Extensive Range of Services

Emmerson Animal Hospital offers a full spectrum of veterinary services, addressing both routine preventative care and complex medical needs. Their aim is to be a single location where pet owners can access comprehensive care for their companions, fostering a strong, ongoing relationship between the clinic, the pet, and the owner. Their services include, but are not limited to:

  • Preventative Health Care: This is a cornerstone of their practice, encompassing routine wellness exams, vaccinations (including common ones like rabies, distemper, leptospirosis, bordetella, and canine influenza virus for dogs, and feline leukemia virus for cats), and parasite prevention and control (fleas, ticks, and deworming). They emphasize the importance of regular check-ups for early detection of potential health issues.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools to accurately identify and understand a pet's condition. This includes digital X-rays and potentially ultrasound and in-house laboratory testing for quick results on blood work (hematology, biochemistry), urinalysis, and testing for specific diseases like heartworm and feline leukemia.
  • Surgical Procedures: Emmerson Animal Hospital performs a wide range of surgeries. Customer reviews specifically highlight successful surgeries for torn ligaments in dogs and spay/neuter procedures for cats. This indicates their capability in both orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. They also offer pre-anesthetic blood work to ensure a pet's health before surgery and employ pain management protocols.
  • Dental Care: Recognizing the importance of oral health for overall well-being, they provide pet dental care services to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
  • Microchipping: As mentioned in a client review, they offer microchipping services, which are vital for pet identification and reunification if a pet ever gets lost.
  • Emergency and Critical Care: While they are a full-service animal hospital, they also accommodate emergency visits, demonstrating their readiness to handle urgent situations.
  • Nutritional Counseling: They can provide recommendations on pet food and offer nutritional counseling to help owners make informed choices for their pet's diet, addressing issues like obesity.
  • Pain Management: For pets suffering from chronic conditions or recovering from surgery, pain management is a key aspect of their care.
  • Boarding Services: Emmerson Animal Hospital also offers boarding for pets, providing a safe and supervised environment for animals when their owners are away.

The example of reassuring a worried owner whose cat had a heart murmur before surgery exemplifies their dedication to patient and client well-being.

I have had wonderful experiences at this vet. I have taken my cat and her three surviving kittens to this place the staff has always been so kind. I got the mother cat microchipped there for $75.I was also able to get my cat fully vaccinated at this clinic at very reasonably priced rate and got two of her kittens their first round of boosters as well. Also wanted to mention the time they gave me a nice carrier they allowed me to keep. I got the mother cat Spay Surgery the pre-surgical blood work was $115 and The Spay It’s self was around $900. I am very pleased with their work because my cat had a heart murmur and was in heat at the time of surgery so I was really worried about her prior to the surgery but they reassured me and took excellent care of her and she has since continued to heal up perfectly. I’m really grateful for this clinic and I intend to keep coming back to this clinic for my cat and one of her kittens for as long as possible. I also just got my cat’s Male 17 Week Old Kitten Neuter Surgery At This Clinic. The Neuter was extremely reasonably priced and he has been recovering very well so far.

Great knowledgeable doctors and assistants. Front desk staff can be unwelcoming but depends on whose out there. But great care and attention to details from the doctors.

I had to euthanize my 20 year old cat last Tuesday. I am deeply grateful to every member of Emerson’s veterinary team for the warmth and kindness shared with me and my dear girl. They took wonderful and expert care of her in her final years and the vets were always thoughtful and kind in our discussions. Even when I moved another 3 miles away last year I continued her care with the hospital. I have just received a sympathy card signed by the team. It included my Janna’s paw prints. It was wholly unexpected and I am in tears. The hospital and team are gems 🙏🏾
