Dr. Hyppa is an amazing vet and we are privileged to have him caring for our retired hunter horse. He is very thorough and spends the time necessary to explain as well as show you how to do aftercare. With open bleeding huge hock sores for over one year, Dr. Hyppa was the only vet who could help us get them healed(and many tried). He is truly a horse whisperer. I am writing this review to dispel the negative reviews here. Dr. Hyppa is very busy as the head lameness vet at many very large horse shows and travels the country most of the time. We are very grateful that he includes us in his "rounds" in CT!

Welcome to Equine Veterinary Clinic
Welcome to the introduction of Equine Veterinary Clinic, a specialized Pet Hospital located at 895 Glastonbury Turnpike, Portland, CT 06480, USA, dedicated to the health and well-being of horses. The provided information includes contact details, the address, and contrasting reviews from two clients, offering different perspectives on the care provided, particularly mentioning Dr. Hyppa.
As a Pet Hospital focused on equine care, Equine Veterinary Clinic likely offers a range of specialized services tailored to the unique needs of horses. These services typically include lameness evaluations and treatments, which, according to one review, is an area of expertise for Dr. Hyppa, who is described as the head lameness vet at many large horse shows. Preventative care, such as vaccinations and deworming programs specifically for horses, would also likely be offered. Dental care, crucial for equine health and performance, including teeth floating and other dental procedures, is usually part of equine veterinary services. For injuries and illnesses, the clinic would provide medical treatments, and depending on the facilities, potentially surgical interventions. Given the nature of equine veterinary medicine, on-farm services for routine care, lameness exams, and emergency situations might also be available, recognizing the challenges of transporting horses.
Details about the specific environment of Equine Veterinary Clinic are not extensively provided. However, a specialized equine Pet Hospital typically has facilities designed with the safety and comfort of horses in mind. This would include spacious stalls, examination areas suitable for large animals, and potentially specialized equipment for equine diagnostics and treatments, such as large animal imaging. Given the mention of Dr. Hyppa's involvement in large horse shows, the clinic might also have facilities geared towards lameness evaluations and rehabilitation. While the reviews do not detail the physical environment, the focus would be on creating a safe and functional space for equine veterinary care.
The customer reviews present contrasting views, offering insights into potential features of Equine Veterinary Clinic, particularly concerning Dr. Hyppa. One reviewer speaks very highly of Dr. Hyppa, stating he is an "amazing vet" and they are "privileged to have him caring for our retired hunter horse." This review emphasizes Dr. Hyppa's thoroughness, his dedication to explaining aftercare, and his effectiveness in treating a chronic condition ("open bleeding huge hock sores for over one year") where other vets had failed. The reviewer also refers to him as a "horse whisperer," highlighting a potential intuitive and effective approach with horses. This positive review aims to counter negative feedback, suggesting that Dr. Hyppa's expertise, especially in lameness, is a significant feature, although his busy schedule due to travel for horse shows is also noted.
In stark contrast, the second review is extremely negative, warning others to "Beware of vets like this one. Very unprofessional and money seekers." This reviewer advises against entrusting any animal's life to this vet, claiming they allow strangers to sign for euthanasia and that the vet will believe any lie for their own benefit, suggesting a lack of ethical standards and professional conduct. The reviewer also criticizes the service, implying a lack of knowledge. This feedback raises serious concerns about the professionalism and ethical practices of the clinic.
Given these directly opposing views, it is challenging to objectively define the features of Equine Veterinary Clinic. One perspective highlights Dr. Hyppa's exceptional skill and dedication, particularly in treating complex equine conditions, while the other alleges unprofessionalism and unethical behavior. Potential features, therefore, could be Dr. Hyppa's specialized expertise in equine lameness and his thorough approach, as perceived by one client. However, the other review suggests potential issues with professionalism, ethical practices, and the quality of service.
The provided information does not include any details about promotional offers. Specialized equine veterinary clinics might offer promotions for specific services or during certain times of the year. To inquire about any current promotions at Equine Veterinary Clinic, you would need to contact them directly at (860) 342-0039 or +1 860-342-0039.
In conclusion, Equine Veterinary Clinic in Portland, CT, is a Pet Hospital specializing in equine veterinary care. Customer reviews present significantly different experiences, with one praising Dr. Hyppa's expertise and effectiveness, particularly in lameness, while the other raises serious concerns about professionalism and ethical practices. Potential features include specialized equine veterinary services and Dr. Hyppa's noted expertise, but also alleged issues with unprofessionalism. Apr 04, 2024 · Claudia FranklinIF I could leave a negatives star I would! Beware of vets like this one. Very unprofessional and money seekers. As the previous comment by another Client Don’t put any animals life in this vets hands!! You will regret it! They allow strangers to sign to put your pets down yes as crazy as that sounds you don’t have to sign documents someone else can do it. Also you can tell this vet anything literally lie and for there own benefit they will believe it. So if you want to drug your animals or kill them they’ll do it for money! Such a disgrace and cruel place. If you want the worst vet, here you have it. Service was even worse, they seem like they have an education of a 2 grader. Beware folks Beware!
Dec 05, 2017 · EvelynThis vet is very nice. They helped my horse dipstick out of a hard time with struggling to stand after being attacked by a bear. (This was on accident) There are very out standing people who come to the stable and help out some times.
