Thank you for giving me so much extra time with my Buddy. Finally diagnosed with cushings disease after 4 years of a dozen different vets that wouldn't listen and kept telling me he was just old (he was only 7 when symptoms started!). One of those other vets went as far as telling me to measure his water intake in a multi pet household instead of just testing him for cushings! 馃槕 Dr Bache went ahead with testing at 11 years old and sure enough, he had it and we proceeded with treatment. He just turned 17, and up until this year or so, those years were all amazing! Though, no amount of time is ever enough, I owe it to him and staff for giving me so many extra good days with my baby and I will be forever grateful I found this place. They have been there for Buddy and I (and my other pets) thru so many ups and downs and I appreciate always taking care of us when I was probably the most annoying/needy client to date. What can I say, I love my dog 馃槄 sorry 馃槉

Welcome to Forestville Animal Hospital

Welcome to Forestville Animal Hospital, a Pet Hospital located at 27 Main St, Forestville, NY 14062, USA. Serving the local community, Forestville Animal Hospital appears to be a place where experienced veterinarians are dedicated to listening to pet owners and providing thorough care for their beloved animals. The testimonials from some clients highlight the hospital's ability to diagnose and manage complex conditions, offer compassionate support during challenging times, and provide care for pets with unique needs, such as senior animals. However, it is also important to acknowledge all feedback received to provide a balanced and objective introduction to potential local users.

One particularly compelling review recounts a years-long journey to diagnose a dog with Cushing's disease, a condition that was finally identified by Dr. Bache at Forestville Animal Hospital after multiple other veterinarians had dismissed the owner's concerns. This experience underscores the importance of a veterinarian who listens attentively to the owner's observations and pursues appropriate diagnostic testing. The subsequent successful treatment and the extension of the dog's quality of life for many years speak to the expertise and dedication of the veterinary team at Forestville Animal Hospital. The owner's gratitude for the "many extra good days" with their dog highlights the profound impact of accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.

Our Environment: Focused on Diagnosis and Long-Term Care

While specific details about the physical environment of Forestville Animal Hospital are limited in the provided reviews, the emphasis on thorough diagnosis and long-term management of conditions like Cushing's disease suggests a facility equipped to handle various medical needs. The ability to perform necessary testing, such as that required for diagnosing Cushing's, implies the presence of in-house laboratory capabilities or efficient access to external diagnostic services. The focus on providing "so much extra time" to a pet owner suggests a commitment to patient care that goes beyond rushed appointments, allowing for detailed discussions and a deeper understanding of the pet's condition and the owner's concerns.

However, it is crucial to also consider the negative feedback regarding staff interaction in the waiting room. This review paints a concerning picture of a staff member's handling of a rescue dog, emphasizing the importance of gentle and respectful interactions, especially with animals who may have a history of abuse or anxiety. While this appears to be an isolated incident mentioned in the provided reviews, it is a factor that potential clients may consider when evaluating their options for pet care.

Comprehensive Veterinary Services: From Diagnosis to End-of-Life Support

Based on the experiences shared by pet owners, Forestville Animal Hospital likely offers a range of veterinary services, including:

  • Diagnostic Services: The successful diagnosis of Cushing's disease after years of misdiagnosis elsewhere indicates a commitment to thorough investigation and the use of appropriate diagnostic tools.
  • Treatment and Management of Chronic Conditions: The long-term management of Cushing's disease for many years highlights the hospital's ability to provide ongoing care for chronic illnesses.
  • Senior Pet Care: The dedication to providing "so much extra time" to an older dog and the successful management of Cushing's in a senior animal suggest a focus on the unique needs of aging pets.
  • Care for Rescue Animals: While one review raises concerns about staff interaction with a rescue dog, the fact that the owner brought the dog to the clinic initially suggests that the hospital does provide care for rescued animals. It underscores the need for all staff interactions to be handled with sensitivity and understanding, especially with animals who may have a history of trauma.
  • General Wellness and Preventative Care: Although not explicitly detailed, it is standard for a Pet Hospital to offer routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, and parasite prevention.
  • End-of-Life Support: The heartfelt gratitude for "giving me so much extra time with my Buddy" implies compassionate care and support during the final stages of a pet's life.

The dedication of Dr. Bache to listening to the pet owner's concerns and pursuing a diagnosis for Cushing's disease, where other veterinarians had not, showcases a commitment to thoroughness and a willingness to consider the owner's insights. This patient-centered approach can be crucial in effectively addressing complex medical conditions in pets.

Features of Forestville Animal Hospital: Experience and Areas for Consideration

Key features of Forestville Animal Hospital, based on the available feedback, include:

  • Experienced Veterinarians: The successful diagnosis of a complex condition like Cushing's disease after multiple misdiagnoses suggests experienced and knowledgeable veterinarians.
  • Willingness to Listen to Owners: Dr. Bache's attentiveness to the pet owner's concerns was crucial in reaching the correct diagnosis.
  • Commitment to Long-Term Care: The years of successful management of Cushing's disease demonstrate a commitment to the ongoing health and well-being of their patients.
  • Potential for Compassionate End-of-Life Care: The gratitude expressed for extended quality time with a pet suggests a supportive approach during end-of-life.

However, the negative review regarding staff interaction in the waiting room raises important considerations for potential clients:

  • Inconsistency in Staff Interactions: The reported incident suggests a potential lack of consistent sensitivity and appropriate handling techniques by all staff members, particularly with vulnerable animals like abused rescues.
  • Impact on Client Trust: Negative experiences with staff can significantly erode client trust, regardless of the veterinarian's expertise.

It is important for potential clients to weigh the positive feedback regarding veterinary expertise and compassionate care against the negative feedback concerning staff interaction when making their decision.

The lady with the grey white curly hair needs to be gone. I have an abused rescue and she came to the waiting room and told me she was taking him back for his shot. I asked if could go and she said no and yanked his leash so hard his collar came up over his ear. Then she made a production in the waiting room about me wanting to be with him. I got up and took his leash from her and took him to the back. I don鈥檛 care how nice the vet is, the other staff or anyone else. I will not walk in those doors again.

My kitty, Dusty needed a physical. He's 18, the Dr. Said he looks very good. Excellent service from everyone. From the time I got in the door for a scheduled appointment to paying my bill was only an hour.

Dr. Bache is such a good doctor, he鈥檚 very kind, explains everything thoroughly, listens to you, goes above and beyond, he鈥檚 overall very helpful. He鈥檚 not one of those doctors who just wants your money, he always recommends what is truly best for your pet and he wouldn鈥檛 have certain things done, if he didn鈥檛 truly believe it would help. I believe he鈥檚 the only doctor at this animal hospital, but he鈥檚 very efficient and gives all patients enough time and attention. Ps: he handled my dog very well, my dog was not too fond of him (he was being aggressive ) and he was acting up, but Dr. Bache took care of him so well. The nurses are very kind and helpful. The receptionists are very patient and nice, there is one older lady at the desk who always seems a bit grumpy, but she doesn鈥檛 necessarily bother me lol. I highly recommend this vet!! 馃挏
