Staff and Dr. Jill are always very kind, even with dogs like my youngest here who take a little extra patience. They took the time to make a little rain boot out of an IV bag to keep his bandages dry. Very haute couture 💅✨🐾 We’ve been with them for a couple years now. They’re a very honest and fair clinic; I’ve never felt any doctor recommended something that wasn’t in the best interest of my dogs. If you’re ever on a budget for a visit, be realistic but just be upfront about it and they’ll work with you as best as possible.

Welcome to Forest Hills Veterinary Hospital

Forest Hills Veterinary Hospital, located at 4 N 26th St, Wilmington, NC 28405, USA, operates as a comprehensive "Pet Hospital" dedicated to providing high-quality veterinary care for pets in the local community. With contact details including phone (910) 362-9955 and mobile phone +1 910-362-9955, the hospital is well-equipped to handle a range of animal health needs, from routine wellness to urgent care and compassionate end-of-life services. The glowing reviews from real customers highlight the staff's kindness, patience, and commitment to their animal patients, with specific mentions of Dr. Jill and Dr. Paul receiving commendation for their empathetic approach.

The environment at Forest Hills Veterinary Hospital, while not extensively detailed in provided information, is designed to be comfortable, kid-friendly, and calm, ensuring that pets can relax in the waiting room and have a positive experience. As a "Pet Hospital," the facility is expected to maintain a clean, organized, and professional atmosphere. This typically includes well-lit examination rooms equipped for thorough check-ups and minor procedures. The emphasis on patience, even with challenging pet temperaments, as noted in a review, suggests a calm and understanding approach from the staff, which contributes significantly to a less stressful environment for animals. Furthermore, the ability to work with clients on budget considerations, as mentioned by a reviewer, indicates a flexible and supportive approach to care, which fosters trust and a more comfortable client experience. The compassionate care provided during difficult times, such as end-of-life care, also speaks volumes about the empathetic and human-centered environment cultivated at the hospital, where families can feel supported during challenging moments.

Forest Hills Veterinary Hospital offers a comprehensive array of services, characteristic of a full-service "Pet Hospital," to address the health and well-being of dogs and cats. Their services include fundamental wellness care and check-ups, which are vital for preventative health and early disease detection. Vaccinations are provided to protect pets from various infectious diseases. They also offer parasite prevention and control, essential for safeguarding pets against common internal and external parasites. Diagnostic services are a core offering, featuring in-house bloodwork and radiology (X-rays) to aid in accurate and timely diagnoses. Dental care is also available, crucial for maintaining oral hygiene and preventing systemic health issues. Surgical services cover a range of procedures. In addition to these, the hospital provides kenneling and boarding services, ensuring pets are cared for in a safe environment when their owners are away.

A significant aspect of their service offering is their capability for emergency and urgent care. They have a veterinarian and personnel on duty six days a week who are trained and equipped to handle urgent situations. While it's always best to call before coming in, they accept emergencies anytime the clinic is open. For urgent, non-life-threatening conditions, their veterinarians make efforts to "squeeze" pets in between scheduled appointments, demonstrating a commitment to timely care. For after-hours emergencies, clients are directed to call their main number and follow voicemail instructions, which likely provides information for external emergency referral services. Their willingness to assist with end-of-life care, including evaluating a pet's health to help owners make difficult decisions and providing options for in-office or at-home euthanasia with sedation, further highlights their comprehensive and compassionate approach to veterinary medicine.

The features that set Forest Hills Veterinary Hospital apart are deeply rooted in their patient-centered philosophy and dedicated staff. The reviews consistently praise the kindness and patience of the staff and doctors, specifically mentioning Dr. Jill and Dr. Paul for their exceptional empathy. This human-animal bond-focused approach is a critical feature, especially when dealing with anxious pets or sensitive situations like end-of-life care. The hospital is described as "very honest and fair," with clients never feeling that recommended treatments are unnecessary, indicating a high level of integrity and trust. Their willingness to "work with" clients on a budget, provided the client is upfront and realistic, is a remarkable feature that underscores their commitment to accessible care rather than solely profit-driven motives. The provision of creative solutions, like making a "rain boot out of an IV bag," demonstrates their resourcefulness and goes "far and above" what one might expect from a typical clinic, as highlighted by a veterinary clinic professional from another state. Their computerized appointment system allows for efficient scheduling and flexibility for urgent cases. The broad range of services, including emergency care during operating hours, bloodwork, dental, boarding, parasite prevention, radiology, surgery, and vaccinations, ensures that most pet health needs can be met under one roof. The hospital's clear hours of operation (Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 6:00 pm, Saturday 8:30 am - 12:00 pm, Sunday closed) provide transparency and predictability for clients.

