Welcome to Fredonia Animal Hospital
Fredonia Animal Hospital, situated at 10049 NY-60, Fredonia, NY 14063, USA, is a long-standing and highly respected "Pet Hospital" that has been a cornerstone of veterinary care in the Fredonia community since its establishment in 1969 by Dr. Josef Powell. Since 1999, the hospital has been under the dedicated ownership of Dr. Jon Redfield, continuing its legacy of providing high-quality, compassionate care for the beloved dogs and cats of Fredonia and the surrounding Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and southern Erie counties. You can connect with them by phone at (716) 679-1561 or +1 716-679-1561.
Fredonia Animal Hospital is designed to offer a professional and comforting environment for both pets and their owners. The facility is equipped with modern diagnostic tools to ensure efficient and effective veterinary practice. This includes an updated blood lab for quick and accurate analysis of blood samples, crucial for rapid diagnoses. They also utilize digital X-ray technology, which provides detailed imaging to aid in precise diagnoses and comprehensive treatment planning. The hospital strives to create a calming atmosphere, recognizing that a visit to the vet can be stressful for animals. The overall impression conveyed by client feedback and information about their equipment suggests a well-organized and diligently maintained facility.
It is important for prospective clients to be aware of their operational guidelines. Fredonia Animal Hospital operates strictly by appointment only, and they do not accept walk-ins. Due to increased patient demand and widespread staffing challenges in the veterinary field, availability for routine well-visits and vaccinations may require booking one to three weeks in advance. Same-day or same-week appointments for routine visits are generally not possible. For established clients with ill or injured pets requiring urgent attention, the staff makes every effort to accommodate, though their schedule is often double-booked with a single doctor. They are not staffed 24 hours a day; therefore, pets requiring hospitalization with after-hours monitoring are referred to higher-level emergency hospitals. For the safety of all, especially given their location on a busy highway, it's mandatory that dogs are leashed and cats are in secure carriers upon arrival.
Fredonia Animal Hospital provides a comprehensive array of veterinary services, addressing various facets of pet health and wellness. Their core mission is to deliver complete care, encompassing both preventative medicine and the treatment of illnesses and injuries. Key services include:
Wellness and Preventative Care: A cornerstone of their practice, this includes routine physical examinations and a full schedule of vaccinations to protect pets against common diseases. This proactive approach is vital for early detection and prevention of serious health issues, often leading to more effective and less invasive treatments. They also offer discounted services for seeing eye dogs, underscoring their commitment to supporting service animals.
Diagnostic Services: Leveraging their modern equipment, the hospital conducts various diagnostic tests, including in-house blood work and digital radiography (X-rays). These tools are indispensable for accurately identifying health conditions and formulating effective treatment plans.
Surgery: Fredonia Animal Hospital performs a range of surgical procedures, ensuring pets receive necessary interventions for various medical conditions.
Dental Care: Recognizing the critical link between oral health and overall pet well-being, they offer comprehensive dental services to maintain healthy teeth and gums for pets.
Parasite Control: They provide various prescription-only flea and tick prevention products, including Seresto Flea Collars, Advantix Topical, NexGard Oral Chews, and Simparica Trio Oral Chews. They strongly recommend year-round prevention, especially for pets with flea allergies. They also offer Heartgard Plus and Interceptor Plus for heartworm prevention (RX ONLY). Products purchased directly from the hospital are guaranteed by the manufacturer, ensuring authenticity and effectiveness.
Client Education: The hospital provides access to thousands of articles about pet health and behavior, all authored by veterinarians. This empowers clients with valuable information for at-home care and informed decision-making.
Types of Pets Seen: Fredonia Animal Hospital specializes exclusively in providing veterinary care for dogs and cats.
The highly educated staff at Fredonia Animal Hospital demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous professional development. This is because the products are shipped directly from the manufacturer, staff are properly educated on dosage and administration, and there is no risk of counterfeit products, ensuring efficacy and peace of mind for pet owners.
Powerful Word-of-Mouth: The consistently glowing customer reviews are a testament to the hospital's dedication to excellent service and act as a compelling form of promotion. The sentiment expressed by satisfied clients is a testament to the hospital's dedication to excellent service. Due to high demand, they are currently not taking new clients at this time, which prospective clients should keep in mind and check for updates on their availability.
