Truly Exceptional Care! I can't say enough good things about Foster Hospital for Small Animals. I rushed in after discovering a deeply embedded tick under my dog’s ear, and not only did they take us in immediately — the vet waited after hours just to see him as her last case of the night. She handled everything with incredible care, patience, and professionalism. And then, to my complete surprise, she didn’t even charge me. In a world where veterinary costs can be overwhelming, this act of kindness and compassion meant everything. The team at Foster Hospital is not just skilled — they are genuinely empathetic animal lovers who put your pet’s well-being above all else. My dog left safe, calm, and tick-free thanks to them. May 19, 2025 · shery sorialI cannot say enough positive things about Foster Hospital for Small Animals! I brought my Boston Terrier in after he had surgery at another vet, where things took a sudden turn for the worse. When I arrived, my dog didn’t even look alive, and I was terrified. But Dr. Gausch and Dr. Boham (and the rest of the amazing staff) quickly took him into their care, and I immediately felt a sense of relief. They developed a clear and thorough plan to get my dog back to a healthy state, and they absolutely delivered! Over the next 4 days, they kept me informed with updates twice a day, explaining my dog’s progress, test results, and the next steps. It was clear that my dog was in excellent hands. The front desk staff was also incredible—professional, friendly, and comforting during this incredibly stressful time. I had already visited three other vets(in one day!), but Foster Hospital was the only place that gave my dog the care and attention he needed. Thanks to them, I was able to bring my dog home, happy and healthy. I’m so grateful for everyone at Foster Hospital. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for compassionate, skilled care for your pets!
Apr 30, 2025 · Tina R.I had appointments with dermatology and they were great. but internal medicine is an absolute mess. they really need to employ permanent, experienced doctors, in all departments. the care is too inconsistent in the ER also. in the ER some are good, one implied I should put my cat down, one of the last ones did not know what was going on and therefore put my cat's life in jeopardy. my cat should not have been tossed around between different IM doctors every month. his case was complex and I really needed someone consistent and reliable. I had went an entire month without being able to speak to a doctor, because for some reason absolutely no one told me she wasn't working in the section anymore and they didn't transfer my cat's care to anyone else. and I had been asking to speak with the doctor every week and kept getting told they would reach out. when they finally decided to transfer him to someone more experienced with his condition, my cat died before they even got to meet. he had only been under the care of internal medicine for 4 months before he passed. I have issue with how unavailable the ultrasounds are. they really need to hire more people, and they should be available 24/7 and not just on call. ultrasounds are far too critical of a diagnostic tool to have a patient wait for one for several days, even when they are hospitalized. every time the doctors deemed it not urgent to call in a tech, after diagnosis it was apparent if there was an earlier diagnosis, treatment would have been more successful. the last time, by the time he was diagnosed, it was too late for any treatment to be worthwhile. all his organs were failing. wait times are ridiculous. scheduled appointments were an almost all day endeavor. ER makes you wait all day to even know what's happening, even if they told you to come in right away because the situation is life threatening. they would always complain my cat was stressed but wouldn't allow him to stay with me while waiting. of course he's going to be stressed if you're leaving him in the back with all the other animals for hours. it was unreasonable for them to want him to be on higher doses of sedative to accommodate this, even though I told them the side effects made clear it was too high a dose. I found out the drugs they used for anesthesia were not supposed to be used for renal patients. they did not stop using them, and were not concerned enough about how badly it made my cat sick. I didn't understand why they didn't use local anesthesia when it was viable. I also don't understand why they once did anesthesia without my consent, because it's not cheap. had issues with billing because for some reason the front desk staff does not charge the actual costs of things. the bills need to be audited so about 3 times I got charged later because the up front cost I paid wasn't accurate. at the time I am paying, it should be accurate. I should not be getting surprise charges later due to error. also, they have some rules that were detrimental to my cat's care. he needed a specialty human medicine injection. they would not allow me to script it out and they would not allow me to do the injections myself. it was just a simple subcutaneous injection without any side effects. so I had to pay $300 for a 1 month supply and then almost $100 every week to have his levels checked and have a tech do the shot. they told me they would not give the shot if his levels were up. I told them I wanted to use the whole bottle because I paid for it, and the dosing schedule is supposed to be no more than 3 weeks in between, otherwise it is ineffective, according to all research, that apparently TUFTS never read because they left him without a dose for over a month because they didn't think I wanted it because it was expensive, which was never something I said. there is good here because they have specialists and special treatments, most staff is compassionate and knowledgeable, and they do research studies which can be beneficial, but they really need to get things together.
May 21, 2025 · KeiThis was the best experience I ever had! I brought my bunny Maple due to him limping. The moment you walk through the door you can feel the welcoming love. The receptionist was really nice and professional. The nurse who took his vitals was very welcoming and caring. She updated me with his vitals within 10 minutes of me being there. The other nurse did a full examination and was very polite, gentle and patience !!!! The Doctor who took care of him was phenomenal ! She was so caring, she explained everything clearly, explained what would occur, how it would occur. She left no questions for me to asked ! I was constantly getting updates on what was going on. I was there for a few hours, but worried free due to them having such confidence in what they were doing. I felt very comfortable the entire time waiting. The professionalism, the eye contact, the environment was definitely worth the drive to get the best care for my bunny. I very thankful my son and I was able to bring our baby back home. I’m so appreciative of this team ! They are great!
Oct 14, 2024 · Deusa DeeI visited this animal hospital yesterday with my dog sat in the waiting room for three hours before speaking to a nurse, then brought back into the waiting room for another hour to wait to speak to the doctor for the doctor to tell me that they wanna keep my dog overnight for further investigation After speaking with them I requested an x-ray and she told me that there is more important dogs in this hospital than your dog right now so I will place him on the list or you can leave your dog here overnight and we will get him an x-ray at some point tomorrow . Every dog should be treated the same, not differently because they’re not dying. My husband then sat there for another 2 1/2 hours before they gave him an x-ray. There is no need For a customer to be treated that way, and we should not have to wait almost all day in a waiting room for our dogs to be seen. I will never ever bring my animals back to this hospital.
