I love her! Amazing surgeon, caring vet, she’s busy but she’s thorough. I appreciate her time and energy with our mastiff, heeler, and shepherd mix. She absolutely knows what she’s talking about and does her best to diagnose immediately and treat cost effectively. I cannot recommend Dr. Bausch enough.

Welcome to Dr. Lisa Bausch

Welcome to the introduction of Dr. Lisa Bausch Veterinary Services, a dedicated pet hospital located at 123 Swope Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80909, USA. As a valued pet owner in the local community, finding reliable and compassionate veterinary care for your beloved animals is paramount. Dr. Lisa Bausch's clinic aims to provide a comprehensive range of services to ensure the health and well-being of your furry, scaled, or feathered companions.

Dr. Lisa Bausch can be reached at (719) 471-4457 or via mobile at +1 719-471-4457. While the provided information does not offer explicit details about the clinic's environment, it's reasonable to expect a professional and clean setting designed to make your pet feel as comfortable as possible during their visit. A well-equipped pet hospital typically includes examination rooms for consultations and check-ups, surgical suites for various procedures, diagnostic imaging areas (like X-ray or ultrasound), and potentially a pharmacy for immediate medication needs. Depending on the scale of the practice, there might also be separate areas for different types of animals or isolation wards for contagious cases. The overall ambiance should reflect a commitment to hygiene and a calming atmosphere for both pets and their owners.

The services offered at Dr. Lisa Bausch Veterinary Services appear to be diverse, catering to a range of pet health needs. One customer review specifically highlights Dr. Bausch's expertise as an "amazing surgeon," suggesting that surgical procedures, both routine and more complex, are a significant part of the services provided. This could include spaying and neutering, tumor removals, orthopedic surgeries, and other interventions requiring surgical skill. The same review also praises her as a "caring vet" and mentions her thoroughness in diagnosing and treating animals, indicating that general veterinary care, including wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and treatment for illnesses, is also offered. The reviewer appreciated her effort to "diagnose immediately and treat cost effectively," suggesting a focus on efficient and affordable care.

Another reviewer corroborates the kindness of the staff and the accuracy of the diagnosis received for their dog. This positive feedback points towards a team that is both knowledgeable and empathetic in their approach to animal care. Proper diagnosis is crucial for effective treatment, and the positive experience shared by this customer underscores the clinic's diagnostic capabilities.

However, it is important to present a balanced view based on all available information. The second review raises concerns regarding the cost of a "very common and simple test," which was perceived as significantly higher compared to an emergency veterinary clinic. This suggests that while the quality of care might be satisfactory, potential clients should inquire about the costs of specific tests and procedures upfront to avoid unexpected expenses. Transparency in pricing is a key aspect of building trust between a veterinary practice and its clients.

Furthermore, the second review details a distressing experience regarding the surrender of the reviewer's dog. The reviewer felt "sneaky" and "lied to" about the process, alleging that Dr. Bausch stated she would either find a loving family for the dog or allow the owner to re-adopt after treatment, but instead, the dog was surrendered to the Humane Society before the owner even returned home. While the reviewer acknowledges that surrendering the dog relinquishes ownership, the perceived lack of transparency and the feeling of being misled are significant points of concern. This account suggests a potential communication gap or a difference in expectations regarding the handling of surrendered animals. It is crucial for any veterinary practice to maintain clear and honest communication with pet owners, especially in sensitive situations like surrenders.

Considering the available information, Dr. Lisa Bausch Veterinary Services appears to offer skilled surgical and general veterinary care, with at least one client praising Dr. Bausch's surgical abilities, diagnostic skills, and cost-conscious approach to treatment. The kindness of the staff is also noted positively. However, potential clients should be aware of the reported higher cost for at least one common test and the serious concerns raised regarding the handling of a surrendered pet and the associated communication.

As a local user considering Dr. Lisa Bausch Veterinary Services for your pet's needs, it would be prudent to weigh the positive feedback regarding medical expertise and caring attitude against the reported issues with pricing transparency and communication regarding surrendered animals. It is always recommended to have open conversations with any veterinary care provider about treatment plans, associated costs, and procedures, especially in sensitive circumstances. Visiting the clinic in person, if possible, could also provide valuable insight into the environment and the overall approach to patient care.

While specific promotional information is not provided in the reviews, many veterinary clinics offer introductory discounts for new clients, wellness packages that bundle essential services at a reduced rate, or seasonal promotions for specific treatments like flea and tick prevention or dental cleanings. It would be beneficial to contact Dr. Lisa Bausch Veterinary Services directly to inquire about any such offers that might be available to new local clients. Building a strong relationship with a trusted veterinarian is crucial for the long-term health and happiness of your pet, and thorough research and open communication are key steps in making an informed decision.

In conclusion, Dr. Lisa Bausch Veterinary Services in Colorado Springs presents itself as a pet hospital with surgical expertise and a caring approach to animal health. While positive experiences highlight thorough diagnostics and cost-effective treatment, potential clients should also consider the reported concerns regarding pricing of certain tests and the handling of pet surrenders. Direct communication with the clinic is encouraged to address any questions or concerns and to ascertain current service offerings and any available promotions for local pet owners.

I would like to have rated her a 5. They were perfectly kind and diagnosed my dog properly. HOWEVER, I was charged a huge amount for a very common and simple test, even the EMERGENCY vet charged me ONLY 1/3 For the SAME test. A bit messed up I'd say. NEXT, I felt like Dr. Bausch was a little sneaky and I felt a bit lied to. I had to surrender my dog. She charged me $150 to do that. She said she would keep my dog in house and adopt her to a loving family OR after treatment was over I could adopt her back (obviously depending on final cost). BEFORE I even got home, the Humane Society was calling me telling me she surrendered my dog to them. I COMPLETELY understand that once I surrender my dog she is no longer mine and I have no say. HOWEVER, I feel Dr. Bausch knew what she was going to do and said nothing to me, all she wanted was AS MUCH money as she could get out of me. To the best of my knowledge (and I asked) Dr. Bausch paid the Humane Society NOTHING....
