My vet gave me a list of referrals to do an ultrasound for our cat, and this place was the highest rated. I don't know why. I came in for the pre-consult with partner. They kept us waiting in a room for almost three hours. A nurse kept coming in and out, in 30 minute intervals, to repeatedly confirm which ultrasounds we wanted and getting confirmation with the doctor over and over and over. Eventually when we left, the receptionist called on the phone and I had to go right back in, while she told me to wait for the nurse to be right out to clarify more stuff. At that point I was tired and exhausted and needed to get back to work so after five minutes of the nurse not showing, I pushed to see the nurse now--- who then told me they didn't feel comfortable doing the ultrasound at all and that they'd email me a list of specialists to get an ultrasound from instead. I get home and I have an email from them titled "Referrals" and a PDF document named referral attached. The PDF was just a receipt for my visit, with no referrals. But at least their reception desk cat was very cute.

A great vet that has taken care of my 15 year old dog. Dr. Farahany is amazing! My dog had a vaginal prolapse and instead of resorting to surgical measures, they have been monitoring her with medicine and other conservative options. Highly recommend!

On the Saturday after Christmas (2024), our son's 7 year old Yorkie woke up appearing to have some gastrointestinal discomfort, like he had eaten something that disagreed with him. Our vet was not open so, when he start showing signs of real distress later in the day, we looked for an appointment nearby. We ended up at Encino Pet Hospital and Emergency at 3:30 and they took us in quickly. We agreed on how to proceed and Dr. Farahany ran tests, including blood work and X-Rays. He showed us the images and explained just how sick the dog was and what our options were - none good. He agreed to make the dog comfortable and stay late while our son and his wife came to the hospital. Our son was in shock and distraught but eventually agreed that his beloved pet was better off being put to sleep. Dr. Farahany, and his team gave up their Saturday evenings, staying 3 hours late to support our family in our time of need. They were patient, supportive and gracious. A few days later, he sent a personal condolence card. The office forwarded the X-Rays and blood panels, which showed the confidence in the diagnosis and limited our second-guessing the final decision. As much as we like and trust the vet that we have been going to for the last dozen years or so, we are happy to find someone else, just as wonderful and a lot closer to home, to care for our remaining and future dogs.

I HOSPITALIZED MY DOG HERE, AND THEY RETURNED HIM TO ME PARALYZED. After my chihuahua, Sam's, hospitalization, he was unable to stand or sit and had zero control over three of his limps. To this day, I do not know what they did to Sam. They did not notify me about his condition and instead hid his injury by wrapping him up in a blanket. When I picked him up, I simply thought he was loopy and drugged out. This has been such a traumatic experience for me and my family. We were told Sam was improving and doing well. I paid around $6,000 for his care. All of his updates and pictures are of him lying down on his side. Again, I could not imagine my walking dog would come back to me paralyzed. I brought in Sam because he had a fever and was lethargic. Nothing about his ability to stand or walk was in question. I do not know when Sam went paralyzed, but I'm guessing it was from the very first day since in his update photo of that night he was also lying on his side. they failed to notify me and instead let me believe my dog was safe and doing well. This vet and his staff are horrible people who are in the business of making money and taking advantage of families and their pets. I believe the whole staff was well aware of what was happening. The store/billing manager manipulated me into letting Sam stay another day in their care free of charge. They also provided an ultrasound free of charge to further manipulate me and take advantage of Sam's medical condition. I would like to add that my dog had a 5% chance of ever walking again. I went to another vet in order to figure this out. Dr. Farahany wanted to continue charging me instead of letting me know the truth and not letting my dog suffer any longer. Sam ended up getting extremely sick the following day after his hospitalization. His gums turned white, and he started drooling. I had to euthanize Sam no more than 24 hours after his hospitalization. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. DO NOT TRUST THIS VET AND HIS STAFF.
