I'm shocked by these reviews but I guess each person has a different perspective. My experience here with my 4 week old kitten, was fantastic. The staff showed interest of my situation and gave me all the tips and medicine my kitten needed to recover. Also, answered any questions I had with a positive energy and thoughtful tone. Simply a great vet and would recommend to anyone who loves their pets like family.

Welcome to Green Brook Animal Hospital

Welcome to the introduction of Green Brook Animal Hospital, a local pet hospital located at 915 N Washington Ave, Green Brook Township, NJ 08812, USA. Serving the Green Brook Township community and surrounding areas, Green Brook Animal Hospital aims to provide veterinary care for your animal companions. You can contact them at (732) 968-3311 or via their mobile phone at +1 732-968-3311 for inquiries and appointment scheduling.

Due to the conflicting nature of the available customer reviews, providing a definitive description of the environment, services, and features of Green Brook Animal Hospital requires careful consideration of both positive and negative feedback. One reviewer described their experience as "fantastic," highlighting the staff's interest in their situation with a 4-week-old kitten, the provision of necessary tips and medicine, and the positive and thoughtful communication. This suggests that at least some clients have found the hospital to be caring and supportive.

However, another reviewer paints a starkly different picture, describing the facility as "outdated," "understaffed," and "unprofessional," and citing an "insensitive" experience. This negative review details a specific instance involving a Yorkie with eating difficulties and a foul mouth odor, which the owner correctly suspected was related to dental issues. The reviewer alleges that a dental cleaning under anesthesia was performed without addressing the need for multiple tooth extractions, leading to ongoing pain and further expenses at other veterinary facilities. The lack of communication from the veterinarian after the procedure and the dismissive response when the issue was raised are significant points of concern.

Based on these contrasting experiences, the services potentially offered at Green Brook Animal Hospital include:

  • General Wellness Exams: As a pet hospital, they likely provide routine check-ups for pets.
  • Vaccinations: Essential for preventive care, vaccinations are a standard service at most veterinary hospitals.
  • Treatment for Illnesses: Addressing various medical conditions, as indicated by the care provided to both a young kitten and an older dog.
  • Dental Care: Offering dental cleanings under anesthesia, although the effectiveness and thoroughness of this service are called into question by one review.
  • Medication Dispensing: Providing prescribed medications for various ailments.
  • Surgical Procedures (potential): Anesthesia was administered for a dental cleaning, suggesting the capability for anesthetized procedures, which might extend to other surgeries. However, the scope of surgical services is not detailed.
  • Consultations: Veterinarians provide advice and discuss treatment plans with pet owners, although the clarity and completeness of this communication are areas of concern based on one review.

The features of Green Brook Animal Hospital are also subject to interpretation based on the conflicting reviews:

  • Caring Staff (according to one review): At least some members of the staff are perceived as interested, positive, and thoughtful.
  • Potentially Outdated Facility (according to one review): One customer found the premises to be outdated, which might impact the overall comfort and perception of the hospital.
  • Potentially Understaffed (according to one review): Allegations of being understaffed could lead to longer wait times or a perceived lack of individual attention.
  • Variable Professionalism and Sensitivity (conflicting reviews): One reviewer found the service unprofessional and insensitive, particularly regarding communication and follow-up, while another had a positive experience with the staff's demeanor.
  • Questionable Communication Practices (according to one review): The lack of post-procedure communication from the veterinarian and the dismissive response to concerns raise significant issues about transparency and patient follow-up.

Currently, there is no promotional information available online for Green Brook Animal Hospital. Pet hospitals often offer promotions for services like initial exams, vaccinations, or dental packages. To inquire about any current promotions or special offers, it is recommended to contact the hospital directly.

For local users in Green Brook Township, NJ, and the surrounding areas seeking a "Pet Hospital Near Me," Green Brook Animal Hospital presents a complex picture based on the available reviews. The stark contrast between the positive and negative experiences underscores the importance of conducting thorough due diligence before entrusting your pet's care to this facility. Consider the following steps:

  • Contact the Hospital Directly: Call (732) 968-3311 to inquire about their services, staff qualifications, and protocols for procedures, especially those involving anesthesia and potential extractions.
  • Ask Specific Questions About Communication: Inquire about their communication practices, particularly regarding post-procedure follow-up and how they ensure pet owners are fully informed about their animal's condition and treatment.
  • Discuss Their Facilities and Equipment: While one review mentions an outdated facility, it would be beneficial to get a clearer understanding of their equipment and the types of procedures they are equipped to handle.
  • Inquire About Staffing Levels: If concerns about being understaffed are a worry, you might ask about their staffing ratios and how they ensure adequate attention to all patients.
  • Seek Additional Reviews: Look for reviews on other online platforms to get a broader range of opinions and experiences from other pet owners who have used Green Brook Animal Hospital.
  • Consider a Preliminary Visit: If your pet has specific needs or you have concerns based on the reviews, a brief introductory visit to assess the environment and interact with the staff might be beneficial.
  • Trust Your Gut Instincts: Pay attention to how you are treated during your initial interactions and whether you feel comfortable and confident in their ability to provide quality care for your pet.

The significant discrepancy in customer experiences at Green Brook Animal Hospital serves as a reminder that individual experiences can vary widely. While one pet owner reported a positive and supportive encounter, another detailed a distressing situation involving perceived misdiagnosis, inadequate treatment, and poor communication. Local users must weigh these perspectives carefully and conduct their own thorough evaluation to determine if this pet hospital meets their standards for quality and trustworthy veterinary care.

In conclusion, Green Brook Animal Hospital in Green Brook Township, NJ, offers veterinary services to the local community. However, the available customer reviews present a mixed picture, with one praising the caring staff and positive experience, while another raises serious concerns about the facility, staffing, professionalism, and communication, particularly regarding dental procedures. Local pet owners are strongly advised to contact the hospital directly, ask detailed questions, and seek additional information to make an informed decision about their pet's healthcare needs.

I'm wondering if all the 5 star reviews are actually for the same Vet/location, because this place is outdated, understaffed, unprofessional, insensitive and the list goes on.... I took my Yorkie there because she was having difficulty eating and drinking and had a foul odor coming from her mouth. It doesn't take a degree in medicine to know it was her teeth that was causing the problem. The Dr advised a cleaning under anesthesia and gave me a flat rate for that. He said if there were any extractions needed he would charge accordingly. I go back to pick her up and the receptionist/assistant hands me a bill for the flat fee discussed. The Dr never even bothered to speak to me so i was assuming all was good. Well here I am thousands of dollars later after taking her to three different places to find out why she's still in pain and not eating, only to find out she needed 6 teeth extracted that should have been done during the cleaning. I called to let him know what i went through and how I felt, and his response was he has over 200 patients and how is he supposed to remember if he spoke to me or not? and that I can't prove it...to be continued, this should never happen to anyone else...I'm going hard on this one. The State Veterinary Board needs to know about Dr's like this!

Always an hour long wait. I had the first appointment once and still had a 45 minute wait. Doctor is old. Gotta be 70+. He's slow and they don't have computers. Everything is pen and paper and guess work for what's wrong. Think the labs overcharge him knowing they can. My cat died due to their lackadaisy approach. Don't bother going to this ancient vet that relies on moldy paperwork for your pets. Just enjoy retirement.
