Relocated to Michigan in April 2023. All five of my pets were originally with another veterinarian clinic. However, I could tell that my dogs were not comfortable there. We tried Georgetown Animal Hospital and all of my pets are very happy! Including my most skittish dog. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. The doctors are fabulous! I never feel rushed when I bring a pet in to be seen. So happy we made the change!

Feb 13, 2024 · Sandy KrcAbsolutely awful experience. I brought my dog Neo here due to issues eating his food. We fed him Raw for 6 years no issues, Kirkland brand kibble for another 1.5-2 years. In the last few months he slows started to eat less and less. This has been going on for months now. I brought Neo for a routine checkup only to discover he was about 10 pounds less than what he was a year prior. Immediately from the tech we get what seems like accusatory looks and remarks as if we are neglecting our dog in some way. They seemed to suggest we weren't doing something correctly, not feeding him enough, etc. They try to give him a can of dog food and dog treats while at the vet, he doesn't eat it (shocker) No suggestions after the first visit just that he was Vitamin B12 deficient. Just accusatory looks and remarks. We tried another food that he seemed to eat a little better but still wasn't eating enthusiastically and not as much as he should and wouldn't eat things he liked such as peanut butter or other treats. I called to let them know days later he still wasn't eating like he should and asked for suggestions. Dr. Dorner suggested Prednisone and some other supplement we didn't end up giving him due to him eating a little better. Dr. Dorner said we give it some time with him eating better and if he gains weight then we won't proceed with the supplements. Fast forward 1-2 weeks and he had another checkup but he's down another pound. We get the Prednisone supplement to try and and scheduled weekly B12 shots as he was still deficient (He's eating meat so this shouldn't be the case) sure enough he seems a little more enthusiastic to eat and actually eating more food than he was. This continued for another week before his 3rd checkup. Neo gets weighed in the 3rd checkup only to find after eating better, eating the right amounts of food he's down another pound. Now at this point it seems obvious there is an underlying issue we aren't grasping, if the Prednisone helped it's not doing much and B12 shots are helping with malnutrition from not eating but again, doesn't help solve the problem. At this point we take him in for another B12 shot only for them to realize he is down another pound and instead of scheduling some cancer tests, as it seems more and more likely that's what the issue is, they suggest feeding him rice. REALLY?!? My dog isn't eating, we've been going here for a year total but several months with this one issue and you're suggestion after multiple attempts to solve an eating problem the suggestion is to feed my dog RICE? That's it. No other options or suggestions other than more accusatory remarks that maybe what we are feeding him isn't good enough. I have to keep reminding them cancer tests were an option as well and that the food I'm feeding him is not the issue as the last week he ate what he should and still lost weight. I call pretty upset at this point as my dog is starving himself in front of my eyes and this place doesn't seem to care that much. After my last call just last week Friday I mentioned YET AGAIN doing cancer testing as nothing is making sense and all suggestions weren't working. The tech on the phone said she will have Dr. Dorner contact me back on Monday and you would think with the urgency of this situation I would have gotten a call back at some point Monday. Monday passes, Tuesday passes, it's now Wednesday before they are likely closed for Thanksgiving the rest of the week and not one call from any of the doctors or tech from this business. I would write more but ran out of characters to use. TLDR: This vet is awful and doesn't care about your pets, Dr. Dorner specifically. They want money and bodies flowing through the door. Anything beyond general checkups will not get the time and attention needed and even those are questionable. If you want to get a prescription for your animal they will block your ability to do so unless you want to funnel the money through them and the companies they are sponsored by. Take your business elsewhere if you love your pets.
