Based on available information, Four Paws Veterinary Clinic, SC operates as a Pet Hospital providing veterinary services. One long-term client expressed a very positive sentiment, stating that the clinic has taken care of their pets from childhood into adulthood, indicating a history of service within the community and a level of trust built over time. This suggests a familiar and potentially long-standing presence as a local Pet Hospital.
However, it's important to also consider other feedback. One recent review details a negative experience during an anal gland expression appointment. The reviewer mentioned a perceived coldness from the receptionist and expressed concern regarding the handling of their nervous dog by a veterinary technician. According to this review, the dog, hiding under the owner's husband's legs, was allegedly pulled by the harness. The reviewer also stated that their offer to walk the dog to the back with the technician was declined. Furthermore, the review describes an attempt by the technician to pick up the scared dog, resulting in a nip. The reviewer expressed distress that their dog then received a bite record and that the bite was reported as "unprovoked." This individual also referenced reading about a prior incident at the clinic involving a broken jaw during a nail trim, leading them to decide to seek veterinary care elsewhere.
Given this mixed feedback, it's challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the clinic's environment, services, and features based solely on these two contrasting experiences. Typically, a Pet Hospital like Four Paws Veterinary Clinic, SC would offer a range of services aimed at maintaining and improving the health of pets. These often include routine check-ups, vaccinations, dental care, parasite prevention, and treatment for illnesses and injuries. Depending on the facility, they might also offer surgical services, diagnostic imaging (like X-rays), and laboratory testing.
Features of a Pet Hospital often include the expertise and compassion of the veterinary team, the cleanliness and comfort of the facilities, and the range of services provided. While one review praises the clinic, the other raises significant concerns about the handling of nervous animals and the communication following an incident. This suggests that experiences can vary, and individual pet owners may have different perceptions based on their interactions.
Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided text for Four Paws Veterinary Clinic, SC. Pet Hospitals sometimes offer special deals or introductory offers to attract new clients or promote specific services, but there is no mention of such promotions in the feedback provided.

Dec 30, 2024 · Teena PeartI should have read the reviews before I scheduled an anal gland expression with this vet's office. The receptionist I spoke to on the phone was very cold while just checking for an appointment availability, which should have just made me quit right there. My dog has gone to numerous vets over the 7 years that I've had him and he gets nervous and scared, like a lot of other dogs do. When my husband took him in today, he was hiding under his legs and the tech was pulling him out by his harness to the point where it almost came out. My husband offered to walk the dog to the back with the tech (something we do with anyone who is taking him away from us for some reason), but he was denied. When pulling my dog out of hiding from his harness didn't work, the tech then fully bent over to try and pick my dog up instead. He nipped her because he was afraid and now my dog has a bite record because someone doesn't understand how to work with nervous animals, which should be an absolute basic for anyone that works with animals. Who in their right mind tries to lean over a dog and pick them up when they are obviously scared? And to then report my dog to the police and say that the bite was "unprovoked" is the biggest disrespect to my dog and my family. I should have known better to read the reviews before calling and scheduling an appointment, as their recent incident with breaking a dog's jaw when completing a nail trim is abhorrent. I will never bring any of my pets here EVER again out of convenience and will be instead making the 45 minute drive to Companion Animal Hospital in Madison for vet visits, nail trims, and anal gland expressions. Do not trust staff here to handle your dog with care and respect.
Jul 24, 2024 · Andrea D'AlfonsoWe have been taking our pets to Four Paws since before they even had their building ready for business. They have treated all of our animals over the decades with care and compassion. The have helped us through routine care, diabetic cats, cancer in our dogs, and most recently surgery and recovery on our dogs knee. The Doctors and their staff are great. (ps. This is not a fake review.)
Jul 13, 2024 · Farrell MaginnisWe've been coming to Four Paws for years. They are amazing and extremely great with animals. We left another vet to come here and have found them honest, humble, and perfect. They always ask when they perform services, give you estimates, and treat your animals like family. I couldn't ask for anything better for my pets.
Jul 16, 2024 · Kelly KellerIncredible people who care about my pets as their own. Treated us like real people not just a wallet. Name another vet who will text you updates on your kitties the first time you board them? I can’t. Thank you Ashley (and staff) for listening to me at length and helping me through any pet issue I have!
