrated. That’s the reason this was going on. Gave me some medicine for her before we left, She started pooping blood while there. He wasn’t concerned so she progressively got worse while we were there. Didn’t do an x-ray or other testing. We took her back the second time because she had saturated a puppy pad with blood from puking and pooping. He mentioned keeping her overnight. I thought she’d do better at home so I took her home. He said if I need anything just to call the doctor on call Or take her to emergency vet clinic. While at home that evening she got worse. I called the doctor on call so they can keep her overnight. She didn’t even ask me my name or Prissys name or what was going on. Told me that she had a Christmas party to get to. I gave her my name and she said she talked to the vet. I seen that day and he’d call me. That veterinary clinic on call she should have been willing to go to the vet clinic and hook Prissy up to fluids. Yet she was too concerned with the Christmas party that was going on. To my knowledge none of the vets or the manager got disciplinary action. So instead of bringing her back that night, I wasn’t able to because they had a Christmas party, They were too concerned about. I took her to emergency vet clinic in Des Moines. They did x-rays and found chicken bones in her stomach. The emergency vet clinic saved her life. The manager at the clinic called me and threatened to send the bill to collections. Which I refuse to pay because I spent plenty of money at the emergency vet clinic, who saved her life. So I had spoke with the owner and he knew everything that had happened. He mentioned to me they did absolutely everything they could for Prissy. This vet clinic is very unconcerned and unprofessional when it comes to the care of animals. They didn’t do everything they could for her an x-ray should’ve been done the first time I took her to visit.

We found GVC years ago in an emergent situation. Since then we have travelled an hour to and from home in order to get their loving and timely service! Thank you to all of the staff for the great communication and care you show our heelers and our late Woody. đŸŸ

I believe that I have written a review for GVC in the past, but want to express continued support for this business. I have now been taking my animals here for years and wouldn't go anywhere else. The care I receive is by far the best care that I have ever gotten at a veterinarian office. I am never rushed or brushed off and all of my concerns are always addressed. If you are looking for a vet, you won't be disappointed with the service and professionalism at GVC!
