Welcome to East Carolina Veterinary Service
Located at 2401 Charles Blvd, Greenville, NC 27858, USA, **East Carolina Veterinary Service** operates as a comprehensive 'Pet Hospital' dedicated to providing healthcare for companion animals. This practice has garnered a mixed range of feedback from its clientele, highlighting both its strengths in patient care and areas that some customers perceive as challenging, particularly regarding pricing. The hospital's mission statement emphasizes providing "high-quality, progressive, and personalized care for all of our patients" and maintaining "an honest, compassionate, and respectful environment by working as a cohesive team with you and your pet."
The environment at East Carolina Veterinary Service is frequently described by positive reviewers as friendly and welcoming. Customers often feel a sense of care and attentiveness from the moment they interact with the staff. The facility itself is designed to accommodate various veterinary needs, typical of a full-service animal hospital, including reception areas, examination rooms, and areas for diagnostics and treatments. The positive feedback suggests that the staff strive to create a comfortable atmosphere for both pets and their owners, aiming to reduce stress during visits. The practice’s website also mentions "Happy Visits," a no-cost service designed to allow pets to meet and be pampered, making future veterinary visits fear-free, indicating a proactive approach to positive patient experiences.
East Carolina Veterinary Service offers a wide array of services that align with a modern 'Pet Hospital'. These services are designed to address the full spectrum of a pet's health needs throughout their life. Key offerings include **preventative care**, which is fundamental to their approach, encompassing routine wellness examinations, tailored vaccination programs, and effective parasite prevention and control. They utilize **diagnostic services** such as in-house lab tests, ultrasound, and radiology (X-rays) to accurately diagnose various conditions. The hospital is equipped for **surgical procedures**, including spay/neuter operations and other soft tissue surgeries, with anesthetic monitoring for patient safety. **Dental care** is also a significant service, including professional cleanings, to maintain oral hygiene and overall pet health. Furthermore, they provide **end-of-life care** options, including euthanasia, handled with compassion and support for grieving pet owners. The practice also emphasizes "personalized attention" where pets see the same veterinarians at each visit to build a strong, personal connection.
A notable feature frequently praised by satisfied customers is the staff's genuine care and the veterinarians' willingness to listen. Specifically, Dr. Godfrey is mentioned for being attentive to worries and acknowledging concerns about a pet's care and needs. This compassionate and communicative approach is highly valued by pet owners, especially those new to the area who are seeking a veterinary team they can trust. The sentiment of feeling that a pet receives "very thorough and great care" is a recurring theme among positive experiences, reflecting the dedication of the professional team.
However, it is important to provide a balanced view, as some customer feedback indicates concerns regarding pricing. One review explicitly states that the service is "ridiculously OVERPRICED," citing a yearly annual wellness visit of over $500 for a dog with no issues, and a quote of $1200 for a simple teeth cleaning, which the customer found to be "more than THREE times the cost of other local vets." This suggests that while the quality of care and staff friendliness are highly appreciated by many, the cost of services can be a significant factor for some clients. The practice's payment policy states that after a pet is evaluated, treatment options and an estimate of anticipated charges will be discussed, with a deposit required prior to diagnostics or treatments, and the remaining balance due upon discharge. They accept cash and major credit cards, and offer payment plans through CareCredit and Scratchpay, which can be helpful for managing costs.
For emergencies, East Carolina Veterinary Service advises calling immediately during normal business hours for an appointment. For after-hours emergencies, they refer clients to specific emergency hospitals like Points East Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Greenville or Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital, indicating a responsible approach to ensuring continuous care for pets, even outside of regular clinic hours. This referral system is standard for general practices, ensuring that pets with critical or highly specialized needs receive the appropriate level of care from dedicated emergency and specialty facilities.
Promotional information for East Carolina Veterinary Service would underscore its commitment to personalized, high-quality, and compassionate care. They would highlight their experienced team, including specific veterinarians like Dr. Godfrey, who are noted for their attentiveness. The convenience of their location on Charles Blvd in Greenville, NC, and the broad range of services, from preventative care to diagnostics and surgery, would be emphasized. Potential clients are encouraged to reach out via phone at (252) 355-4945 or +1 252-355-4945 to schedule appointments or learn more about their offerings. While the practice's communication regarding pricing is important for transparency, the overall focus in promotional materials would be on the positive aspects of their patient and client experience, especially the "family-owned" aspect and the promise of a "stress-free experience for all of our patients and their families."
In conclusion, East Carolina Veterinary Service presents itself as a dedicated 'Pet Hospital' in Greenville, NC, known for its friendly and caring staff, thorough examinations, and personalized approach to pet health. While they excel in providing comprehensive services and fostering strong client relationships, prospective clients should be prepared to discuss cost estimates thoroughly, as some past feedback suggests that pricing may be higher compared to other local options. Nonetheless, the consistent positive remarks about the quality of care and the compassionate nature of the team make it a noteworthy option for pet owners in the area.

Mar 28, 2025 · Samantha HagerVery friendly staff but ridiculously OVERPRICED! Yearly annual visit was over $500 (no issues with the dog) just a check up to which the vets were informed that the dog was great. They also quoted me 1200$ for a simple teeth cleaning. Absolute highway robbery. More than THREE times the cost of other local vets. I appreciate the service but that is unacceptable. I will Not be going back.
Apr 12, 2025 · Hope CarterAlways helpful and pleasant. They take the time to answer all our questions. The vets and the techs are so attentive to my pets, love on them, and gentle. They avoid unnecessary discomfort for the pets. Great office.
Apr 05, 2025 · Kelley HensleyI've been going to East Carolina Veterinary Service for three years and have always had nothing but positive experiences. The vets are really good about sharing information if you want it. They always print lab info for me to take home and thoroughly explain what it all means and how it compares to previous numbers before sending me home. I always recommend my friends go here, too!
