During a visit to Portland to see our daughter, our 10 year old Golden-doodle was attacked by another dog while on a walk. He needed surgery to repair puncture wounds in his neck and a tear in his back. EVCOT could not have been nicer, more professional or compassionate. They took exceptional care of Leo and made sure he was comfortable during his stay. During his two follow up appointments, they treated him like their family pet! Thank you to everyone who works there. You reassured us that Leo would be fine, and he is!!!

I don't normally do reviews but I felt the need for this one. My little angel Luna passed away at home days ago. We were frantic to find a place to get her cremated as this was 6:30 in the morning but this place was open. We rushed down to take her and they were so nice and compassionate when we were crying our eyes. They took her and promise to take of her. They said it would be about a week to get her back. I got the call 5 days later that we can come get her. We went down to go pick her up and they have us a beautiful wooden box and her paw print with her claws. They told us they were so sorry for our lost. What I didn't expect is that same night I got a card in the mail from them. Expressing their deepest condolences and also tell me Luna was very loved and cared for. I started crying because of how nice and compassionate this place is to do this for me. I will also be grateful and when I have another situation like this again, I know where and who to turn to. Thank you everyone here. I thought I was also share a picture of my little angel.

It would only let me give five stars, but they deserve so much more. The techs, nurses, and doctors were all incredible, compassionate, professional, and deeply skilled. Kailey, Victoria, Dr. Warren, Dr. Reza, and others whose names I unfortunately didn’t catch made an incredibly difficult experience bearable. They quite literally saved my cat’s life. Without them, Dexter wouldn’t be here. I will be forever grateful for the care, dedication, and kindness they showed every step of the way. Thank you doesn’t suffice, but thank you.

This is the BEST EV you can go! Wish these Dr's had private clinics to go to on the regular because they KNOW what they're doing! They found issues with my cat that my regular vet didn't, and I go to every checkup, and am very aware of how my three cats regularly act. The front office staff - I can't praise them enough either! They have huge mental lists of knowledge regarding what to do, what's normal, and have references for somethings like checking poison plants. They're emphatic but wont BS you, and will do their best when my cats are left overnight to call and give updates as I'm a nervous cat mama. I drive over an hour away for them when needed, even though there are closer EVs because I Trust THESE people, and my cats aren't just pets, they're my kids. So to anyone reading this, you're better off here than anywhere, its not some dark half staffed place. It's 24/7 run like an actual human hospital and busy with a fairly large staff even at 3am. There can be a long wait for an update from a Dr. In the middle of the night, but they have a full staff of nurses on duty actively checking your pets conditions and can update. I have been going here for years, you never get anyone who isn't super helpful. If you've been to pet hospitals that worry you (iykyk), then you can thank your lucky stars you found this place! It's not all new furniture, but it's absolutely packed with top professional people who very much CARE. At around $150 to be brought in at 3am it's money well spent as it's my cats health and that affords me my piece of mind.

If I could give zero stars, I would. It's taken me two months since my dog's passing to write this review, but I feel compelled to share my experience in hopes that this establishment can improve or spare others from the same pain. I brought my dog in during an emergency because she was struggling to breathe. They placed her in an oxygen tank, and I was left waiting for eight hours while she remained in a crate in the back. I repeatedly checked on her status, asking for updates, and each time I was told that I was next in line. Yet, for eight long hours, she received no attention. I regret not insisting I be allowed to sit with her as it ended up being her last day. At one point, the receptionist bluntly informed me that my dog was not a priority because they had another patient who couldn’t go to the bathroom. I couldn’t believe it—how could a breathing issue not be considered urgent? And how rude to treat someone when I had been there hours with a legitimate emergency. Eventually, a doctor came out and abruptly told me, “Your dog is dying.” I was taken aback by the lack of compassion in his delivery. I asked for clarification, as I thought he was joking because of his delivery and he repeated the statement, demanding that I make a decision about her care. My beloved girl ultimately passed away from heart failure. She was initially diagnosed with kennel cough and pneumonia and I was told she would be likely going home soon after a treatment for those things. I feel an immense sense of guilt for not advocating more fiercely for her care during that critical time. When they finally attended to her, she was already in a dire state, gasping for air and visibly suffering and dying of heart failure. I try not to think about how long she was suffering for in that crate and all those hours she was left alone before they actually realize she was there dying and was completely being ignored as they were too busy. I understand being busy but for 8 hours of time to be waiting and not be seen in emergency situation and then when you’re finally dying of heart failure with absolutely no symptoms of that prior is not OK. How long did my baby suffer for those hours leading up to that as she was left all day in the crate. They took an agonizingly long time to administer the euthanasia; it took multiple injections to finally put her to sleep. She was only 3.5 lbs and I watched her suffer as they struggled to put her down. For 15 minutes, I watched her struggle to breathe, and I kept screaming for them to end her suffering and put her out of her misery. It was the most horrifying experience imaginable. I’m leaving out a ton of details here because this is incredibly traumatic to recount, but I want to emphasize how many things went wrong that day—so many could have been avoided. The entire process of losing a pet is already heart-wrenching, and reflecting back on this day only amplifies the pain. I regret bringing my dog here, and I wish she had not spent her final moments alone. My heart aches knowing that when I first arrived, they promised to return her to me after checking her vitals, so I didn’t even say goodbye. This experience has left me with a heartbreaking memory of her last moments, and it is unacceptable that she had to endure such suffering.
