I brought my freshly adopted 7 yo Golden Retriever here for a checkup and shots. People were friendly at first. They told me my dog had heartworms. While I understand it is serious, they retested him twice to “confirm” it. After, they gave me a pitch for a fast kill and a slow kill option. The fast kill was going to end up being about $2000 and the slow kill roughly $40 a month for a pill I can get off Amazon. They knew I was a 19 year old girl who simply can’t afford $2000 for medicine. After telling them I can’t afford the fast kill option, they had three separate women (1 that hadn’t been in the room before this) come in and attempt to talk me into starting a go fund me and “talking” up his story because anyone would donate to a helpless dog. His story however was not sad and I am obviously not going to lie to get money out of people. This seemed extremely fishy to me and I believe it is unethical to try to bribe me into intentionally lying to get money. I won’t be coming back here after that, they seemed to care at first but then it turned into a money scheme.

Welcome to Farmington Veterinary Clinic, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner, located at 30 W Main St, Farmington, AR 72730, USA. Our aim is to offer a range of services to support the health and well-being of your animal companions.
As a part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare network, Farmington Veterinary Clinic benefits from a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine, potentially providing access to a wider network of resources and expertise. While the provided reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the clinic's practices, it's important for local users to consider all feedback when making decisions about their pet's care. We strive to offer a welcoming environment and comprehensive services to meet the diverse needs of our patients.
One review mentions that the initial interactions with our staff were friendly. Creating a welcoming atmosphere is important to us, as we understand that bringing a pet to the vet can be an anxious experience for both the animal and the owner. We aim for our team to be approachable and helpful from the moment you arrive.
The services offered at Farmington Veterinary Clinic, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner, as indicated by the reviews, include routine check-ups and vaccinations. One client brought their newly adopted Golden Retriever for these services. Additionally, the clinic provides diagnostic testing, as demonstrated by the heartworm testing performed on the same dog. The availability of testing is crucial for identifying potential health issues early and developing appropriate treatment plans.
Furthermore, our clinic offers treatment options for diagnosed conditions, such as heartworm disease. The review mentions both a "fast kill" and a "slow kill" treatment option for heartworms, indicating that we provide different approaches to address this serious condition. It is important for pet owners to discuss these options thoroughly with their veterinarian to determine the best course of action for their pet's individual needs and their financial circumstances.
One of the features highlighted in a positive review is the clinic's care for Boston Terriers. The owner of a Boston Terrier described our staff as "very friendly" and noted that the doctors have been "very good" with their pet named Raine. This suggests that our veterinary team has experience and expertise in caring for specific breeds and their unique health considerations. Positive experiences like this indicate a level of personalized care that many pet owners value.
However, it is crucial to address the concerns raised in the negative review. This client described an experience where, following a heartworm diagnosis confirmed by two tests, they were presented with treatment options, including a significantly more expensive "fast kill" method and a less costly "slow kill" option. The client expressed discomfort with the subsequent interaction where multiple staff members allegedly encouraged them to start a GoFundMe campaign by exaggerating their dog's situation to solicit donations, which they felt was unethical. This account raises serious concerns about potential financial pressures and ethical practices that warrant consideration.
While this negative review presents a concerning perspective, it is also important to acknowledge the positive feedback regarding the friendly staff and good care provided to a Boston Terrier. These contrasting experiences highlight the complexity of individual interactions and the importance of considering all available information. As a pet hospital, we are committed to providing quality care, and we take all feedback seriously.
Currently, the provided information does not include any specific promotional offers. For information on any current promotions or new client specials, it is recommended to contact Farmington Veterinary Clinic, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner, directly. We have received positive feedback regarding our friendly staff and the good care provided to certain breeds, such as Boston Terriers. Oct 14, 2024 · sunni bonoThey are amazing with my Boston. The staff is very friendly. The Doctors have been very good with Raine.
May 23, 2025 · Joy DurhamI brought in a litter of puppies to get their vaccinations. When making the appointment I was told the total would only be $90. That sounded cheap two me, so before hanging up i confirmed that again that it would be $90 total. Yesterday I called again to ask, was told the same thing. Only $90 for the litter of puppies to get their shots. Today when checking out, I was charged almost $400. I immediately told them I had called and both times were told it would be $90. They acted like I was lying and wouldn’t let me leave without paying the $396. Do not come here, they either lie about their prices or they do extra that you did not ask for then charge you for it
Apr 01, 2025 · Hallee ColdingThis vet clinic let my mom’s dog die. Do not recommend them. Please don’t take your animals here. They do a quick exam that is not thorough. But charge you over $200 for “comprehensive exams.” He was misdiagnosed and by the time we got him the appropriate care it was too late.
Feb 27, 2025 · Brittany SprinkleI took my dog to this clinic because my dog had an ear infection. When I got there they saw that it was an infection for 30 seconds. Then took a sample of the ear wax and put simplera optic solution in his ear. I was charged $64.36 for the examination(agreeing with me on the ear infection) and another 51.47 to look at the ear wax. I was also charged 9.50 for the vet tech to come in and confirm that it was the right dog and that I was there for an ear infection as-well as a waste fee. After everything it was $160 for 6 min of interaction with the tech and vet. I hope for a refund of the 64.36 for the 30 second “look”. Really frustrated with this place. Wouldn’t recommend unless you want to make there corporate happy.
