Welcome to Ford Veterinary Associates PC

Ford Veterinary Associates PC operates as a Pet Hospital with two convenient locations to serve the Western New York community. Their primary addresses are 725 Cayuga St, Lewiston, NY 14092, USA, and 527 Hyde Park Blvd, Niagara Falls, NY 14301, USA. You can contact them at (716) 754-8333 (Lewiston) or (716) 285-5734 (Niagara Falls), and their mobile number is +1 716-754-8333. It's important for clients to note that sick animals are generally directed to their Hyde Park location in Niagara Falls, suggesting this facility is more comprehensively equipped for urgent or complex cases.

The clinic generally operates from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. On Saturdays, it's advised to call ahead, as hours may vary, especially during winter months. Both locations are closed on Sundays. All visits are by appointment only, so it's crucial to schedule ahead. For emergencies during normal business hours, clients are encouraged to call prior to arrival to ensure a doctor is available. For after-hours emergencies, Ford Veterinary Associates PC directs clients to the Greater Buffalo Emergency Service, reachable at (716) 839-4043, ensuring pets have access to emergency care even when the clinic is closed.

Environment and Facilities

As a Pet Hospital, Ford Veterinary Associates PC maintains a professional and structured environment. While specific details about the aesthetics of waiting areas or individual exam rooms for both locations aren't extensively publicized, the focus is on providing functional spaces for veterinary care. The distinction that sick animals are generally seen at the Hyde Park (Niagara Falls) location implies this facility is likely better equipped for diagnostics and intensive treatments. Veterinary hospitals, by their nature, are designed to facilitate medical examinations, minor surgical procedures, and diagnostic testing. An organized appointment system is in place to manage patient flow efficiently, aiming to provide dedicated time for each pet's care.

Comprehensive Veterinary Services

Ford Veterinary Associates PC offers a wide range of veterinary services, addressing the various health needs of companion animals. Their core services are designed to support pet wellness from preventative care to diagnostics and treatment for illnesses and injuries. Key service areas typically include:

  • Wellness and Preventative Care: This is foundational to their practice, focusing on maintaining the long-term health of pets. It includes routine physical examinations, crucial for early detection of potential health issues.
  • Vaccinations: Customized vaccination protocols are developed based on a pet's age, lifestyle, and exposure risks, protecting them from common and serious diseases.
  • Parasite Prevention: They provide recommendations and products for protection against internal and external parasites, including fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal worms, which are vital for a pet's health and public health.
  • Diagnostic Services: This includes in-house laboratory capabilities for immediate blood work results, allowing for rapid diagnosis and treatment planning. They also utilize external laboratories for more specialized and comprehensive testing. Imaging services such as X-rays and Ultrasound are available for detailed internal examinations.
  • Medical Treatments: Addressing a broad spectrum of medical conditions, including internal medicine, dermatology, and management of chronic diseases.
  • Surgical Procedures: Ford Veterinary Associates PC performs a full range of surgical solutions. This includes routine soft tissue surgeries like spaying and neutering, as well as more complex procedures such as orthopedic fixations like pinning and plating of fractures, exploratory surgery, and cruciate ligament repair. All surgical patients are monitored by a fully trained and licensed Veterinary Technician using modern monitoring equipment, ensuring safety during anesthesia.
  • Dental Care: Routine dental cleanings and oral health assessments are provided to prevent and treat periodontal disease, which can significantly impact a pet's overall health.
  • Pain Management: Strategies to alleviate discomfort and pain in pets, particularly for chronic conditions or during recovery from surgery or injury.
  • Alternative Medicine: Ford Veterinary Associates PC also offers alternative medicine options. Dr. Charlotte Tutu, a veterinarian at the practice, has been certified with the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association for animal chiropractic services since 2001 and completed a course in veterinary acupuncture in 2005. These alternative methods are used in many instances for pain control, aiming to get pets back on the path to health.
  • End-of-Life Care: Compassionate support and services are available for pets nearing the end of their lives, providing guidance and options for pet owners during difficult times.
Distinguishing Features

Several features contribute to the profile of Ford Veterinary Associates PC. The presence of two distinct locations (Lewiston and Niagara Falls) indicates a structured approach to serving a wider geographic area. The specific designation that sick animals are seen at the Hyde Park location suggests this facility is more comprehensively equipped to handle complex medical and surgical cases, centralizing specialized care. The clinic's reliance on an appointment-only system helps manage patient flow and ensures appropriate time is allocated to each consultation. Furthermore, their veterinarians' active participation in professional organizations like the Buffalo Academy of Veterinary Medicine, the New York State Veterinary Medical Society, and the American Veterinary Medical Association demonstrates a commitment to professional development and adherence to established veterinary standards. The offering of alternative medicine, including chiropractic and acupuncture, sets them apart by providing a holistic approach to pet health.

Promotional Information and Client Considerations

While specific, current promotional offers from Ford Veterinary Associates PC aren't extensively detailed in public information, many veterinary hospitals in the Pet Hospital category commonly engage in various promotional activities. These can include:

  • New Client Welcome Offers: Often a discounted initial exam or a welcome package to encourage new pet owners to experience their services.
  • Seasonal Wellness Promotions: Campaigns focused on specific preventative care needs, such as discounted dental cleanings or parasite prevention during peak seasons.
  • Wellness Plans: Comprehensive packages for puppies/kittens or senior pets, bundling essential services like exams, vaccinations, and routine diagnostics at a potentially reduced cost over time.

Prospective clients are always advised to contact Ford Veterinary Associates PC directly via phone at (716) 754-8333 to inquire about any current promotions, service packages, or payment options. Their website, www.fordveterinary.com, also provides additional information regarding their services and contact details. It's important to note that requests for fee quotes or specific medical questions are best handled by direct phone calls, as email inquiries may have a longer response time and aren't recommended for urgent health matters.

It's also essential for potential clients to consider the entirety of publicly available feedback. While the clinic's official website may feature positive testimonials, other public reviews, as provided, raise significant concerns about customer service, particularly regarding reception staff. These reviews describe experiences of rudeness, unhelpful interactions, and perceived differential treatment. One recurring comment specifically mentions a receptionist named "Debbie" and suggests that clients were advised to seek care elsewhere. Such feedback, while not necessarily reflecting on the medical competency of the veterinarians themselves, points to potential challenges in client communication and overall patient experience at the front desk. Being aware of these varying perspectives can help individuals make an informed decision when choosing a veterinary care provider for their beloved pets.

In summary, Ford Veterinary Associates PC serves the Lewiston and Niagara Falls areas as a comprehensive Pet Hospital, offering a wide array of medical, surgical, and alternative care services. Their organized approach, specialized care at the Niagara Falls location, and commitment to professional standards are key aspects. However, prospective clients should also factor in mixed customer service reviews when considering this practice for their pet's healthcare needs. We encourage you to reach out to them directly to discuss your pet's needs and current offerings.
