I was recommended to Dr. Lisa Rini by a previous boss that went to her office for 20+yrs. Dr. Rini and her staff are extremely thorough and empathetic every time I have to bring my dog for anything. Highly recommended and well worth the 45 minutes it takes me to get there from where I live.

Duck Island Veterinary Practice, under the guidance of Dr. Lisa Rini, has garnered recommendations from long-standing clients, suggesting a history of dedicated service. This overview will touch upon the environment you might encounter, the range of services typically offered by a Pet Hospital, notable features highlighted in the reviews, and any potential considerations based on the feedback available online.

Environment: A Practice Built on Experience

While specific details about the physical environment of Duck Island Veterinary Practice are not extensively described in the provided information, the recommendation from a client who has been going to Dr. Lisa Rini for over 20 years suggests a stable and established practice. Such longevity often implies a comfortable and familiar setting for both pets and their owners. It's reasonable to expect a professional and clean environment conducive to providing veterinary care. Given the positive feedback regarding the thoroughness and empathy of Dr. Rini and her staff, the atmosphere is likely one where patient care and owner comfort are prioritized.

Services Offered: Comprehensive Veterinary Care

As a Pet Hospital, Duck Island Veterinary Practice likely offers a range of essential services to address the health needs of your pets. These typically include:

  • General Wellness Exams: Routine check-ups to monitor your pet's overall health.
  • Vaccinations: To protect your pet from common and potentially serious diseases.
  • Preventative Care: Including parasite control (flea, tick, heartworm prevention).
  • Dental Care: Services such as teeth cleaning to maintain your pet's oral health.
  • Diagnostic Services: Including laboratory tests and imaging (though specifics aren't provided).
  • Medical Treatments: For illnesses and injuries.
  • Surgical Procedures: Both routine and potentially more complex surgeries.

The review mentioning Dr. Rini and her staff being "extremely thorough" suggests a commitment to comprehensive diagnostics and treatment plans tailored to each animal's needs. The empathy noted indicates a caring approach in delivering these services.

Features: Thoroughness and Empathy

Based on the provided customer review, two key features stand out for Duck Island Veterinary Practice:

  • Thoroughness: The long-term client specifically praises Dr. Rini and her staff for being extremely thorough. This suggests a detailed and meticulous approach to veterinary care, ensuring that all aspects of your pet's health are carefully considered.
  • Empathy: The same review highlights the empathetic nature of Dr. Rini and her staff. This is a crucial aspect of veterinary care, indicating that they not only possess the medical expertise but also understand and respond to the concerns and emotions of pet owners.

The fact that a client is willing to travel 45 minutes to this practice underscores the value they place on the quality of care received, particularly the thoroughness and empathy shown by Dr. Rini and her team.

Potential Considerations Based on a Review

It is important to also consider all feedback available. One review on Facebook raises a concern regarding a hiring decision based on a small animal tattoo on a potential employee's hand. The reviewer expressed disappointment, suggesting that this might reflect a judgmental attitude within the practice. While this review does not directly comment on the quality of veterinary care provided to animals, it does bring up a point about the clinic's values and potential for judgment towards individuals, including hypothetically, clients with tattoos. It is crucial to note that this is a single perspective shared publicly and may not reflect the overall experience of all clients. However, it's an aspect that some local users might consider.

The positive recommendation spanning over two decades speaks to the consistency and quality of service provided. However, a more recent piece of feedback raises a concern about the practice's judgment based on personal appearance. Local users are encouraged to weigh all available information and contact the practice directly to determine if it meets their needs and values for their pet's healthcare.

Saw a post on Facebook how they hired a young girl then found out she had a small tattoo of an animal on her hand and said they can no longer hire her because it's not a good look for their practice. It's a shame because that person they were going to hire but didn't because of a tattoo could have saved and changed lives for the better. If this is true I hope they take a step back and reevaluate their choices. If a person with tattoos comes in as a client will they turn them away? Beware even if they don't refuse treatment they will be judging you.

They discriminate against people with tattoos?! That’s absurd and says a lot about their lack of morals and empathy. I wouldn’t want anyone lacking in morals and empathy working on any of my pets. Seems like they’re in it for money and don’t actually care about living beings. Anyone else notice how all the high reviews on here have no comment? Seems like they’re being posted from in house and not actual clients.
