Fox Lake Animal Hospital

I've been going to Fox Lake Animal Hospital for a couple of years now. They have cared for all three of my furbabies. From the front desk staff to the vet techs all the way to the doctors they have all been great every single time. I started going there because of the cost of care.. It has been so much more affordable compared to other clinics. I was really hoping the care was just as good and they definitely did not disappoint. Thank you to the entire staff for all you do!❤

The vet's at Fox Lake Hospital are very knowledgeable & very compassionate & really care about our dogs! Quality care & very affordable pricing! We're so glad we found Fox Lakr Hospital & Dr Bohdan Ridowski & staff so many years ago! Wonderful service! My dog got into a fight with a family dog and tore his ear into two, almost .5inch laceration. We got there a few min before it opened, parking lot already full and people already being seen, which we thought that seemed awesome as they’re willing to take patients even before open. Everyone at the front desk was SO nice. After explaining the injury, the front desk person had a tech come look at my dog real quick to determine if he needed to be seen asap or if he could wait. I had already bandaged my dogs ear and it wasn’t bleeding so after inspecting it, the tech very nicely said it could wait. The front desk notified me right away it was a first come first serve basis and that there were already a few people in line. We waited about an hour and a half until we were called (what do you expect for basically a vet ER center? Of course there’s a wait!). We worked with tech Kathy T and Dr. Alicia Ragni who were awesome! Very kind, answered my questions and treated my dog perfectly. He had to be put under to get his ear sewed, the total was $561 which was LESS than what they quoted me for! They even cut his nails for free! The surgery and everything took an hour and a half and the tech explained all of his after care very thoroughly. I would recommend this place to everyone! Thanks for taking great care of our boy.

If I could rate this a zero stars I would. I brought my dog in because he was having some issues with his paws, and his ear was a tiny bit red. They prescribed my dog a boat load of medications. The next day my dog threw up from the meds. So I called them on a Friday and left a message because nobody answered the phone. There voice-mail says they can't answer the phone because too many ppl are calling and they will call you back but they dont. The next day my poor dog woke up yelping and screeching in pain and couldn't walk. I had to physically carry my 45 pound dog down the stairs and outside to potty and he could not walk it hurt my heart so badly watching him being in pain. At this point I started blowing up the animal hospital with calls and messages and they would not call me back or even pick up. I understand that it's a walk in clinic but how can you just prescribe medication without being available the next 5 days to reply is something going wrong. Anyway when I finally got a hold of them Tuesday morning they were so rude to me. The first women I spoke with was yelling at me otp, I had to speak with someone else. Her name was Pam. It started out fine but she alao ended up yelling at me. All I wanted to know was what to do with my dog who couldn't walk at this point but was completely fine before I gave him the meds. She says "we'll your dog is old and medicine is tricky so idk what to tell you".... basically she meant bring your dog back and pay another $400 and well tell you what to do... I think that is evil. I live an hour away and I spent my hard earned money the first time in hopes it would relieve some itching and allergies my dog had but instead they mis diagnosed and mis managed medications to my dog without doing any tests what's so ever. And the refused to take responsibility. Nearly killed my poor beagle and then refused to help when I told them the situation. If you love your dogs don't bring then here unless you like horrible customer service. 0 stars.
