All the staff at Foley Blvd Animal Hospital have been so wonderful to work with. They genuinely care about all the animals they see. They take the time to listen and get to you the owners and pets, and care so deeply. They remember from one apt to the next and make sure all items are covered. My pup on her way to the vet for her shots and sleeping them off afterward! Sweet girl.

Some customers have shared positive experiences with the staff at Foley Boulevard Animal Hospital, describing them as wonderful and genuinely caring about the animals they treat. These reviewers appreciate the time the staff takes to listen to owners and get to know both the pets and their humans, noting that they remember details from one appointment to the next and ensure all concerns are addressed.

However, other customer experiences present significant concerns. One pet owner detailed a situation where their dog's splenic mass was not detected during an examination at Foley Boulevard Animal Hospital a week prior to its discovery at an emergency vet. This owner expressed feeling that their concerns were dismissed and that a critical condition was overlooked. They also reported receiving an automated email reminder for a blood pressure test for their dog after the clinic had been informed of the dog's death.

Another long-term customer shared multiple negative experiences, including a seemingly incorrect recommendation for tooth extraction, incorrect antibiotic dosage information, and, most gravely, the undiagnosed cancers in two of their dogs despite presenting symptoms. This reviewer felt that earlier diagnosis, potentially through basic physical exams including palpation of the spleen, could have provided more time with their pets. They also reported a lack of communication within the clinic regarding the passing of one of their dogs.

The reviews for Foley Boulevard Animal Hospital present a mixed picture. While some customers have experienced a caring and thorough approach from the staff, others have raised serious concerns regarding diagnostic accuracy, communication, and follow-up. Potential clients may want to consider these varying experiences when making decisions about their pet's veterinary care.

Updating after the company's response: I have texts to my husband during our time at the emergency vet. The emergency vet doctor took her back, gave her a physical exam, came back in, told me he felt mass(es) on her spleen, THEN asked if I wanted an ultrasound. So I knew about her splenic mass at 11:35 a.m. on 1/15/25 when we got there just before 11 a.m. they did the ultrasound starting at around 11:55 and she was in the back getting that done for over hour. Please see photos showing when we arrived and texts showing when we were told he felt a splenic mass. There's no way she got an ultrasound and we got results in less than 1 hour. I also did not appreciate repeatedly being treated like I was overreacting when I was unfortunately correct that something was VERY wrong with her. The fact that she was in Foley Blvd Animal Hospital a week before and we left without answers is telling enough for me. I have been going here with 2 dogs for many years. I will never bring a dog here again. One doctor there had said my dog needed her frontmost bottom teeth removed, but they were never removed during her 2 dental procedures (not done by him), which means he was probably wrong about them having to come out. He also typed up incorrect dosage information for my dog's antibiotics last year. I have lost 2 dogs in the past year due to cancer and both times, the cancer went undiagnosed even with symptoms present. The first dog had skin issues even with being on Apoquel (she was fine on it for years before that point). They gave me a special shampoo for her chewing on her skin, and then removed a growth on the skin of her nose. Then she died a few months later from assumed himangiosarcoma tumor causing sudden pericardial effusion. After she died at an emergency vet, I called and told the receptionist to let her usual vet doctor know. She was never told, I had to tell her when I brought the other dog in later on. The other dog started having issues that she'd never had before, (gastrointestinal and urinary tract infections) and I was convinced it was something more. (She had also had 1 enlarged neck lymph node for months which I was told to just "watch"). They tested the lymph node and I was told it was 99.9% not cancer, and if it was, that it wouldn't be treated this early anyway (an oncology doctor at the U of M said that part). That was last October/November. I came in early January saying her second lymph node on her neck now seems bigger, too. At first the vet tech made it sound like the doc wasn't concerned (like she felt I was overracting) until she felt the lymph nodes herself. Then it was "get her an xray right away!!" Then went home with no new findings. A week later, my dog wouldn't eat anything except for really good treats. Called this vet, they said all they would do is check her lymph node. I didn't like that, as it insinuated if it came back normal, I'd be SOL with the appetite problem. So I went to an emergency vet instead. The first thing the emergency vet doctor did was feel her abdomen... no tests yet, just feeling her... and he felt a mass on her spleen. I don't understand how such a thing could be missed by this vet. Her lymph nodes showed lymphoma that day... when a week earlier it was assumed I was overreacting by this vet. Both the emergency vet and this vet said I had mere weeks with her left. She died on January 30th using a home euthanization service, which sent the info to this vet. They emailed me yesterday morning saying she needed to come in for blood pressure test... they got the info that she had died but didn't stop automated email reminders in their system. I feel like both of my dogs' cancers could've been caught earlier and I could've had more time with each of them. Even just doing a basic physical exam where their spleens were felt (both of them probably had tumors there), they could've most likely been caught sooner and had a better prognosis.

