Greater South River Animal Hospital

We have been very happy with the service and treatment of our Husky. However we just received a billing for a medication from them that had a markup of over 100% when they had very little effort to fill the order. It was for a medication they had ordered for us previously and was a refill. The order did take several phone calls and emails to receive over about three weeks. The actual shipment I received was still in the original manufacturer's box with a new address label attached. Inside there was a packing slip showing a price of $184.46 plus $17.00 shipping. The charge to me on my credit card was $478.15 which included $11 postage to Florida. Per a telephone conversation with the office manager this markup is a normal thing for them and she seemed surprised at my questioning the charge. As I said we have been very happy with the treatment our dog has received but if this is a normal markup it appears to be either a greedy and poor business practice.

We are always treated like family. Our Yorkies (litter mates) have been receiving annual wellness visits, dentals, vaccines, treatments, and TLC for about13 years! We can't say enough good things about Dr. Cate and her crew of caring and talented clinicians, techs, and staff at Greater South River Animal Hospital in Edgewater, MD.

I know that my Yorkie will receive excellent and compassionate care at South River Animal Hospital. I’m always able to get an appointment when I need one. She has been receiving wellness checks and care from the team for all of her 8 years.

Had a great experience for my first & follow up visits. Ciara allowed me to make an appointment as a drop in. Once I scheduled and went to my appointment, she made me a cat carrier box for Elliott bc his mom was not prepared. Everyone else was just as pleasant and kind. Highly recommend :)

Greater south River is an excellent local vet to take your pets for all their healthcare needs. I have been taking my pets here for 7 years now and have never been disappointed. Both Dr. Gately-Dean and Dr. Dan have seen my pets, and they both display kindness, proficiency, and dedication to their work. The front-staff is always accommodating and cheery as well; whether you're walking through the door, or trying to get a last-minute appointment over the phone.
