Ellison Drive Animal Hospital Introduce

Ellison Drive Animal Hospital, located at 1424 S Ellison Dr Ste 100, San Antonio, TX 78245, USA, is a Pet Hospital providing veterinary care services in the local area. They can be contacted at (210) 670-8400 or +1 210-670-8400. It is important for local users seeking a Pet Hospital to consider all available information when making decisions about their pet's care. The following introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on recent customer reviews found online.

Information regarding the physical environment of Ellison Drive Animal Hospital is limited within the provided reviews. Customers do not comment on the cleanliness, comfort, or overall atmosphere of the clinic itself. Therefore, an objective description of the environment based solely on the available data cannot be provided. Local users may wish to inquire directly with the hospital about their facilities to gain a better understanding of the environment in which their pets would receive care.

The provided customer reviews offer insights, albeit negative, into some aspects of the services provided by Ellison Drive Animal Hospital. One review details an experience involving a dental procedure for a small dog. The initial verbal estimate of $1500 reportedly increased to almost $3000, and the estimate itself allegedly took two weeks to receive after an initial 15-minute promise. This suggests potential issues with communication regarding treatment plans and associated costs. The reviewer also mentioned an "incompetent tech" incident where the owner had to remind the staff about already paid labs and antibiotics, raising concerns about the efficiency and accuracy of their administrative and technical processes.

Another review describes a particularly distressing experience involving the euthanasia of a small chihuahua following an attack. The owner reported being charged close to $600 for the procedure and, upon contacting other veterinary clinics, received quotes as low as $150 for the same service for a similarly sized animal. This feedback raises significant concerns about the pricing structure at Ellison Drive Animal Hospital, with the reviewer explicitly stating that they believe the clinic "will take advantage of you in times of need and will gladly up the bill if you’re willing to pay." This is a serious accusation that potential clients should consider carefully.

Based on the limited but strongly negative feedback, several features of Ellison Drive Animal Hospital emerge as points of concern for potential clients. The significant discrepancy between an initial cost estimate and the final charge, coupled with a lengthy delay in receiving the estimate, suggests potential issues with transparency and communication regarding financial aspects of treatment. The reported incident with the technician indicates possible shortcomings in staff competency or attentiveness to patient records and billing. The stark contrast in euthanasia costs compared to other local clinics, as reported by one reviewer, raises serious questions about the overall pricing structure and whether it is perceived as fair and reasonable by some customers.

It is crucial to note that the provided information consists of only two customer reviews, both of which are negative. While these reviews offer direct experiences of individuals who have interacted with Ellison Drive Animal Hospital, they may not represent the views of all clients. However, the issues raised – significant cost discrepancies, perceived overpricing, and concerns about staff competency – are serious and warrant careful consideration by local pet owners. As there are no positive reviews or any indication of promotional offers in the provided data, an objective assessment based solely on this information highlights potential risks associated with choosing this Pet Hospital.

Given the nature of the feedback, there is no positive promotional information to report. Instead, the recurring themes of unexpectedly high costs, poor communication regarding estimates, and concerns about being taken advantage of during vulnerable times serve as cautionary points for local users. Potential clients may want to seek additional reviews from various sources and directly inquire about pricing policies, estimate procedures, and staff qualifications before entrusting the care of their pets to Ellison Drive Animal Hospital. It would also be prudent to compare the costs of common procedures with other Pet Hospitals in the San Antonio area to ensure they are receiving competitive and transparent pricing.

In conclusion, the available information regarding Ellison Drive Animal Hospital from recent customer reviews raises significant concerns about pricing transparency, cost of services (particularly euthanasia and dental procedures), communication regarding estimates, and staff competency. While these are just two accounts, the seriousness of the issues reported suggests that local users should exercise caution and conduct thorough research before choosing Ellison Drive Animal Hospital for their pet's care. It is recommended to seek out additional feedback from a wider range of sources and directly discuss all aspects of treatment, including detailed cost estimates, with the hospital staff to ensure a clear understanding and avoid potential negative experiences.

Place is very over priced and adds costs that don’t make sense. I took my small chihuahua in to get put down due to being attacked that morning. My dog weigh about 10 lbs maybe 13 lbs at most. They charged me close to $600 to euthanize him. I have called other places now getting quotes for that same size and euthanize for $150. They will take advantage of you in times of need and will gladly up the bill if you’re willing to pay. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!

I used to love this vet but I am transferring all of my animals to another vet. The vet and her assistant are either too busy for the patients or they simply don't care. My rabbit died in my arms today while I waited for the results of an x-ray that was taken Thursday of last week. I still haven't heard back about the X-ray and I paid a lot to have it done. I am disappointed in this location and simply can't understand why they keep taking new patients if they don't have the time for them.

BEWARE, DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE. Took my dog to get a minor surgery done. Upon arrival Tech lead Jody weighs my dog at 69lbs and provides us with the price breakdown. Having us pay the cost up front. The doctor (Dr. Lori Curd) calls me 8hrs later- she proceeds to tell me that Jody weighed my dog wrong and he was now 75lbs which caused them to use more of everything meaning a higher cost. Also, that Jody misquoted us and removed required supplies from the quote which she now needed to add back, raising the cost. We explained to her that if our dog had needed additional unforeseen treatment, we would have gladly covered the costs. But these costs, that were due to staff negligence and a tech lead (which he emphasized) at that; should not be cost that we incur. They should honor the quoted costs. Dr. Curd then proceeds to unprofessionally accuse us of not being able to afford having our dog, threatening to not return our dog and ends it with saying she doesn’t want customers like us. The irony is, when I go to pick up my dog, the receipt says my dog weighed 69lbs at the conclusion of surgery. Even after having paid and receiving my receipt they are still trying to call me for more money! I would never let them touch my animals ever again much less try price gouging me for their incompetent staff. Not to take away from the very sweet front staff that does their best provide excellent customer service.
