Dr Kidwell is honest and succinct. He told me my dog would need $350 worth of dental work including blood work before the procedure, anesthesia, and a deep cleaning (I believe him, her teeth are so bad an anesthesia free clinic wouldnt work on her without antibiotics). He gave me the antibiotics and suggested I shop around to see if there's a lower price, he even told me that if I came back for the blood work he wouldnt charge me for an additional office visit. Honest and fair are the words that come to mind.

Welcome to Dr. Larry Kidwell

Welcome to the practice of Dr. Larry Kidwell, a Pet Hospital located at 5830 Washington Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232, USA. As a local Pet Hospital, Dr. Kidwell's clinic aims to provide honest and reliable veterinary care to the pets of Culver City and the surrounding communities. While the name highlights Dr. Larry Kidwell, the reviews also mention the services of Dr. Gebroe, indicating a team approach to animal health within this facility.

Based on the feedback from pet owners, a key characteristic of this Pet Hospital is its commitment to honesty and fairness. One reviewer specifically praised Dr. Kidwell for being "honest and succinct" regarding their dog's dental needs. Dr. Kidwell provided a clear estimate for the necessary dental work, including blood work, anesthesia, and a deep cleaning, totaling around $350. Demonstrating transparency and a focus on the pet owner's financial considerations, Dr. Kidwell suggested shopping around for potentially lower prices and offered not to charge for a subsequent office visit if the client returned for blood work. This level of openness and consideration is a notable aspect of the service provided.

Another significant aspect highlighted in the reviews is the expertise in more complex medical issues, specifically orthopedic surgery. One pet owner shared their positive experience with Dr. Gebroe and his surgeon when their dog, Riley, a white lab mix, tore what was described as the equivalent of his ACL. This owner sought opinions from multiple veterinarians and researched the surgery extensively before choosing Dr. Gebroe. They were impressed with the care Riley received, noting that the team treated him "like he was their own." Furthermore, Dr. Gebroe personally called every night to check on Riley's recovery. Even when Riley unfortunately tore his other ACL during recovery (a common occurrence), they returned to Dr. Gebroe for the second surgery, and Riley has since made a full recovery, enjoying an active life.

From these reviews, we can infer that the services offered at this Pet Hospital extend beyond routine care to include dental procedures requiring anesthesia and complex orthopedic surgeries like ACL repair. The mention of blood work also suggests in-house diagnostic capabilities. The focus on honesty in providing treatment plans and the dedication to patient care, including follow-up, appear to be important values at this clinic.

Information regarding the specific environment of Dr. Kidwell's Pet Hospital is not detailed in the provided reviews. However, based on the positive experiences shared, it can be inferred that the clinic provides a professional and caring setting for both pets and their owners. The trust expressed in the veterinarians and the positive outcomes suggest a comfortable and well-equipped facility where animals receive quality medical attention.

Key features of this Pet Hospital, as gleaned from the reviews, include:

  • Honest and transparent communication regarding treatment plans and costs.
  • Expertise in dental procedures requiring anesthesia.
  • Capability to perform complex orthopedic surgeries, such as ACL repair, with positive outcomes.
  • A caring and attentive approach to patient care, including follow-up.
  • A team of experienced veterinary professionals, including Dr. Larry Kidwell and Dr. Gebroe, along with a skilled surgeon.
  • In-house diagnostic capabilities, such as blood work.

While the reviews do not explicitly mention any ongoing promotional offers, Dr. Kidwell's willingness to waive a future office visit fee for blood work could be seen as a gesture of goodwill and consideration for the client's expenses. This indicates a patient-centric approach rather than a focus on upselling or hidden costs.

Dr. Gebroe was recommended to us by some of our closest friends. Two years ago, our dog Riley, a white lab mix, tore what would be the equivalent of his ACL. We took him to no less than 6 different vets to get their professional opinion and researched the surgery online. There are two different kinds and if done properly, your dog can resume a normal life. The dog was 9 and we decided to go with Dr. Gebroe and his surgeon. They did a great job with Riley and cared for him like he was their own. Dr. Gebroe called every night when Riley came home to check on him. Unfortunately, while he was recovering, he tore the other one! This is common. We had to fix that one too. As of today, Riley is now running around causing havoc on the squirrels in our backyard.
