I recently had my cat spayed here and I can’t say enough good things about the staff and facility. I fully trusted them with the care of my cat and they came through with flying colors. Also, the cost was very reasonable compared to other vets, which is to say nothing of the quality of the care and the focus on putting me (and my cat) at ease.

While specific details about the interior design are not extensively provided, the general impression from customer feedback points to a comfortable and professional setting. The focus on creating a low-stress environment is evident in the hospital's encouragement for "Meet and Greet" visits, allowing pets to familiarize themselves with the sights, smells, and staff before an actual appointment. They encourage bringing pets a couple of hours after their last meal and to bring their favorite high-value treats, further contributing to a positive association with the clinic. They also suggest utilizing calming sprays and wipes that use pheromones (like Feliway and Adaptil) and discuss safe prescription medications to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress for sensitive pets.

This includes services like lab work, digital X-rays, and ultrasound.
- Surgical Services: The hospital provides surgical care, from routine procedures like spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue operations, ensuring pets receive necessary interventions with expert care. All surgical patients are placed on IV fluids to stabilize blood pressure during anesthetic procedures. Orthopedic surgeries are typically referred to highly trained specialists.

This connection allows for seamless veterinary care and boarding services under one roof, providing a trusted place for pets to stay while their owners are away. This integrated service offers peace of mind, knowing that veterinary support is readily available if needed during their pet's stay. For boarding, dogs require up-to-date Rabies, DHPP (distemper), Bordetella within the last 6 months, and a negative fecal test. Cats require up-to-date Rabies and FVRCP (distemper) vaccinations, as well as proof of a negative FelV/FIV test.
- Vaccine Rewards Program/Health Plans: While specifics can vary, the hospital has offered programs where a one-time fee provides free vaccinations (excluding Lyme) as long as annual appointments are maintained. They also offer annual Pet Health Plans that include free exams all year round (for emergencies, vaccines, sick appointments), covered annual vaccinations and diagnostics (like heartworm/Lyme testing, fecal analysis), and discounts (5, 10, or 15% depending on the plan level) on other medications and services.
- Accessibility for New Patients: The hospital encourages new patients to bring or email previous health records from other vets. This helps them to tailor the visit to the pet's specific needs and provides important information on vaccine history and past health issues. They strive to accommodate schedules for appointments.
Beyond specific offers, Greenfield Veterinary Hospital demonstrates its commitment to pet health through various resources available to pet owners on its website. These include helpful information on a diverse range of topics, such as:
- Detailed guides on common pet health conditions and management (e.g., food allergies, canine separation anxiety, chronic bladder disease in cats, diabetes, Cushing's disease, hyperthyroidism).
- Practical home care instructions (e.g., ear cleaning 101, home care instructions for gastrointestinal illness).
- Information on feline environmental needs, senior pet care, and comprehensive vaccination guidelines.
- Resources for lost and found pets, including guidance on filing reports and utilizing social media to spread the word.
They also provide links to useful external resources and local businesses, such as Animal Healing Now, Murray Avenue Apothecary, Greenfield Grooming Salon, and Oakcrest Pet Crematory, indicating a connection to the broader pet care community in Pittsburgh. The offering of an online pharmacy further promotes ease of access to necessary products for ongoing pet care, including prescription diets and preventative medications. The hospital emphasizes ethical practices, with some clients noting that they are honest about when medication might be cheaper to order online, demonstrating a focus on animal welfare over profit.

Feb 06, 2025 · Stacie AdamsI love greenfield veterinary hospital. The bldg & lobby a spacious. The lobby is large, enough room for dogs and cats to have room if they don't want to interact. The staff is very nice & helpful. The ajoining Pampered Paws Hotel & staff are great. A great place for my lab lyric and anyone else's pet.
Apr 13, 2025 · Bonnie ShimketsUpdated review: Their 'new' space is great and they have a great team who really care about all the pets. We also use the 'Pampurred Paws' boarding and always recommend them - especially for dogs who don't enjoy being in 'gen pop' dog warehouses. Ayanna and staff take the time to cater to each guest's needs and make sure they have a safe stay.
May 16, 2025 · Matthew FullerMy cats and dogs have been patients at Greenfield Veterinary Hospital for several years and we have worked with many different veterinarians on staff. All have been very attentive and compassionate and provided appropriate care at a reasonable price. They take the time to discuss treatment options, answer questions, and give my animals a good experience in the clinic. They have prioritized getting us in quickly when necessary and the front desk staff are always friendly and professional. The entire staff was wonderful when we had to send our senior dog over the rainbow bridge. They took the edge off of an otherwise terrible day with their kindness. I'm grateful to have this clinic in our community.
Dec 27, 2024 · Werden TierAlways amazing with my pets (2 cats and 2 dogs), really good at putting them at their ease, and always walk me in detail through their reasoning and what they found. They're also really good at following up after an appointment to check if all is well. Love them! Also highly recommend their Pampered Paws Hotel for boarding our pups.
