Edit: Pancake died within 36 hours of these photos being taken. His symptoms were severe, and I left DTLAvets because I felt he needed to be seen more quickly. The hospital I took him to admitted him immediately. These pictures were among the last ever taken of him. I will forever wonder what would have happened if the front office staff at DTLAvets had been more knowledgeable and more qualified to diagnose the signs of acute toxicity syndrome. I do not recommend that you take your pet here for routine care. I do not recommend you take your pet here for emergency care. I do not recommend you take your pet here at all. I will forever think of the front office staff members laughing and talking amongst themselves as my boy was dying, and being completely ignored, and being callous and indifferent when I told them that I could tell that we could not continue to wait any longer. Sometimes you have to trust your instincts. And my instincts are that the front office folks at DTLAvets will kill your pets with neglect and not think twice about it. And actually blame you for not being willing to wait your turn in line, as the doctor attends to routine cases while your pet is showing signs of neurological impairment. -------------------------------------------- I recently had a disappointing experience at DTLAvets. Despite having an urgent care appointment for my dog, Pancake, we waited over thirty minutes while his condition worsened. The staff did not acknowledge the urgency of his situation, and the environment seemed to add to his distress. To make matters worse, another dog in the waiting room was barking at Pancake, increasing his anxiety. When I asked if we could wait elsewhere, the staff refused and did not show any empathy for our situation. They did not make any effort to create a comfortable environment for animals in need of urgent care. On a positive note, Dr. Coward is a very kind and gentle veterinarian. He has a wonderful demeanor, and Pancake always feels safe with him. I only wish the rest of the staff shared his empathy and compassion. In the end, I had to take Pancake to another veterinarian who immediately recognized the seriousness of his condition and admitted him to the ICU. Pancake is now receiving treatment for suspected acute toxin exposure, a condition that DTLAvets failed to appropriately triage. Overall, I am very disappointed with the lack of urgency and care shown by DTLAvets and would not recommend their services for pets in need of immediate attention.

Last visit we were in and out for my husky’s shots in less than 10 minutes. Our pups are always well taken care of here. And there are free treats to help motivate a nervous pup. The doctors are even great at responding to our questions over email. We moved out of the neighborhood a few years ago but still keep coming back because of their attention to detail, special care and loving treatment

I had a medical emergency for my dog and DTLA Vets was able to take me in right away. Although we ended up needing to transfer to a specialty hospital, Dr. Flores and her team were kind, helpful, and provided the urgent care my dog needed to stabilize her for the trip. Dr. Flores called the specialty hospital beforehand to brief them, so by the time we arrived they could take my dog immediately. DTLA Vets even called the specialty hospital the next morning to check on how my dog was doing. Thank you DTLA Vets for your quick and empathetic care!

They have refused to provide services to me. They literally turn me away, I'm not allowed to make an appointment and all they said was over an incident a few years back. What incident? They should at least tell me what they are talking about! I've never been there before and choose to make an appointment since I moved closer to the area. They got me confused with someone else. One of my friends had a cat with cancer and couldn't afford the medication about 7 months ago so I called in with my credit card number. They had NO problem taking my money.

Highly trusted veterinarian, my Chocolate Labradoodle has been very well taken care of since nine weeks old. They are very knowledgeable, understanding and and helpful. Specially to new dog owners! Their recommendations for nutrition and preventative care. I highly recommend this hospital.
