Our dog Baxter had been diagnosed with oral cancer (fibrosarcoma) 6 months prior and we felt it was time to send him over the rainbow bridge as he was beginning to suffer. It’s the hardest part of being a dog owner and we were dreading saying goodbye to him. We decided for euthanasia at home so Baxter could be in his own bed and surroundings. Dr Au immediately put us at ease and spent a few minutes stroking Baxter and talking to him. She also explained how he could easily have deteriorated further, had we not come to this decision. This was very good to hear and it did somewhat put our minds at rest along with Dr Au’s very calming presence which was much appreciated. She explained in detail how the process would go and was extremely gentle with Baxter throughout. He fell asleep quickly in his own bed and passed shortly afterwards. Dr Au was very respectful of Baxter even following his passing and gently handled his body. She also felt his lymph nodes and said it felt as if the cancer had most likely spread. Another weight off our minds, knowing we had made the right decision for Baxter. What I really liked about Dr Au was her professional and yet caring approach under very emotional circumstances. She moved the procedure along when needed but also gave us the time to properly say goodbye to our boy. We would HIGHLY recommend Dr Au and Gold Cost.

Welcome to Gold Coast Mobile Veterinary Care
For many pet owners, the comfort and familiarity of home are paramount, especially during a pet's final moments. Gold Coast Mobile Veterinary Care, with a mailing address at 9854 National Blvd #500, Los Angeles, CA 90034, USA, distinguishes itself by providing incredibly sensitive and compassionate in-home veterinary services, primarily focusing on end-of-life care. While not a traditional "Pet Hospital" with a physical clinic for general medical treatments, their specialized approach caters to a deeply personal and often difficult stage of pet ownership, offering a unique and invaluable service to the local community.
The "environment" for Gold Coast Mobile Veterinary Care is unique: it is the pet's own home. This contrasts sharply with the clinical setting of a traditional veterinary hospital, significantly reducing stress and anxiety for the pet and their owners. Dr. Au and her team bring a calming and respectful presence directly into the familiar surroundings where a pet feels most secure and loved. This eliminates the anxiety of car rides, waiting rooms, and unfamiliar smells or sounds that can often accompany a visit to a physical clinic. The focus is entirely on creating a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere within the pet's natural habitat. This means the environment is personalized by the owner – a favorite blanket, a cherished bed, or a quiet corner in the living room – making the final moments as serene as possible. The very nature of a mobile service for end-of-life care emphasizes the emotional well-being of both the pet and the grieving family, making the home an ideal, stress-free setting.
The core service offered by Gold Coast Mobile Veterinary Care is compassionate in-home pet euthanasia. This service is designed to provide a peaceful and dignified passing for pets in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, surrounded by their loved ones. Dr. Au's approach is highly personalized, focusing on supporting both the pet and the grieving family through the difficult decision-making process and the procedure itself. As highlighted in customer reviews, the process involves thorough explanations, gentle handling of the pet, and allowing ample time for goodbyes. Beyond euthanasia, Gold Coast Mobile Veterinary Care may also offer related services to support pet owners through grief, such as guidance on memorialization and aftercare options. While their primary focus is on end-of-life care, some mobile vet services also offer other in-home treatments like wellness checks, vaccinations, and minor illness care, to help pets avoid clinic stress; however, for Gold Coast Mobile Veterinary Care, their public reviews and stated mission strongly indicate a specialization in compassionate end-of-life care. They are known for their careful handling of the deceased pet's body and their arrangements for cremation services, working with trusted third-party cremation providers to ensure the pet's remains are handled with respect and returned to the family if desired.
Several features make Gold Coast Mobile Veterinary Care, particularly under the care of Dr. Au, highly commendable. Her experience, developed after practicing for seven years in a clinical setting, gives her a deep understanding of veterinary medicine, which she now applies to specialized in-home care. The reviews underscore her professionalism combined with a profound caring approach, where she provides necessary medical information and guidance while also respecting the emotional needs of the family. The ability to schedule appointments and receive timely communication, including texts about arrival times, adds to the seamless and supportive service experience. The service's commitment to allowing families the time to say a proper goodbye without feeling rushed is another critical feature that sets them apart. Furthermore, the provision of a mailing address (9854 National Blvd #500, Los Angeles, CA 90034, USA) and clear contact information (phone: (310) 528-4026, mobile: +1 310-528-4026, email: doctorau@gcmvc.com) ensures accessibility for those in need.

Apr 27, 2025 · James McCourtIt's never easy as a pet guardian when you have to make the decision to ease your pet's suffering. Tommy and Dr. Au were wonderful and compassionate with both the scheduling process and visit. They answered all our questions and were able to help us give our boy a peaceful sendoff in the comfort of home surrounded by his family.
Mar 08, 2025 · Kathrin MeyerMaking the decision to help our 18 year old Doberman Brody across the rainbow bridge after his rapid health decline was the hardest thing we had to do. Dr Jeanine Au and Tommy are the kindest, most compassionate, caring, loving vets we have ever met that anyone in this situation could hope for. We could write a novel about how much we appreciate them for taking a complete stranger's worst days and making it bearable by being an ear to listen to and a shoulder to cry on. There is a reason I could not find 1 negative review about GCMVC. Thank you Dr. Au for sitting with us through the entire process and giving Brody love, compassion, and one last new friend before his journey. You are a saint.
Apr 14, 2025 · Josh SpiegelDr Jeanine Au could not have been more wonderful for such a difficult time at the end of our cat’s life. She took such genuine loving care of our beloved kitty during and after her last moments and I cannot recommend her enough. Dr Au understands cats and cat people and is gentle, kind , patient and caring.
Sep 28, 2024 · elyse marshall hookWorthy of a hundred stars. The kindness I was shown was immeasurable. I used her services to put my senior dog Elvis to rest, one of the hardest decision I ever had to make. It was an extra heartbreaking moment, as Elvis had been my husband's dog for 20 years, and my husband had passed away just months before. I knew I was going to be a wreck. She was so kind and gentle, empathic, and patient. I felt she understood that I was in the depths of grief. I was surrounded by some of my BFFs who had helped me throughout the painful year, and she fit in as if she was one of us, a friend we already knew. The process was as smooth and gentle as such a painful moment can be, thanks to her knowledge and care. She explained the process and gave me time to ask questions. She didn't rush out after, she gave us plenty of time. We made sure Elvis's kitty sisters got to say goodbye, and that we got to have some final moments with him. She wrapped him carefully in blankets in a basket and handled him with love and respect. His ashes were returned with care as well. I know it takes a special kind of person to do this kind of work and Dr. Au is that special person. I am so grateful for everything. ❤
