Good Hands Veterinary Hospital

We recently relocated to Athens and my daughter in law recommended Good Hands Vet. to care for our cat Lynnie! We took her there last week and were immensely pleased with everyone there from the receptionist to Missy to Dr. Simms! They are all prosfessional and very caring & knowledgeable in the care of pets! I have lived all over the country and been to many vets. Good Hands is, by far, the best vet I have ever worked with. Each of their physicians and their entire staff is so knowledgeable. And KIND. They always say that as the pet owner, we know our dogs better than they do. And when we believe something is wrong, they listen to that. They are truly the best and I recommend them to everyone!

I honestly don't know how I haven't left them a review sooner. I have been coming here for several years with my Shepherds and I cannot say enough great things about them. I don't have a single favorite vet because each one (past and present) are all wonderful! (Needless to say their vet techs, and staffing are all great as well) It seems like they have a very good office culture between staff here. (As an outsider looking in) They have put up with my detail oriented, over aware of every little change in my dogs, and very patiently helped me A. Get to the bottom of changes or B. Found exam results to reassure me there is no greater health issue. I especially appreciate their willingness to work with me on how I train/handle my dogs to act under vet care! Be kind and explain any concerns/ways you want to try handling a situation and they will match your care 10x over. I also appreciate their willingness to listen to my less than traditional feeding (as long as it is nutritionally appropriate) of my dogs and do not immediately jump to use over the top treatments when unnecessary for conditions. They've been there for all of my dogs I've owned as an adult, and provided the most comfortable environment outside for when we had to put our old man Tyler down a few years ago. I am incredibly sad to leave the state and wish I could take the whole office with me!

Good hands is one of the best veterinary hospitals I have ever used. They are so thorough and care deeply for their patients. They are willing to go above and beyond to handle any concerns you may have. I highly recommend to anyone who loves their pet.

From the moment we walked in everyone was so kind and happy to see our Sweet Tart. The environment they’ve created is one that I think everyone with animals would love. Since our first visit, they have continued to update us on the status of everything we need and have made sure that Sweet Tart is doing well. Any questions or concerns we had have been quickly resolved, even before our first appointment. All of the staff we have interacted with have remembered us and made us feel welcome and happy to have chosen them as our vet office. I think anyone who chooses Good Hands will be in very good hands.
