5.0

Had to bring my pup in last minute when we were out of town in Wilmington, NC. After calling a few other veterinarian offices this office was able to fit us in quickly. There were about 6 ladies working behind the desk and we were pleasantly greeted by one of them. It would have been nice if they all smiled when we walked in, some looked almost bothered but that's me being nit-picky. They got us back quicker than I thought which was great because I had two children with me. The vet sat on the floor with my pup and involved the kids in the examination. As a homeschool parent that was awesome as a learning experience for the kids and the planting of a seed of a possible career choice when they are older 🤗 They gave me my options and the financial breakdown of both with no pressure for which one I chose. I highly recommend this office and if I lived local would definitely use their services.

The environment at Dr. Katie Horne's practice is described as "airy, friendly, understanding and patient." A welcoming atmosphere is paramount in a "Pet Hospital" to ensure comfort for both pets and their owners. The review notes a significant number of staff behind the front desk, suggesting an emphasis on efficient client service and a potentially bustling, yet organized, environment. Despite a minor comment about some staff expressions, the overall greeting was pleasant, indicating a commitment to client interaction. Crucially, the ability to fit in a last-minute appointment for an out-of-town visitor, and the promptness with which they were seen, underscores an efficient operational flow designed to minimize wait times. The observation that the veterinarian sat on the floor with the pup and involved children in the examination speaks volumes about the practice's commitment to creating a stress-free and educational environment. This approach not only calms the pet but also fosters a positive learning experience for young family members, potentially inspiring future careers in animal care. Such actions signify a deep understanding of the family unit's role in pet health, going beyond just treating the animal to engaging and educating the caregivers.

As a "Pet Hospital," the services offered by Dr. Katie Horne's practice would encompass a broad range of veterinary care essential for maintaining pet health and addressing medical needs. While specific service listings are not exhaustively detailed in the provided information, typical offerings would include routine wellness examinations, vital for preventative care and early detection of potential health issues. Vaccinations are a cornerstone of preventative medicine, protecting pets from various infectious diseases. Parasite prevention and control would also be a standard offering, covering fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites. Diagnostic services, such as blood tests, urinalysis, and potentially radiography (X-rays), are crucial for accurate diagnoses and would be available. The practice's ability to accommodate a "last-minute" visit for a pup from out of town implies they handle a variety of urgent or acute conditions. This suggests they are equipped for general medical treatments for illnesses and injuries. Furthermore, a full-service "Pet Hospital" typically provides surgical procedures (e.g., spaying, neutering, soft tissue surgeries) and dental care. While not explicitly mentioned, the comprehensive nature of a "Pet Hospital" generally means these core services are readily available to ensure holistic pet health. The focus on providing clear options and financial breakdowns also indicates a structured approach to treatment planning and client communication regarding available services.

The features that distinguish Dr. Katie Horne's practice are largely derived from the glowing customer experiences. The practice's commitment to transparency and no-pressure decision-making is a key feature. Providing "options and the financial breakdown of both with no pressure for which one I chose" builds immense trust with clients, empowering them to make informed decisions that align with their pet's needs and their budget. This contrasts sharply with practices that might be perceived as pushing unnecessary services. The "understanding and patient" demeanor of the staff, as noted in a review, contributes significantly to a positive client experience. The implied efficiency in getting patients "back quicker than I thought" also speaks to well-managed operations. For a homeschool parent, the integration of the examination as a learning experience is an unexpected and highly appreciated value-add, showcasing an innovative and thoughtful approach to client engagement.

The statement, "I highly recommend this office and if I lived local would definitely use their services," is the ultimate promotional message, indicating a superior client experience that inspires loyalty and positive referrals. The very nature of a "Pet Hospital" signifies a certain standard of comprehensive care, which itself is a form of promotion, assuring potential clients of a wide range of available services. Their commitment to transparency in billing and treatment options also acts as a powerful promotional tool, building trust and appealing to pet owners who prioritize honesty and clear communication. The emphasis on being "airy, friendly, understanding and patient" communicates the core values and atmosphere of the clinic, attracting clients who seek a less stressful and more compassionate veterinary experience.
