Duke Animal Hospital

Duke is simply the best vet in Chicago. No matter which Dr. you see (we've seen nearly everyone there!), you and your pet are absolutely guaranteed to get such thorough, compassionate, and timely care from their doctors, vet techs, and staff. Going to the vet is almost never fun for anyone involved, but we so deeply trust the team at Duke and are so grateful to them for how much they've helped us and our sweet Pepper!

Duke is absolutely incredible, and I would recommend them to all my friends. The staff is incredibly welcoming and always treat my pup like a princess. The doctors are also very knowledgeable and informative, and have always been transparent when it comes to prices. They have been very accomodating to my excitement reactive pup, and will often politely ask other clients to give her space to come through, or inform me when the lobby is clear of pups. In addition to all this, they are always incredibly accomodating with scheduling appointments, and make a genuine effort to fit me in when necessary. Only 10/10 experiences for me at Duke!

Truly the best. Started going to Duke a few years ago after trying out several other vets in the area and it has always been a great experience. They kept my older dog healthy and comfortable through aging and felt like friends. Incredibly responsive to emails and calls anytime there was an emergency, knowledgeable staff, accommodating with scheduling, and empathetic caretakers. My dog had a few dental procedures performed and they were always awesome with check-ins and with post-care.

I love Duke Animal Hospital. My cat HATES Duke Animal Hospital. But that's not the fault of the practice. Despite being a "spicy kitty" at the vet, my cat gets excellent care. We've been clients for years and usually see Dr Alore, who is patient and kind with my elderly but feisty cat. I'm usually given an estimated cost over the phone before the appointment, then once there we go over exam and lab options and costs again. There are never any nasty surprises with what I owe after the fact. From sending questions through the portal to getting prescriptions refilled via text to in-person visits, the whole staff is professional and quick to respond. I love this vet practice. Too bad the cat doesn't agree.

Can't thank the staff and vet enough here! Our cat needed emergency surgery and everyone was kind and helpful with helping our cat get the care he needed. Everything was explained thoroughly and we received consistent updates. The service was above and beyond. I will gladly recommend this place to friends and family.
