Very reasonable, can do surgeries. Xray etc need to go to animal hospital. Parking is challenging, and take your GPS. Steck has terrible bed side and not real informative. Perhaps burnout, but I will still take animals there for shots. He has good system for medication of you need to pickup after open hours.

As a facility categorized under "Pet Hospital," this establishment aims to provide various forms of care for your beloved animals. The overall environment of Dr. Greg Steck's practice, as described by some customers, presents a mixed picture. While the core function of veterinary care is certainly provided, some feedback suggests that the physical environment may not always meet every client's expectations for cleanliness or modern aesthetics. It's important for potential clients to consider that a veterinary practice can prioritize functional care over lavish waiting areas. Parking has been noted as potentially challenging, so it is advisable to use GPS for navigation and allow extra time for arrival. The facility is equipped to handle various procedures, though for more advanced diagnostics like X-rays, patients might need to be referred to a larger animal hospital.
Dr. Greg Steck provides a range of essential veterinary services. These primarily include general veterinary care, such as routine check-ups and vaccinations, which are fundamental for maintaining your pet's health. The practice is also equipped to perform surgeries, which is a significant service for a local veterinary clinic. This suggests that Dr. Steck can address a variety of medical needs for animals, from preventative care to more involved medical interventions. For clients who need to pick up medication outside of standard operating hours, the practice reportedly has a convenient system in place, which can be a valuable feature for pet owners with busy schedules or urgent needs.
One of the notable features of Dr. Greg Steck's practice, as highlighted by a client, is the perceived reasonableness of their pricing. This can be a significant advantage for pet owners looking for affordable veterinary care without compromising on essential services. The ability to perform surgeries in-house distinguishes this practice from those that might only offer basic consultations and vaccinations, making it a more comprehensive option for some medical needs. The flexible medication pick-up system is another practical feature that demonstrates an understanding of client convenience.
Customer feedback regarding Dr. Greg Steck's practice is quite varied and provides important insights for new clients. Some reviews indicate that the “bedside manner” of Dr. Steck himself might not be as communicative or informative as some clients would prefer, with one review mentioning a perception of being "rude" and "not real informative," possibly due to "burnout." Similarly, the customer service aspect has received critical feedback, with some describing it as "horrible." Furthermore, there are comments about the environment being "nasty" and "dirty." It's also been mentioned that Dr. Steck, surprisingly, was not very good with dogs according to one reviewer. These points suggest that while the medical services are available and considered reasonably priced, the overall client experience, particularly regarding interpersonal interactions and the facility's appearance, can be a significant factor for some individuals. Despite these concerns, some clients still choose to bring their animals for routine services like vaccinations, acknowledging the value in the medical care provided. It is important for prospective clients to weigh these different aspects and decide what factors are most important for their veterinary care needs.
Given the feedback, prospective clients considering Dr. Greg Steck should prioritize the practical aspects of care offered. If affordability and access to surgical procedures are primary concerns, and you are willing to overlook potential shortcomings in customer service or the aesthetic appeal of the facility, then Dr. Greg Steck might be a suitable option for your pet's needs. It is always recommended to call ahead at (573) 584-3368 to discuss your pet's specific requirements and get a better understanding of their current services and policies. Using a GPS for directions to 1229 Murphy Ford Rd, Centertown, MO 65023, USA is highly recommended due to potential parking challenges. While the reviews offer a candid look at past experiences, individual experiences can vary, and direct communication is key to forming your own opinion. For those seeking routine shots and reasonably priced surgeries, Dr. Greg Steck offers a viable local option within the "Pet Hospital" category.

Oct 01, 2020 · Sandi HulsIf you like rude people, a nasty, dirty environment, and horrible customer service, then this place is for you. Dr. Steck was extremely rude and surprisingly not very good with dogs. I won't be back. I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone. Go find another place to take your animals.
Sep 29, 2024 · Cameron PendletonAmazing staff and care. Very knowledgeable and you can tell he just cares about the animals not just the money. When all other vets in my area wouldn't give my dog the time of day, he said bring him on in... and now my boy is back to his self. I would highly recommend him and his staff.
Apr 20, 2023 · Christy BorumWe have used him for 15 years for vaccines, spay/neutering and minor illness.
Jan 23, 2025 · Michelle WilsonHe's a country vet. If you're expecting hospital clinic level of care for your pet then go to an animal hospital in the city. If you want affordable care, accommodating staff, expert attention for your furry friend, and you don't mind taking a scenic drive out to the country then Dr. Steck is your guy. We've used him for years for cats and dogs. All types of service and love how he runs his business. I will NEVER take my animals to another vet. NEVER.
