Highly recommend, pricing was very reasonable for in home services (we compared and totals were similar to going into a vet). They do not charge extra for size of dog, truly flat rate pricing, no unexpected costs (website detailed everything). Very respectful to communicate with and thoroughly explained to us what would take place upon arrival. The vet is clearly very skilled, she was affectionate towards our dog and he truly seemed to have no pain as he transitioned. Extremely compassionate towards us and our dog during services. You will be treated kindly during this difficult time if you choose to use Paws to Wings!

Welcome to From Paws to Wings In-Home Euthanasia and Pet Cremation
From Paws to Wings In-Home Euthanasia and Pet Cremation, located at 2121 Simpson Rd, Owensville, MO 65066, offers a uniquely compassionate and essential service within the veterinary care landscape. Unlike traditional pet hospitals that focus on general health and emergency treatments, From Paws to Wings specializes exclusively in providing end-of-life care for beloved pets, particularly through in-home euthanasia and comprehensive pet cremation services. This specialization addresses a critical need for families facing the difficult decision of saying goodbye to their animal companions, offering a peaceful and dignified transition in a familiar and comforting environment. They can be reached at (573) 205-5006 or mobile at +1 573-205-5006.
The core of From Paws to Wings' service revolves around bringing the veterinary care experience directly to the pet's home. This eliminates the stress and anxiety often associated with car rides to a traditional clinic and the unfamiliarity of a clinical setting during a pet's final moments. The "environment" they provide is the comfort and familiarity of the pet's own home, surrounded by their family and cherished belongings. This focus on a peaceful and familiar setting is paramount to their mission. Reviews consistently highlight the incredibly compassionate and respectful approach of the veterinary team, particularly Dr. Magan Scheel, who is noted for her skill and affection towards pets. The team understands the profound emotional impact of pet loss and strives to create an atmosphere of kindness, empathy, and professional support for grieving families. This is a deliberate and conscious effort to make a deeply painful experience as gentle as possible, allowing pets to transition without pain or fear, and families to grieve privately and meaningfully.
From Paws to Wings offers a focused range of services, specifically designed to provide end-of-life care with dignity and respect:
- In-Home Euthanasia: This is their primary service. The veterinarian travels to the pet owner's home, allowing the pet to remain in their most comfortable and familiar surroundings. This service is designed to be as stress-free and peaceful as possible for the pet. The vet is clearly skilled in administering the process, ensuring no pain during transition, and is extremely compassionate towards both the pet and the grieving family. They offer consultations to help owners determine if it's the right time and thoroughly explain the process upon arrival, ensuring transparency and understanding during a challenging moment.
- Pet Cremation Services: Following the in-home euthanasia, From Paws to Wings also facilitates pet cremation. This provides a complete end-of-life care solution, allowing families to choose how they wish to honor their pet's memory. While the provided information doesn't detail the types of cremation (e.g., private, communal), other online information confirms that they offer both in-home euthanasia and after-care cremation services, indicating they can handle the transport of the deceased pet for cremation. Their website also mentions that Patrick Scheel is the crematory director, ensuring pets are treated with the "utmost respect during the after-care process" and facilitating ash returns.
- Hospice Consults: Although not explicitly detailed in the reviews, their website states that they also provide hospice consults. This service helps pet owners manage their pet's comfort and quality of life in their final days or weeks, offering guidance and support before the decision for euthanasia is made.
- After-Care Support: Beyond the immediate services, the profound level of compassion and understanding expressed in reviews indicates an implicit after-care support system. While not formal counseling, the gentle and professional demeanor of the staff offers significant comfort during the grieving process.
From Paws to Wings stands out significantly due to several key features that set them apart in the veterinary care category, particularly as a specialized "Pet Hospital" for end-of-life care:
- In-Home Service Model: This is the most crucial differentiating factor. By bringing services directly to the home, they alleviate significant stress for both pets and owners, allowing for a more peaceful and private passing. This avoids the often-distressing car ride and the clinical environment of a traditional veterinary office.
- Transparent and Flat-Rate Pricing: Customers highly praise their reasonable pricing, noting that it is comparable to or even better than clinic visits for in-home services. A significant feature is their "truly flat rate pricing" with "no unexpected costs," regardless of the dog's size. Their website details everything, ensuring complete transparency, which is invaluable during an emotionally vulnerable time.
- Exceptional Compassion and Empathy: This is repeatedly emphasized in customer testimonials. The veterinary professional (Dr. Larry mentioned in the previous example's reviews, but for From Paws to Wings, the general "vet" and "sweet people" are highlighted) and staff are consistently described as "extremely compassionate," "very sweet," and "very understanding." They are commended for making the difficult time bearable by treating both pets and their owners with profound kindness.
- Professionalism and Skill: Despite the emotional nature of their work, the team maintains high levels of professionalism. The vet is described as "clearly very skilled," ensuring a pain-free transition for the pet. This combination of skill and empathy is a rare and highly valued quality.
- Dedication to Easing the Burden of Pet Loss: The entire service is designed to help ease one of the most difficult aspects of pet ownership. Their focus is on creating a peaceful passing and providing comfort to the grieving family, truly appreciating the "love of animals" and what they do to help.
- Convenience for Pet Owners: The mobile nature of the service, where they "come to them," is a significant convenience for pet owners who know it's time but may struggle with transportation or prefer the privacy of their home.
The genuine experiences shared by customers serve as the most compelling promotional information for From Paws to Wings. These testimonials directly address the anxieties and needs of pet owners facing end-of-life decisions:
