Friendship Veterinary Clinic

In November 2023 my cat was having an emergency and I drove to Friendship. The vet was running late and so I drove to another emergency vet, Blue Pearle, to realize they were closed. I then drove back to Friendship and was turned away and then went all the way to Newport News. My cat was euthanized and in addition to the euthanasia fee, I paid an astronomical urgent care fee, and I waisted precious last minutes driving, when I should have been seen by my primary vet. Fast forward to yesterday 1/14/2025, I called because my pug is showing signs of an upper respiratory infection. I have duel residency and often have her seen in NC, primarily because of my experience when my cat, Dilly, passed away. The vet hold me that the soonest they could see me is January 23rd, and if I needed assistance sooner, to go to an urgent care. Why does this office not have walk in appointments? Pugs are fragile genetic freaks and waiting a week when she has green discharge is not acceptable. This office needs to change their policies and be more accommodating. Animals need sick visits just like humans. If you are going to charge expensive prices, at least offer timely care. In all, despite this office being close to where I live, until the situation regarding my cat passing is rectified and urgent care animal hours are added, I will not be using this vet.

I love this clinic. Our dog (Durin) tends to be difficult at the vet sometimes and the vet staff are amazing and kind even when he acts out, eventually prescribing a mild sedative to help make visits smoother (and more predictable) for everyone. We usually see Dr. Sandstrom and she's absolutely amazing and very good with our dog. She has really helped us manage his skin conditions/allergies (he's adopted and at ~7yo is too old for some allergy interventions). Prices are very reasonable as well. Given our location the drive isn't the best but so worth it for the care our dog receives. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone!

The staff at Friendship is always so wonderful! They are friendly, helpful, and will answer just about any question I have, if they can, when I call. And if it's something they can't answer immediately, they always fo their best to find the the answers for me. They are not an emergency clinic, but they have always been there for me and my dogs. They are truly an amazing group. I really appreciate them.

I took both my puppies here for their first check up and shots. Staff is very friendly, always smiling. The vets assistant got all the answers to my questions very promptly. Prices are very reasonable, actually cheaper then I thought they would be. And the vet who treated my puppies was awesome. Thank you everyone, we enjoyed our visits.

Great communication. My dog needed some pretty serious treatment after a routine checkup, and they were all over it with a solid plan to get him back in action. The receptionists are well versed in the treatments as well; they are a great resource when I have questions.
