Dr. Dan and the crew had to remove my dogs outer left toe that had a large growth on it. Autumn came through with flying colors and is doing zoomies with no problem! This vet practice is straightforward and very professional. Also, very good people. Your pets couldn't be in better hands! 💯❤️

Comprehensive Services

As a dedicated Pet Hospital, Family Pet Clinic offers a wide array of veterinary services designed to cover all aspects of your pet's health and well-being, from preventative care to complex medical and surgical interventions. While a complete list of services isn't explicitly detailed, the category name "Pet Hospital" implies a comprehensive range of offerings, typical of a full-service veterinary facility. These would generally include:

  • Wellness and Preventive Care: Routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control (fleas, ticks, heartworm), and nutritional counseling are foundational to keeping pets healthy and preventing diseases before they become serious.
  • Diagnostic Services: This would encompass a full suite of diagnostic tools such as in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams), digital radiography (X-rays), and potentially ultrasound capabilities to accurately diagnose various conditions.
  • Surgical Procedures: As highlighted by a customer review regarding a toe removal, the clinic clearly performs both routine and more complex surgeries. This would typically include spaying and neutering, soft tissue surgeries, and potentially orthopedic procedures.
  • Dental Care: Professional dental cleanings, extractions, and other oral health services are crucial for a pet's overall health.
  • Emergency and Urgent Care: While not explicitly stated as an emergency clinic, a "Pet Hospital" often provides services for urgent medical situations during business hours, stabilizing pets and providing immediate care.
  • Pain Management: Tailored plans for chronic pain, post-surgical pain, and acute pain are essential for a pet's comfort and recovery.
  • Behavioral Counseling: Advice and strategies for common pet behavioral issues.
  • Pharmacy Services: Dispensing necessary medications, supplements, and prescription diets.

TL;DR, ask for prices first. For the most part the care has been great, and for a variety of animals and conditions - dogs, rabbits, cats and more. But there have been misses on communication and the pricing model is getting out of control. Today was $66 for a 5 minute recheck where they took my dog to the back and brought her out minutes later. I never set foot in an exam room. Which all would have been fine, ideal even, if that wasnt $66! It took them far longer to create an invoice than to look at my dog. Previously we were shocked by a $2300 bill for dental work for our cat and dog combined when we picked them up. No one bothered to call and confirm that we were prepared to spend that much on dental that day. When we asked prior to that appointment and were told ~$400 minimum each. 3x warrants a call. Meds are often many times the cost of getting them elsewhere. When they didn't administer enough anesthesia and our rabbit came to sooner than expected and tore out all his stitches while unsupervised, we were initially billed for a the second surgery and only credited after protesting about the repeat issues. Honestly, we're frustrated because we really do like the vets and techs, and appreciate the care our animals receive, but on multiple occasions have felt like we have been misled if not taken advantage of with these prices. Friends and neighbors have expressed similar experiences and sentiments.

I’m a helicopter mom to a 13 ish’ old rescue. We have been to a lot of different vets over the years and Family Pet Clinic of Newberg is the BEST I have ever been to. The doc’s are all tenured vet’s who work together as a team to come up with plans and solutions. We met with Jennifer for the original and she has a senior dog herself and listened and provided a care path headed forward to keep him healthy. Jennifer #2 and the tech Erin led his dental. They listened and communicated in such a way I felt comfortable knowing he was in the best hands. He even bounced back quicker than with previous dentals. I highly recommend this clinic from gaining knowledge, planning, communication and care. 5 stars and I’d give more if it went higher!
