I rarely leave reviews, except times when I feel the public needs to be informed. The experience we just had at Petco warrants such a post. Read on, and know that my words are 100% truth. Apologies if it is triggering, as it was for us. We came in to have a regular rabies shot. Easy check in, all good, the staff discussed a long term ear infection he has had, and various attempts to remedy it. When it came time for our dog, the assistant was friendly and gracious. The attending veterinarian, Sheila Selznick, was unsmiling and looked as though she was being forced to do the work. I assumed, as the case might be with any incredibly skilled professional, that she was lazer focused and vigilant. Immediately, she attempted to take the dogs temperature in his ears. The sore, infected ears. He began to scream in pain, the whole store looking on. Struggling, two other staff members pinned him down as he wailed in agony. One side to the other, she manhandled the tool inside his tender ears. We tried to console him were firmly informed that we MAY NOT ENTER the area five feet away, where our beloved boy and ESA was suffering. The shot was delivered; he was brought to us, with his ear covered in blood. Shocked, we loved him, as Sheila stated wthout compassion or interest, "It was already bleeding when I opened his ear flap." I promise you, his ears have NEVER bled. I was handed a paper towel, we paid the bill and took him out. This DVM may have long running clients, but as we sit here with a bloodied dog and crying wife, I would NEVER, Ever recommend this person for your pet. Thank you for your time to read, and carry on better informed.

Welcome to Greengate Animal Clinic & Supply: Selznick Sheila DVM

Welcome to an in-depth look at Greengate Animal Clinic & Supply: Selznick Sheila DVM, a veterinary care provider located in Greensburg, PA. This clinic operates under the broader category of a Pet Hospital, offering a range of services and potentially goods for sale to support the health and well-being of local pets. Situated at 812 College Ave, Greensburg, PA 15601, USA, the clinic can be reached via phone at (724) 837-9338 or mobile at +1 724-837-9338. Our aim is to provide an objective introduction to this veterinary care facility, drawing upon available information to describe its environment, services, features, and any relevant promotional insights.

As a Pet Hospital, Greengate Animal Clinic & Supply is designed to serve as a comprehensive hub for various animal health needs. This typically includes preventive care, diagnostic services, medical treatments, and potentially surgical procedures. The combination of "Clinic" and "Supply" in its name suggests that, in addition to medical services, the facility might also stock and sell pet-related products. This could range from prescription diets and medications to general pet supplies like food, toys, or grooming essentials, providing a convenient one-stop solution for pet owners. The integration of a supply component within a veterinary clinic is a common model, aiming to streamline access to necessary items that complement the medical care provided.

When considering the **environment** of a veterinary clinic, factors like cleanliness, organization, and the general atmosphere play a crucial role in both pet and owner comfort. While specific details about the interior decor or waiting room amenities of Greengate Animal Clinic & Supply are not extensively detailed in the provided information, the clinic's operational model, as described in a customer review, hints at a particular approach to appointments. One client specifically appreciated the fact that Dr. Selznick "does not over book appointments," leading to a less stressful environment for their dogs. This suggests that the clinic may prioritize a calmer, less crowded waiting area, which is a significant feature for many pet owners whose animals may become anxious in a busy setting. A less crowded waiting room can contribute to a more relaxed experience for pets, potentially reducing stress and making veterinary visits more manageable.

In terms of **services**, as a veterinary clinic and pet hospital, Greengate Animal Clinic & Supply would typically offer a standard array of medical provisions. These would include routine vaccinations, such as rabies shots, as mentioned in a review. Beyond preventive care, veterinary hospitals generally provide diagnostics like blood tests, X-rays, and other imaging services to identify underlying health issues. Treatment plans for various illnesses, management of chronic conditions, and emergency care would also fall under the purview of such a facility. The reviews indicate that Dr. Selznick has a long history of caring for animals, with one client mentioning over thirty years of service for multiple dogs and a cat. This longevity suggests a broad experience in handling diverse pet health concerns. The review also highlights Dr. Selznick's careful approach to recommending procedures, especially when an animal has major health issues, and her assistance during health emergencies. This suggests a focus on thoughtful, considered medical advice tailored to the individual animal's condition.

