We had to put my girl Honey down. Dr. Beam didn't pressure us into anything but was supportive and talked us through the process. He allowed us to be in the room during the procedure which was important to me as I didn't want to leave her. The staff was understanding and respectful. Thank you Dr. Beam for making such a sad day a little easier to go through.

Always patient and kind, whether it is routine yearly shots / exams. Or when one of my pups had to be put down.

Dr. Beam may be a good vet for horses and dogs, but I don't think he really cares about cats. When I first moved here from Indy, I had no idea where to take my cats. So I took one to Dr. Beam & one to Hope Vet Clinic in Taylorsville. Dr. Beam gives rabies vacs to cats that are supposed to be OK for both dogs & cats, but my cat had a reaction to it every time. She'd froth at the mouth & sleep for days. When I mentioned it, he kind of laughed it off. She also got a nail-bed infection from the clippers used there that had to be treated with antibiotics (when I switched to Hope in Taylorsville). So not very sanitary there. It was also very hard to get an appt there, sometimes I had to leave a message and I was never called back. There are no back-up vets if he isn't in. And the prices aren't much cheaper than any other vet clinic. I think he caters more to horses and people in the country who don't really care about their pets. Like pets aren't "family". I take both my cats to Hope in Taylorsville now and my cat hasn't had a reaction to her rabies vaccine since...because they give one meant for CATS.
