I brought a - until very recently - feral cat for her first vet visit post-spaying. This was my first time to Family Veterinary Hospital. Everything about the experience was positive from the receptionist, to the vet tech, to the vet, Dr. Hendrickson. The cat I brought in was *very* reactive to being approached by the staff - she hissed, spit, and growled. But the vet tech and Dr. Hendrickson were great with her, managing to conduct an exam and get imaging done. Their ability to handle her was impressive. And Dr. Hendrickson was very informative in considering what could be causing the cat's elevated breathing and laying out options for investigating those causes. I would highly recommend this vet practice to others.

I decided it was finally time to rate my experience with Family Veterinary Hospital. If I could give 10 stars I would. I've been taking my dogs to Family Vet for about 16 years, and the staff have ALWAYS kept my pets' best interests in mind. They're honest, they take time to explain everything clearly, they offer multiple suggestions for treatment, and really, truly care about their clients. I've moved over an hour away from them, yet continue (and will continue) to drive back to get my dogs the care they deserve. I love them.

This review is long overdue, we’ve taken our 3 dogs (2 English Labs and 1 XL American Bully) to Dr. Chau at Family Vet ever since she opened her practice in 2008. Staff there has always been top notch and Dr. Chau explains all options for our dogs. Over the years one dog had seizure so bad they had to remove his inner ears and Dr. Chau had the perfect balance for his medication to keep his seizures under control but not too much meds. Another dog had his ACL replaced through a surgeon that Dr. Chau set up to have done at her location. The one lab lived until he turned 15 and towards the end of his life Dr. Chau had him on different treatments ie underwater treadmill, laser, and Acupuncture for his hips. Until his death at 15 years old he got around great for a 90lbs lab. All three dogs were very different and Dr. Chau always took the approach specific to the dog and not, “one size fits all” approach. I wish our family doctor had bedside manners like Dr. Chau. Although we live close, if we had to travel to see Dr. Chau for our XL American Bully we would without even thinking about it. I attached pics of our Lab that lived until 15 years old, in the 1 picture he was 13 years old running through the snow, the other picture he was with Dr. Chau when he was almost 15. The other pictures are of our tri color XL American Bully and he’s almost 4 years old. One pic he’s with his brother from the same litter who also goes to Family Vet and another is of him waiting for Dr. Chau … he looks forward to her treats :)