In terms of promotional information, while explicit discount offers or marketing campaigns are not detailed in the provided snippets, Forest Hills Veterinary Hospital's most powerful promotion comes from its outstanding reputation and client testimonials. The reviews serve as strong endorsements, highlighting their compassionate care, honesty, fairness, and willingness to work with clients. Such word-of-mouth recommendations are invaluable in the veterinary industry. Additionally, the hospital's comprehensive service list itself acts as promotional information, showcasing the breadth of care available to potential clients. Their accessibility through phone and mobile numbers, along with their physical address, makes it easy for local users to find and contact them. The flexible approach to urgent care, aiming to "squeeze in" patients, also serves as a strong promotional point for pet owners seeking timely attention for their sick or injured animals. Although not a direct promotion, their openness to discussing and facilitating end-of-life care options, including at-home euthanasia, showcases a compassionate and understanding aspect of their service that would be highly appealing to clients navigating such difficult decisions. The clinic's stated willingness to accommodate budget constraints when clients are upfront, fosters trust and is a unique selling proposition for pet owners who may be concerned about veterinary costs. Forest Hills Veterinary Hospital's commitment to patient well-being and client satisfaction is their most effective form of promotion.

I work in a Veterinary Clinic in Matthews NC. My daughter is a client at Forest Hills. I was in the loop today to see her through a very difficult End Of Life Care for their elderly feline, Cheeto. I don't think I have ever felt so much empathy and humanity shown today as I did today for this family. Thank you , staff and Dr Paul. You went far and above anything I've ever experienced. Your clients are very fortunate.

The best Veterinary hospital. Outstanding care and diagnostics with Dr Paul, Dr Jill and their wonderful staff. They are kind, compassionate and provide the highest level of care. One of our dogs had a complex surgery with full recovery and the other was very very sick and now on the mend. We believe we could have lost him if not for the care provided here. We have had many experiences all around the country and their care is the highest level we have had anywhere. Very grateful for them.

This rating I’ve given is mostly due to one individual who works here. While I’ve had some similar issues as similarly stated by others in the reviews; pushy staff, lack of bedside manner’ and spoken to as an ignorant child. Sherrie is the biggest reason for a low rating. I’ve only dealt with her a handful of times, but most have been unpleasant. She has terrible customer service skills and the compassion of a rock. Always willing to argue with you about certain requests as happened today when asked if the doctor could come out to my vehicle for euthanasia as I wanted my dog to remain as comfortable as possible. I have spoken with a few staff members and have shared that she makes the job lifeless and is hard to be around. It’s time for her to find another job where peoples’ emotions aren’t a concern. As someone who worked as a tech for almost 10 years, I can say from an informed stance that she does not handle her job well.

We have been bringing our 2 boys here for 5+ years now, one senior dog (14) and another high maintenance younger dog (6). Seems they recently acquired a new vet to their staff and she is excellent, Dr Brewbaker. I had my first appointment with her a few weeks ago as one of our dogs has been suffering with back pain recently. She was extremely patient and gentle with him, providing little treats and encouragement knowing he was in pain. You could really tell that she cares and even takes the time to explain treatment options to me in practical terms, doesn't talk down like some other doctors do. The rest of the staff would do well to learn from her techniques and empathy as we've had issues there in the past. I will be requesting her each time we bring our pups to Forest Hills Vet, she is the now the peak standard at this practice and they're lucky to have her. Forest Hills please keep her around and thank you Dr Brewbaker for treating our pets like your own!