The **features** of Greengate Animal Clinic & Supply, as gleaned from the customer feedback, appear to center around Dr. Selznick's long-standing experience and her approach to patient scheduling. The consistent care provided over three decades to multiple pets by one client is a strong indicator of established trust and satisfaction with Dr. Selznick's expertise. Furthermore, the practice of not overbooking appointments is a distinct feature that sets this clinic apart for some clients. This controlled scheduling helps in maintaining a more serene environment, which can be particularly beneficial for pets that are easily stressed by the presence of other animals or by prolonged waiting times. The ability to provide focused attention to each patient due to a less rushed schedule can also contribute to a higher quality of care and a more personalized experience for pet owners. Another notable feature mentioned is the provision of assistance during health emergencies, suggesting a commitment to supporting clients through critical situations.

Regarding **promotional information**, the provided text does not contain explicit promotional offers or marketing campaigns directly from the clinic. However, the positive review acts as a form of indirect promotion, highlighting Dr. Selznick's consistent and long-term care, her careful approach to major health issues, and her emergency assistance. The fact that a client has recommended her to friends also serves as powerful word-of-mouth promotion, often more impactful than traditional advertising. The emphasis on a calm waiting room environment also implicitly promotes the clinic to pet owners who prioritize their animal's comfort and stress levels during veterinary visits. While there isn't a direct "sale" or "discount" listed, the enduring client relationships and the specific advantages like unhurried appointments act as compelling reasons for potential new clients to consider Greengate Animal Clinic & Supply.

It's important to acknowledge that customer experiences can vary, and an objective introduction should reflect this. While one review praises Dr. Selznick's long-term care, careful recommendations, and emergency assistance, another details a highly distressing experience. This latter account describes significant pain inflicted on a dog during a routine rabies shot, with the dog's ear bleeding, and a perceived lack of compassion from the veterinarian. This review also notes staff restraining the dog and restricting the owner's access. Such contrasting feedback underscores the subjective nature of service experiences and the importance of individual assessment. For potential clients, considering these varied perspectives can help in making an informed decision about whether Greengate Animal Clinic & Supply aligns with their specific needs and expectations for veterinary care. The clinic's ability to retain long-term clients speaks to a level of satisfaction for some, while the negative account highlights areas of concern for others. Ultimately, the decision to choose a veterinary care provider is a personal one, often based on a combination of factors including the type of services required, the desired environment, and personal comfort with the veterinary staff.

Dr. Selznick has taken care of my animals for at least thirty years. She has cared for five dogs and one cat over that period of time. She is careful about recommending a procedure if the animal has major health issues. One of my dogs had some major health problems and she was good about helping me during one of her health emergencies. I have recommended her to friend in search of a new vet. I also like the fact that she does not over book appointments. My dogs are not stressed by a waiting room fillef with other animals.

Dr Selznick has been our vet for many years. She always is available and returns our calls on a timely manner. We have had some emergency situations and she is always there for us. She is very professional, very knowledgeable and always is compassionate. With all the animals she cares for, she always treats our animals with a caring special touch. We are so happy we choose her for our animal "children". We wanted someone special for the special animals in our lives. The Ciabattonis

I saw her at a pop up vaccination clinic at some pet store, maybe Petsmart. She was extremely rude to her staff and to customers. She yelled at me to back up when my dog was being anxious. I tried to ask her a question about my dog, who has been scratching more often and she told me to see a “real vet”. The entire experience was extremely unpleasant.

Extremely rude at the pop up vet clinic at Petco….she seemed like she didn’t even wanna touch my puppy. Unpleasant for such a simple easy exchange…hopefully she’s not there next time
