Dog Day Afternoon

Would use no other vet for my mom's cats or my personal animals. I run a local animal rescue and we use him exclusively for the rescue. You will not be disappointed putting your cat or dog in his caring and compassionate, capable hands.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A BOTCHED SURGERY AND YOUR ANIMAL TO SUFFER TREMENDOUSLY. They will change the price on you and proceed to yell at you in the most disgusting unprofessional manner I have ever witness in a veterinary clinic. I will be reporting this business to the Louisiana board of veterinary medicine for negligence. The owner is in no mental or capable state to be performing any sort of surgery on animals. Shame on you.

I had to get my three male cats spayed/neutered and they were the only clinics that were available right away. The owner worked welled with me and my partner even gave my partner syringed and iodine for his hands because he was bit by the cat. They gave our cats rabies shots so that we would be qualified for the Fix-A-Feline program, they even cut their nails. Our total came up to $270 to $25 for the extra carrier they gave us. They were wonderful, understanding, and one time, caring, and good at communication. I highly recommend to anyone who need their babies 😻taken care of.

I'm a person that usually read reviews for businesses when making big decisions. Reading the reviews for this company was scary. The more I read the more I realized that most of the complaints weren't about service but more about cost. I was bringing in my Indie for a spay that turned into emergency surgery (Pyometra). No I wasn't prepared for it, times are really hard right now. Doc did more to help me than hurt me, he really worked with me and my situation. No, the office is not a typical office, I kind of like that though. I was there for some time and I didn't notice any mistreatment to the animals. Every customer was treated with respect. And my Indie's life was saved. Everyone has different opinions and you have the right to go wherever you want for service, but I truly believe that Doc loves what he does and he is good at it. Indie is still healing and we have to go back to get her stitches out soon, I'll give an update. But I don't mind that the biggest dog I ever saw snuck out the back and smelled me and laid next to me. He looked very comfortable so that made me comfortable. So until we have an issue we'll be back. Remember this is just my experience and opinion. Everyone's review won't be the same. I'm satisfied with my visit to Dog Day Afternoon. The guy that checked me in, I hate to mess up his name I believe it was Joe or Joseph, he was awesome. He kept me company when I was in panic mode and walked us to the car carrying her after surgery and wished us luck. Give them a try , or not but Indie's procedure went very well.

On multiple occasions, this vet has shown that he is more focused on making money than providing quality pet care. I’ve had to ask him to clean egregiously unsanitary surfaces before placing my dog on them; he lied and said that he offered a 3 year rabies shot just to get me to come and spend money on vaccines when he in fact only had a 1 year shot; and he copped a flippant attitude when I asked him to treat my dogs stomach trouble without making me come in to get her temperature taken (something I can do myself) since she has been a regular patient. I’m done here.
