Dr. Y is a wonderful doctor, I went to her as I felt like my previous clinic was too expensive and wanted better, more affordable care. I was very impressed with my first visit with her and have no complaints as far as her kindness and professionalism as a veterinarian. With that said, the only reason for the 3 stars and why I didn't return after a few visits, is because Dr. Y's care when it comes to nutrition, does not align with how I feed my animals and maintain their perfect health. Dr. Y sells and prescribes prescription diet foods in her clinic, I believe it's both Royal Canin and Hills Science Diet. Though they make up a large share of the food sold in the pet industry, these are unequivocally the worst foods you could feed your pets (kibble in general, really) and linked to obesity, diabetes, urinary tract issues, and chronic dehydration. I encourage pet owners to please educate themselves on 1) proper nutrition for your pets from sources/articles/studies that are not generated from pet food companies that have a stake in your business 2) the money/commission that vets make from selling Hills and Royal Canin at their office 3) that their nutrition classes are taught by pet food companies like Hills. It was heartbreaking for me to see how many overweight animals I saw at Dr. Y's clinic and the dozens of prescription diet foods that were waiting to be picked up by her clients. This review isn't to disparage Dr. Y at all, like most vets, she means well, but the veterinary industry churns out vets under the profound influence of pet food companies that pay top dollar to build courses and write the textbooks to educate vets into believing that the food they are selling is what's healthy for your animals. In reality, that food fattens these companies' purses and designed to keep your animals sick and keep you coming to the vet office for more and more issues that keep cropping up. I know this sounds like a conspiracy theory, but all I can tell you I do not feed a dry food diet (or any food for any of the big 3- Hills, Purina, and any food owned by from Mars Petcare) and all the animals I've owned never had any issues, yet ALL of my family and friends who feed their pets dry food suffer from allergies, skin issues, urinary tract infections, diabetes, and constantly struggle with bringing down the weight of their pet no matter how much they keep reducing their food. I encourage everyone to read up on the multiple lawsuits against Hills Science Diet right now as far as the lack of a transparency in Hills prescription diet food (hint: it's a marketing gimmick, there's no medication in it whatsoever and you're paying lots of money for horrible, cheap ingredients) and the class action lawsuit ongoing as of Feb of this year on how they fabricated the claim that grain-free foods cause DCM in dogs (I encourage everyone to read this lawsuit, it is highly informative onto the unethical practices in which they conduct their studies and sell their food). Sorry for the long review. This review is just to help encourage her clients to do research and be more educated about the health of their animals, but after all, it is up to you whether you decide you should consider looking for another vet.

Dec 04, 2024 · JadeWe love the team at Freetown Animal Hospital. Unfortunately, one of our dogs always has something going on and we and in often- they are great with her! Both Dr Y and Dr P have gone above and beyond our expectations. We’ve felt that they start with conservative measures/treatments when they can, and when it’s not possible their treatment plan is sensible. Risks/benefits/alternatives treatment are well explained. The staff is truly caring and we appreciate them!
May 26, 2023 · Brittany HuntI have taken my cat Neo to Dr Yadiapalli at Freetown Animal Hospital for 9 years. He has recently had a health issue, and she has been wonderful in helping diagnose and treat him. She initiates contact with his Internal Med Dr. and helps me understand his condition and treatment plan. She is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and kind.
Mar 28, 2024 · Carol KellumI've been dealing with them for a little over a year with my sick cat. They've been helpful and professional. The last visit was the toughest when I had to lay Bearclaw to rest. I can not stress how accommodating and helpful the staff was. On top of that they were kind and understanding. The key moment for me was the doctor's upfront and honest diagnosis about my cat. I can only imagine how many times they have to deliver this kind of news, it can't be easy. It sounds weird to give a 5 star review about this subject but they took care of my cat till the end, showing him love and comfort. Thank you.
May 27, 2023 · Kamau CaldwellI had to find a new vet in my neighborhood. Freetown Animal Hospital were able to schedule two of my cats with no drama.
