Taking my Best friend to Golden Gate Animal Clinic is always a great experience. Although Duke is not real crazy about getting his shots, I know that the Professional team at the Clinic takes the best of care for Duke. Duke is 111 lbs of fun, who can be a hand full at times. The Team has never had a problem , because the Team knows how to handle an animal with stirn orders, yet are very compassionate. Pricing is what you would expect, fair. You can't ask for more then that. I'm sure it cost quite a bit to keep the doors open. Fact is I hope they do not read this, but I would pay more! Wonderful experience. Being a reptile 🦎 owner, it's hard to find a veterinarian who works with reptiles without a long road trip. Service and staff was so pleasant. This business was a great find.

Cannot recommend and never went back. Took dog there in the past. Dog had a seizure when they brought him back because they left his muzzle on too long and he probably got overheated. It was a precaution only BTW. They did not reply to the incident or show any concern. Vet was fine but office manager definitely had no customer skills. Spend your money somewhere else.

Of more than 20 years of owning pets requiring vet visits, this was the most unprofessional and incompetent office I’ve ever been to. This will be lengthy, but I felt the need to be detailed in my experience. I have two bunnies that required spay/neuter. From the start, this was an experience that left much to be desired. Upon rooming for my first visit, the vet tech seemed very uncomfortable with my small bunnies, stuttering over her words and appeared nervous when handling them. It was immediately apparent she lacked experience. She took one to the back and as I sat in the room waiting I became very uncomfortable myself. Bunnies are small creatures, and things can go south fast with lack of experience. She made me so uncomfortable that had she not taken one of my bunnies I’d have walked out right then. When she brought the bunny back, she was with doc. He seemed to have a decent base knowledge and reassured me that he sees rabbits all the time. He was the only good part of this experience. He made me feel better about my decision to bring them, so I decided to proceed. Upon checkout, I scheduled my bunnies for their procedure, discussed estimates, and even joked with the checkout lady about hectic schedules. She was also pleasant. I was told to withhold food at bedtime, which was my next hesitation, but I wasn’t going to argue. They know best, right? Wrong. Bunnies are very prone to GI stasis and rely heavily on constant food. This is an unsafe practice and indicative of a huge knowledge deficit. I should’ve cancelled then, but if you’ve ever had a male bunny in his prime, you understand my desire to rid the hormones as soon as possible. On procedure day, I dropped them off at 8am as scheduled. The interaction was brief, but pleasant. I filled out the desired paperwork and left them. At some point around 9, I received a text stating they emailed an estimate for me to review. I reviewed it and asked a question, which they failed to answer. I then received a text at 10 telling me to approve the estimates by 1030 or they wouldn’t be having surgery. First of all, I’m a busy provider as well and cannot be right next to my phone to answer immediately. I responded with an approval and stated this should’ve been handled prior to me dropping them off. I was told I needed to call and speak to the office manager. I called and spoke with someone claiming to be an office manager, and now understand why this office is so uncoordinated and unprofessional. She was immediately argumentative and defensive. She told me my response was rude so they were cancelling surgery. Simply stating that if something is required for surgery, it should be standard to provide before dropping off pets, was just too much for her to handle. Personally, I don’t think they have the knowledge or capabilities of handling rabbits so they did the right thing and cancelled. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until they squeezed an office visit charge out of me. My final point to this unbelievable experience was that when I picked them up, they were in such disarray it was infuriating. They still had not had water, some pellets had been haphazardly thrown in with them, and they were matted so much with pieces of padding, pee, and poop they had to be groomed. I asked to speak with the Dr to express my concerns but was denied that. Since this experience, I took them to Just for Pets wellness center and it was a fantastic experience. Head to their site to see my review, but in short they were extremely knowledgeable, beyond friendly, and it was a seamless experience. They’re in Ft Myers but completely worth the drive for small animals. For dogs/cats, I recommend Dr Butts and missionhills animal life. I took my dog to her for 6 years before he passed and that office is absolutely amazing as well. Do NOT waste your time at Golden Gate.

Top notch staff. Dr Lanier is awesome, professional, takes the time to explain the issue, options, best course of action. The staff is incredible, especially Michaela who is so patient with my pittie mix who can be a challenging patient! Kind and caring staff, good communicators, feel like I have an amazing team looking out for my pup.
