I scheduled appointments for two puppies that I didn't yet own in 4.5 weeks ahead. Two puppies, one male and one female, two different breeds, 8 week old & 12 week old, anticipating boosters for their first vet visit with their new humans. I placed a call asking about two open sores on my male pup's lips about a week qgo. Without informing me, the appointments for both puppies were changed to medical visits despite that one puppy had no issue at all and needed boosters and without even knowing if the other pup's wounds healed. When I explained that this was merely a question over the phone with staff who misunderstood, the vet tech stood firm that both puppies had medical visits. He kept telling me I wasn't listening when he did all of the talking. I'm a professional who works in Healthcare. We don't treat people the way they treat animals and never would. We articulate information over the phone to clients. We don't let them arrive and disappoint them with red tape and turn them away. I can certainly understand changing the visit for the male dog, but the dog without problems needs to wait for vaccines? Sorry didn't make sense and it was frustrating. People need to communicate over the phone. We waited four weeks for that appointment and they refused to see us. I told the vet tech that some lunatic got her facts wrong. Of course this was a grand opportunity for them to punish two puppy owners and refuse to see us. Yes, despite their kindness over the phone, there's a lack of ability to critically think and communicate to their clients about what could only have been protocol. Sadly we are not psychic and giving me an attitude when I simply wanted the other dog who was well to be seen is not something you should do to new clients. It's a poor business practice. Reputations can easily be destroyed. And they could care less that two very puppies went without boosters so they could leave sooner. Never in my life have I ever heard of a provider refusing to see you. Trust me, it's their loss $$$ and merely a temporary an inconvenience. Shameful for supposed animal lovers