The staff at Foley have been fantastic. Quick to respond to questions, friendly techs, and my dog actually enjoys going in for checkups. Dr Barr is a greyhound wizard, his knowledge of these dogs is on another level and it's nice knowing I have an expert recommending care for my hound.

I took both of my cats to this vet based on the positive reviews, but I need to urge people not to go here. Unfortunately I have had nothing but horrible experiences at this vet. My partner and I have faced bullying from several receptionists and their office manager. Every staff member, doctors, techs, and receptionists alike are all rude and sometimes downright mean. I had to fight for over a year to get care for my cat, who was in constant pain. His eyes bled everyday, yet this clinic preyed on his need for immediate care and told us he needed several things (that cost several thousands of dollars in the long run) that were not even related to the problem. His herpes (which caused his eye issues and constant pain) were cleared immediately once we changed vets. They also ordered X-rays, an echocardiogram, and HOURS worth of unnecessary tests on our other cat at his post-adoption check-up. All he had was an ear infection. And they took hundreds of my dollars and hours of my time telling me that he was horribly sick when HE WASN'T. The cruelty that my cat had to experience that day is heartbreaking. They prey on people who genuinely care about their pets and will take every cent possible from you. They will deliberately not care for your animal's needs so that you keep coming back. Both of my cats experienced horrible vet related anxiety, which they DID NOT HAVE before our experiences at Foley Boulevard. I will never forgive myself for allowing sadistic doctors to mistreat my animals, my partner, and I. They don't do ANY part of the exam in the room with you (not even things like weighing/just looking things over, like looking in their ears and stuff)... Wonder why my cats were so afraid to go (let me note that they are very social and have always loved going to other vets)? Unfortunately, not showing you any of what they do, ordering hundreds of dollars of tests on a healthy animal, intentionally not treating actual health concerns, never being upfront about the cost, keeping my cats there for several hours (causing them to stop eating for days after because it stressed them out so badly), verbally abusing my partner and I, and several more things are enough for me to say with confidence that no one at this clinic wishes to care for your animals. Please do not bring your animals here if you wish for them to receive the kindness and care that they deserve. We have found wonderful success at River Rapids Pet and Animal Eye Specialty Center, where my cats are genuinely loved and respected. I can't believe that such a horrible vet clinic as Foley Boulevard is still in business. Your staff should truly be ashamed of the harm that they cause.

I wanted to leave a review to say thank you to the staff at Foley Blvd Animal Hospital. We recently had to make the super hard decision to put our dog down and our vet we had gone to for so many years for all of our other pets let us down, in my opinion, due to how they handled things. Aka. Phone manners, only allowing one person to come, pricing, overall lack of sympathy. We searched for another place to take our pup and found this animal hospital. The service was amazing. The people who answered the phones were so sweet, caring, and made it so easy for us to choose them. They handled the payment first so we didn’t have to wait around after as we grieved. They welcomed us as we came in, were so gentle with our dog, offered her treats and allowed us ample time to say our goodbyes without rushing us out the door. The Dr. gently explained the procedure to us and helped to reassure and comfort us with an empathy that I really appreciated as she administered the injections. Our dog was at peace as we pet her and let her lick our hands. The entire experience was as good as it could be for that kind of situation. Thank you so much for helping us and being there for us. I truly appreciate what you all do and the culture you have at your facility.
