So we just moved a couple a months ago from California to Michigan and our 16 year old pit bull this morning was in the process of passing. We had no where to go except this place I called to let them know what was going on and that I wanted to put her down. The staff was very friendly and very compassionate. I saw that this place had not great reviews but me and my husband where grateful that they even let us bring her in on such a short notice. It was very pricey to put her down and get her privately cremated around 600. But what isn't expensive these days....

I just want to say how AMAZING the staff here was ESPECIALLY Karen!!! Our dog was hit by a car last week and my boyfriend rushed him in and was able to get our dog in right away at such short notice. I was at work when this happened so it took me some time to get there. But when I did I was greeted RIGHT away by the staff and asking me if I would like to see my dog! I was SO thankful they allowed me in while they were so busy trying to stableize him and what not! Unfortunately we ended up having to put Bruno down! My world was shattered and my heart was completely broken! Karen was SO compassionate and sensitive to my feelings and gave me ALL the time I wanted with him. I think I arrived around 9 PM and stayed till 11:30 PM! She was so supportive & friendly...we even had a few laughs all while my world was breaking! We need more Karen's like her in the world! We did choose to have my dog cremated in which they also made us a clay paw print and we asked for an ink print and was gifted more than a couple prints and some of his hair! The box he came in and the bag was beautiful! I just wanted to leave this review here because...as hard of a decision it was to make to put my dog down it was the RIGHT decision! And I couldn't do what these women do because my heart would break. It takes a solider to withstand having to put these animals down and dealing with all kinds of mixed emotions so I just want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for EVERYTHING you all did for us I highly recommend brining your animal here in an emergency because you may not get answers you want to hear BUT you will have a WONDERFUL staff to lean on during one of the hardest time in lfe making a decision! So that's gotta count for something! Just thank you again! And God bless you! R.I.H BRUNO!

I read the reviews on here and was terrified I found myself having the worst day of Kylie yesterday when we had to bring my baby to be put down and this was the only place available so I didn’t have a choice..I had spoken to the woman on the phone and she was very kind and welcoming..she said bring her to the parking lot and call us and we will come out they immediately came out when we got there ..no wait at all. They let us spend as much time as we needed with our baby to make her comfortable before her eternal sleep. 😭 they explained everything gently and told us to take as much time as we needed. The doctor I forget his name was also very kind he was gentle with my girl and had empathy for us in a terrible situation. So as a reminder to all reading these reviews keep in mind most of these people had a terrible experience because there loved animal was in a traumatic situation wether it be pain injury sickness or end of life. So none of these people were in a great mindset to begin none of these experiences are great I’m sure every minute that passes feels like hours but they were kind to me every member of the staff was wonderful. I haven’t gotten the ashes yet so I will update but they are making a paw print for her and that made my heart warm. I thank them for making this experience go as smooth as it possibly could. Idk what I’d have done without them being open. 💕

outstanding service for my baby! my dog was having issues late at night and we got in within 30 minutes of calling and the staff was prompt and friendly. we did feel uncomfortable at first with not being able to go inside with our dog but staff made sure to update and call us every so often and explained everything very clearly. please come here if you’re in search of great service and treatment.

I was really nervous to bring my girl in here yesterday because of the reviews! I took the chance and I am so glad I did! They were so kind, caring and quick to react to my girl who ended up having bloat. I was such a mess I forgot the blonde girl that was at the fronts name. Sadly we had to let our girl go and they let me sit in the room with her for over 2 hours til my husband could get up there from downstate to say goodbye. The tech was so kind and they all kept on checking on me. They made one of the worst experiences of my life a little easier with their kindness. I cannot thank them enough. RIP sweet girl

In the Tri-city area of Michigan there are 2 choices for after-hours or weekend pet emergencies, drive to Lansing or Great Lakes pet emergencies. I recommend making the long drive to Lansing. I would not recommend bringing your family pet to this vet. We dealt with jolynne grant and she was horrible. She displayed no empathy and became hostile and rude when asked detailed questions about treatment options for our pet. She would not bring our family into the clinic to discuss our pet. She would not take the time to talk to me over the phone. Thankfully the staff at the clinic are more understanding, empathic, and willing to talk with you. We had a life-or-death decision to make and were trying to understand all options. After we were finally allowed to enter the facility, I asked to talk with her. She entered our room with elevated hostility. Slapped a patient folder on the table and coldly stated, 'So, I heard you have questions for me'. I attempted to obtain answers and since the interaction began poorly, the discussion never improved. I asked about her rudeness and we were told how busy she was and didn't have time to address all of our questions. When I asked multiple times what was wrong with her to behave rudely and in a threatening manner, she refused to deal with me and threatened to call the police, and I was then required to exit the building to the parking lot. At one point as I was leaving, she physically walked up into the face of one of our family members in a threatening manner. It was the worst angry actions exhibited by a person in any business, I have witnessed. Completely bizarre and uncalled-for violent behavior. The staff I would rate a 5 - they helped bring me back in for our pet's last moments and apologized for the situation. They were caring and considerate. Unfortunately, I strongly recommend staying away from the vet service at this office.

Wow! Just spoke to Great Lakes Pet Emergencies to get an update on Randall. The doctor could not give me a straight answer what was wrong so I asked, so are you saying it’s phenomonia or is it not? And she was literally SO condescending to us on the phone saying, “okay, let me make it simple for you. He. Has. Phenomonia. He. Will. Need. Anti-bio-tics.” She literally pronounced word by word as if I was 2. My jaw dropped. We told her she’s being very condescending to us, and beating around the bush. I need an answer. She hung up on us. We weren’t even yelling! We were explaining that we’re just stressed and she was being very condescending to us and that’s frustrating. So unprofessional! She also was hinting to me as if I negligent my puppy, saying bulldogs are expensive, they come with issues, they can’t get overheated, making me feel I neglect him, which I don’t. I will never ever come back here. That phone call was SO unprofessional. They also admitted they rely on AI to read their X-rays! 😳That’s scary. I still feel like it’s a guessing game and I don’t have a reliable answer.
