I found out about this place after I made reservations for my pets to stay at the hotel. Today, my cat ate the leaves from my apple tree and I went to my usual ER on Patrick Rd. I'll leave a review for them on their page. Anyhow, I was happy that I drove 20 mins to Durango Animal Hospital. Best 20 min trip I've made in a while. When I got to the hospital the front desk employee went straight to the back and brought up the concern re: possible cyanide poisoning to the doctors. Once I filled in the paperwork the doctor came out to the lobby and checked my cat then and there. He provided some information and told me what to look for. Dr said she looks good, its not currently an emergency but please don't hesitate to come back. I was not charged for the doctor checking my cats immediate needs. This is now my pet boarding place AND my emergency vet.

Mar 02, 2025 · Kristen MI brought my moms pet in to be euthanized due to a spinal injury that they could not afford to be treated. The amazing doctors and nurses did not feel comfortable putting her down due to her age and her having a chance to have a good life. They found her a home writhing hours. I can express how thankful I am . They are truly a blessing and I hope they continue to do amazing things going forward.
Oct 23, 2024 · Marquise RWhat an incredible experience (for such a stressful moment for us!). Great listening when we called, was able to get us on a wait list so we didn't have to wait unnecessarily at the hospital. The vet was great at understanding my gibberish on what might be wrong, didn't pressure us to do more than necessary to take care of my pup, and made sure we had all the necessary documentation on potential diagnoses before we left. It was also all at a great price, especially for last minute service.
Mar 02, 2025 · Andrea WilhelmBest pet boarding in town. They give your dog lots of attention and make sure they are healthy and happy the entire time. They are happy to provide updates at any time and call if there is even the smallest concern. My dogs leave happy, not stressed out at all. I wouldn't take them anywhere else.
Jan 25, 2025 · Holly ArvinMy family has taken our pets here since I was a child (30+ years). Sadly, I can not recommend them at all, and I have found a new veterinarians office to see. My dog tried to eat a Bee (as dogs do), and seeing as she needed vaccines, I thought I would have them pull the stinger out and give her the vaccines she needed.. which hasn't ever been an issue before (she likes to eat bees, I do my best to stop her). This office has given her vaccines the same day as a bee stinger incident in the past.. she's four years old. Their wasn't a doctor on staff until 9 a.m. which I sat and waited for over an hour, starting around 8 a.m., not knowing their was no veterinarian on premise. When I finally saw the doctor, they wanted to surgically cut into my dogs lip to remove the bee stinger (which I removed no issue by massaging it out with my gloved hands after leaving their office) my dog was happy after being given a treat and some playtime! (pictured) Upon declining to let them sedate and give my dog this surgical procedure (they refused to remove it any other way) I asked if she could have her vaccines, to which I was denied due to the bee stinger they were refusing to remove without this surgery. Then they charged me for an office visit (they are walk-in only now) which would've had no fee had they given her the vaccines that they refused to give after trying to strong arm me into letting them give my dog surgery. I'd give this a zero if I could, which is so sad to say. They used to be a great veterinarian office.
Aug 18, 2024 · Cinthia WidhalmI took my dog in for an ear infection. I checked her in at 1pm and was called to the lobby at 2pm. My dog was clearly stressed and was whining and shaking. We sat there and waited for 2 hours with her trying to get out of my arms and whining and shaking before I went to the front desk and asked them if they forgot about us. They then put us in a room for another hour. I went again to the front desk and asked if they forgot again. They finally had a vet tech come in our room who had no sense of urgency and did not seem like she was busy whatsoever. It was another hour to swab and clean her ears as well as run the slide to diagnose the ear infection. I requested to have them do her care in the room with me and they were reluctant and gave me the worst attitude. The vet even said "If we have enough staff then they can do the care in the room." Umm how many people does it take to do her care in the room verses in the back where she will be treated like a number?" We were sent home with an ear cream for 7 days. Today is 7 days and her ear infection is not clear. I followed the directions to the T and did not miss a dose. I just called to get the issue remedied and the receptionist was insistent that I need to bring my dog back in for a follow up. I told her I would not go back after my previous experience and requested she ask the vet to provide a treatment provided her diagnosis the last time we were in because her ears look exactly the same. She said she will leave a message for the vet. I should also mention she did not prescribe any pain meds for my poor dog. I would never recommend this place and I will not go back there again. My time, nor my dog, were valued, and the care was subpar.
