I’ve brought both my cat and dog to this office for routine appointments and procedures, and I’ve consistently had great experiences. Alex, our veterinary technician for both recent exams, was fantastic. She went above and beyond to make the visit comfortable for my pets, being incredibly patient, gentle, and offering plenty of treats to keep things positive. She also took her time to thoroughly answer all of my family’s questions about our pets and their care. We really appreciated her kindness and professionalism. I highly recommend this veterinary office.

Grants Mill Animal Hospital Introduce

Grants Mill Animal Hospital, located at 5431 Beacon Dr, Irondale, AL 35210, USA, and reachable by phone at (205) 933-0515 or mobile at +1 205-933-0515, operates as a 'Pet Hospital' providing veterinary care services to the local community.

Customer reviews present contrasting experiences. One pet owner shared a positive experience, highlighting the excellent care received during routine appointments and procedures for both their cat and dog. They specifically praised a veterinary technician named Alex for her patience, gentleness, and thoroughness in answering questions, recommending the veterinary office.

However, another pet owner recounted a deeply negative experience. They brought their sick dog, Ollie, to Grants Mill Animal Hospital, where he was diagnosed with diabetes and a UTI based on blood work. The reviewer stated that no scans or X-rays were performed. Ollie's condition worsened significantly the next day, requiring emergency veterinary care where further diagnostics revealed an enlarged pancreas in addition to the previously diagnosed conditions. Tragically, Ollie had to be euthanized shortly thereafter. While the veterinarian at Grants Mill Animal Hospital apologized, the reviewer expressed profound grief and stated they would never return to this clinic, suggesting a critical oversight in the initial diagnosis and care.

Local users seeking a 'Pet Hospital' should carefully consider these differing accounts. While some customers have experienced positive routine care at Grants Mill Animal Hospital, a serious concern has been raised regarding diagnostic thoroughness and the handling of a critical illness. It may be advisable for pet owners to seek further information or consider these experiences when choosing a veterinary care provider for their beloved animals. No specific promotional information was available in the provided reviews.

I had taken my fur baby, Ollie, for years for his check-ups to Grants Mill Animal Clinic. A few weeks ago I noticed my fur baby was not feeling well, so I took him in. They did blood work and discovered Ollie was a diabetic and had a UTI. They taught me how to give Ollie insulin and gave me UTI meds, but never did a scan or X-ray on Ollie. They let me leave with Ollie and acted like that was the only thing wrong even though they did blood work. This was on a Friday…Saturday afternoon Ollie could not even hold his little head up. I had to take Ollie to the emergency vet because Ollie was so sick.(Grants Mill was closed.) When I got to the emergency vet, they did the same blood work and X-rays/scans, they found that my fur baby was deathly sick. Ollie had an enlarged pancreas, UTI and was a diabetic. Needless to say, that next Thursday, I had to make the decision to put my fur baby to rest….The most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make. I spoke with the doctor at Grants Mill and she did apologize but that doesn’t bring Ollie back. I will NEVER take an animal back to that vet again!

Scheduled a check up online, got to the vet, and they claimed I didn’t have an appointment. Lady said you were not guaranteed an appointment by making it online. What’s the point of being able to do it online? Follow up: they reached out and apologized.

Dr. Petras and her staff are friendly, knowledgeable and caring. They always take time to help us care for our puppy and patiently answered all the questions we had as new pet owners. If you live in Irondale or sending areas then take your pets to Grants Mill Animal Hospital. They’ll take excellent care of you!
