Welcome to Equine Therapies

Located at 110 Miller St, Franklin, MA 02038, USA, **Equine Therapies** stands out as a highly specialized veterinary practice dedicated exclusively to the health, soundness, and performance of horses. Unlike general pet hospitals that cater to a wide range of animals, Equine Therapies focuses specifically on equine well-being, making it a crucial resource for horse owners, trainers, and enthusiasts in Franklin, Massachusetts, and the wider New England region.

The environment at Equine Therapies is inherently geared towards horses. While specific details on the facility's physical layout are not extensively publicized, one can infer that the practice operates with the unique needs of equine patients in mind. This likely includes spacious areas for lameness evaluations, secure and horse-friendly examination rooms, and facilities for administering specialized treatments. Given the nature of equine veterinary work, much of their service is often ambulatory, meaning veterinarians travel to barns and stables to provide care directly where the horses reside. This mobile aspect of their service inherently provides a comfortable and familiar environment for the horses, reducing stress associated with transport and new surroundings.

The core of Equine Therapies' offerings revolves around advanced diagnostics and a comprehensive range of treatment modalities, particularly focusing on **sports medicine** and **lameness issues**. Dr. Liz Maloney, the highly acclaimed veterinarian leading the practice, is renowned for her expertise as a "great diagnostician for lameness, back, shoeing, and ulcer issues, among others." This implies a deep understanding of the complex musculoskeletal system of horses and the various factors that can affect their performance and comfort.

Services provided by Equine Therapies include, but are not limited to, a unique blend of traditional and alternative therapies. Clients consistently highlight the effectiveness of treatments such as **chiropractic adjustments**, **acupuncture**, **mesotherapy**, and **shock wave therapy**. These modalities are crucial for addressing chronic pain, improving mobility, and enhancing overall athletic performance in horses. Furthermore, traditional interventions like **joint injections** are also utilized when medically indicated, showcasing a balanced and integrated approach to veterinary care. The practice's holistic philosophy is designed to identify the root causes of issues and implement long-term solutions, rather than just providing quick fixes. This forensic approach to injury and performance problems involves thorough listening skills and methodologies to discover and prevent recurring issues.

One of the most significant features of Equine Therapies is the exceptional skill and dedication of its lead veterinarian, **Dr. Liz Maloney**. Customer testimonials consistently laud her expertise and the profound impact she has had on the health and careers of their horses. As one client enthusiastically states, "Liz Maloney has been my vet for years and she is a great diagnostician..." The ability to keep high-level event and dressage horses "going throughout their careers" speaks volumes about her diagnostic prowess and effective treatment strategies. A particularly compelling testament is that a client's "semi retired event horse is 30 and still being ridden thanks to Liz!" This demonstrates Dr. Maloney's commitment to extending the comfortable and active lives of her equine patients, even those reaching advanced ages.

Beyond the technical skills, the reviews also implicitly speak to the compassionate and caring nature of Dr. Maloney. The phrase "Best vet ever!" suggests a strong positive emotional connection and trust that clients place in her. Her practice is described as "concierge-style care focused on Sports Medicine," indicating a personalized and highly attentive approach to each patient. Dr. Maloney views her patients as athletes, and her tenacity in finding solutions to prevent recurring injuries is a defining characteristic. She thoughtfully combines traditional and alternative medicine, aiming for a holistic treatment plan tailored to each horse's individual needs. Her work with high-level sport horses throughout New England and even in Palm Beach, Florida, underlines her reputation and the demand for her specialized services.

While specific promotional information is not overtly detailed in the provided reviews, the nature of a specialized practice like Equine Therapies often involves unique avenues for client engagement. This may include direct consultations for owners seeking specialized opinions, educational workshops on equine health and lameness for the equestrian community, or perhaps performance evaluation packages for competitive horses. Given the high value of equine assets and the specialized nature of the care, clients are likely drawn by word-of-mouth referrals and Dr. Maloney's established reputation. The practice also appears to leverage technology for efficient client management, as indicated by information suggesting the use of online prescription management platforms to ensure convenient access to safe and competitively priced medications for clients, even when services are delivered on-site at various locations. This efficiency allows Dr. Maloney to manage a large client base while maintaining high standards of care.
